Re: Elma 2 - first version released

Yes, it should work on windows xp. And what comes to low fps, it may be scanning the level folder at the background, which causes a lot of fps lag. I guess we will provide a 'better' way to deal with the level loading so all the levels are loaded without the lag.

Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

I guess it's time to tell something about the progress of this project again.. We've been quite busy writing the rendering code, trying to make the elma2 look as same as the original elastomania. We just managed to complete the kuski's rendering code, which includes all the arm animations and kuskis...

Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

Oh dear, this is so chaotic. I understand the first reactions full of excitement but before it gets any serious there needs to be a proper project management that takes this up and proper decision making process. Sounds exciting though. But how to proceed, that's the biggest challenge. It is alread...

Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

I agree with all this, except for static building (at least during development time) Just meant that if teh current smibu commandline exe doesn't work its maybe because of teh dynamic runtime. maybe when teh first versions of the new elma exe gets published it could distribute those dlls aswell. So...

Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

daayumm.. quite nice :D i think the hardest part for the new elma is beaten, and theres only that coding for the new version. what comes to the update, i think it should be made from scratch. itd be also good to keep it platform independent, that is, use eg boost libraries for interfacing witht the ...

Re: At least 2 more aborters

I was going to make a ballebot which could abort/start balles, as well as make some statistics about them. mila then refused to give teh tcp protocol :D not that it rly matters, but it would have solved partially teh aborting problem
