Some random things I notice

* Numpad +/- still doesn't work dunno if I said earlier but I find it annoying.
* Shapes, see no reason why there is Ellipse and not Rect/Triangle/Custom shape/osv.

But the change I proposed would not affect the way you use the tool afaik. I want a different functionality when you click exactly on two edges and/or vertices.
You click in the middle of the polygons to make a small connection, I click on the vertex/edge to merge them.

Make sure the ip does not end with whitespace which can happen when you copy the ip from some random place.
Example: "127.0.0.1 " is wrong and won't work "127.0.0.1" is correct and will work osv.

iirc this is what caused problems for ramone earlier this year.
