3. i try not to do but i sit with C- back, legs crossed under chair i think...
normally its not too bright in my room and i have music on with decent volume
4. sometimes my mother comes into my room and talks, but i dont really listen then...sometimes sun is shining into my eye through curtain, but thats no problem when i play elma...

1. I'va some RSI in right shoulder, got it 3 years ago while playing age of empires2 too much. Last year doesnt hurt too much, after about 4 hours hoyling it starts. Yesterday with kc08 :).
2. My fingers never hurt. my notebook have very light touching keyboard, that's ver nice. I use my middle right finger for up and down and enter, cause you can touch two things at the same moment with this keyboard. up and enter at begin and up and down while breaking. Rightfinger is for right and supervolt, the end button above right. and leftfinger for left. With my left hand I only use 4th finger for space and the fnbutton left of it what is esc. Sometimes I press this button while have very good run because of the stress, then i hate myself.
3. I lean at table with both arms sit forward with straight back, not touching the chair. back and neck never hurts.
4. the elma sound is very light but always on.
5. MTV or other television is sometimes on, but when I need good time the television goes off. I can't hoyl while I visit my parents, cause my mother drives me and herzelf crazy while I'm playing elma.

1. Have you gotten hurts from elma
not much except sometimes my fingers or neck will hurt
2. Soar fingers?

3. Whats your sitting/hoyling position?
i usually sit slouched back on the chair with my right hand on the arrow keys and my left hand on the spacebar and the escape button, while my wrists sit on the desk under the keyboard kinda
4. The light, moud, sound level at your computer?
my computer doesn't make much noise
5. Dissturbing sounds (passing trains, loud parents)?

1. Yes, yesterday my back just "clicked" while playing and it hurt pretty bad.
2. Dunno what soar is but when I play I press pretty hard and sometimes my fingers hurt. My right longfinger (the gasfinger) is actually bent a bit backwards compared to my left longfinger (alovolt). I guess thats because of elma :)
3. I sit quite normal, but I never lean back while hoyling.
4. Light is different all the time. Sound is pretty low, I play with gamesounds and they are quite annoying with high volume.
5.TV 1meter over my left shoulder, and sometimes sister or mom comes in and asks something. Its usually "Yes", "No" answers and after the run I forgot what they asked me.

4. Quite bright.. hig q is good res though so i like it... winamp only sounds i hear...

5. I have lazy siblings that never answer phone so i have to exit "record-breaking" runs to sprint all the way over to the phone

2. Soar fingers?
Never
3. Whats your sitting/hoyling position?
Normal - legs crossed under chair, right arm on arrows, left on space (turnaround) and B (alo), back is in this position (
4. The light, moud, sound level at your computer?
Just some metallica, korn and nirvana MP3s playing, everything else is silenced, room is bright.
5. Dissturbing sounds (passing trains, loud parents)?
Nah, just phone ringing sometimes.

1. Have you gotten hurts from elma
Not really, just fingers.
2. Soar fingers?
Definately, I cant play much. Noticed this when I played 24h tt, with no rest fingers start to hurt so much, and I press so hard. My keyboard "Knakar". Usually I can just quit if fingers hurts, this monday, however I coudnt. I had played all night til about 7 in the morning (KC07, yes) and fingers hurt so much and I had no success at all. and then after about 4 hours of sleep I had to play more. And when I started fingers hurt so funging much... but I forced myself to play and after about 4 hours I made a finish. By now I didnt notice pain.
3. Whats your sitting/hoyling position?
I most often sit "skräddare" (kinda like monks sit on ground, with feet up on the chair... ) For instance, I sit like that now. And I want my keyboard far in on my table so I can have my arms straight. Bartek is opposite, we had troubles when playign multi, I pushed keybord away, bartek pulled it back. :P
i4. The light, moud, sound level at your computer?
I use never elmasounds. Light is just as it is.. dotn like to dark screen though.
5. Dissturbing sounds (passing trains, loud parents)?
No disturbing sounds, dont really care about that.

1. Have you gotten hurts from elma
The only thing that have hurt me from playing elma is my right forearm. I like feel the muscels stretch and so, not very hurting, but very anyoing. It uasually goes away when i'm consentrating hard.
And eyes sometimes, but that I don't think is only made by elma.

2. Soar fingers?
No, never. Maybe little tickle, but that only feels good.

3. Whats your sitting/hoyling position?
I sit back in chair, my wrists on the table side to relaxe them. My feets either stretched or in cross under chair.

4. The light, moud, sound level at your computer?
I always need light in the room. And usually i listen to some music.

5. Dissturbing sounds (passing trains, loud parents)?
When i lived at home, the höyling was often disturbed bu either mom or telephone. But now that doesn't happend often. Some airplanes though that can be heard in the backround, but that doesn't annoy me that much.

depends of the lev, in some short höylä levels I usually get soar fingers, I wonder when I understand that pressing gas harder doesnt affect the accelration or speed and pressing brake harder doesnt give better grip.

if the lev suits my fingers then its my wrist that gets fucked up. I just bought gel wrist support, havent really learned to use it yet but I hope it helps

when höyling I usually have some very anti-ergonomic sitting position
my most common position must be this

WTF you act like you do some extreme sport like motocross....some of the side effects of riding result in full body soreness the next day. sometimes to the point where you dont really feel like moving cuz your spine feels broken and your legs feel like you are gonna pull a muscle when you walk. Soreness is worst after a day where you crashed but doesnt really hurt when you do it.

i can just imagine how elma dude feels :( damn

my chair is the suxxiest, hard fucking chair.
My position is... i'm almost lying on the top of the chair and down to the floor.. (i get hurt in my back sometimes) but not neck hurt.. cuz i'm pretty tall and am used to be looking "down" (cuz everyone in class is sooo short)
sound often disappears after i've done the multitasking, light differs..
disturbing sounds,, oh yes! parents saying: "time to go to bed"
i don't have any problems with my fingers any longer... i had a while back

Personally I often get red/cold hands while on the CPU for a too long time, but I guess I'm not alone, that's a kind of syndrome (Elma syndrome).

Having problems with max pains nowadays. My desk is too high compared to chair (not adjustable) and I only have some 10-15 cm to rest hands on at the edge of the table. Arms are bent in a > kinda shape and since I press max hard I'm having trouble straightening arm out after just some 1 hour hoyl. Wank-muscle in elbow just hurts like hell. My gasfinger is fukked up too, it's max sore. And today my right shoulder is aching, it's like some nerve is squeezed. My back is ok though o/

I have great pains too. Mainly in wrists. I press very hard on right hand and that causes pains in a long run. And on left hand I have very bad position and it goes like zigzag, because my keys are like that. Right hand is just on arrows and left hands pinky is on space and index finger on ctrl, shift or enter.

I also had max pain ( ) in my right elbow in the past but then figured out that my desk had a pull out table there and with a small pillow it's a perfekt rack for my elbow and the pain is gone ;)
So I think it's important that the ellbows are lieing on the table...

3. Whats your sitting/hoyling position?
I always sits in different ways like 3 different ways I use.
4. The light, moud, sound level at your computer?
I have music often but never Elma sounds. And computer doesn't sound anything.
5. Dissturbing sounds (passing trains, loud parents)?

Worst is my watch (which I usually remove, ez max pain after 15 mins), and that bone under pinky, like at the base of the hand, my whole hand lies on it on both hands and it goes all red. Doesn't hurt much though.

1-2. Never gotten hurts from elma. No hurting wrists, no sore fingers (i wrote nigers first, lmao), no uncomfortable feelings anywhere. My back have never got tired too, even after 8+ hour sessions.
3. My desk was really high compared to chair (similar to john's case), it was pretty annoying, and i used to put my right hand on the desk all the way to elbow (it is the hand that presses edsf-buttons, so basically the elbow was near the numpad buttons, and fingers were floating over e-d-s-f), and it actually was quite comfortable (mister backbone doesn't really agree with me here, but he managed to get used to that too). Later i switched to a nice desk and now i just sit straight and normal.
4-5. I live in a village-type place in an own house, there is really silent around, so sometimes i hoyl in a silence, it's pretty cool and relaxing, but mostly i prefer to listen to music though.
Well, and the guys with hurting wrists, cold fingers, squeezed nerves and stuff like "my wrists are telling nice things when i move 'em!" - you really should change something in your hand positioning if you don't want your hands to get fucked up badly. Good positioning = good bloodflow (no cold fingers), less excessive tension (no clicks in wrists when you move them and generally more endurance in them) and no squeezed nerves (this can be really dangerous). In short periods of time it doesn't matter that much, but if you have these problems day to day for a long time, it will inevitably lead to a serious damage, which will take years to recover from. I'm stressing this point, because i myself got over this stuff few years ago (not from elma, it was guitar-related stuff, but the reasons are the same. I've squeezed some nerve badly due to a poor fretting hand positioning) and it wasn't fun at all. I could barely hold a pen with this hand. So, hoyl comfortably, guys!

Same for me but in right elbow, but this is not because of elma, it's because i sit in front of computer all day in school and also when i come home (i study datanetwork and we have three lab rooms filled with comps and a whole racks with routers, switches and firewalls), it usually dissapear in summer but this summer it didn't, and i did not sit with comp much this summer ;o

Usually I can hoyl hours sitting in most unhealthy positons without any problems but something like 1,5 months ago my back really started to hurt. It was such pain sitting in school as well, was hard to concentrate. It also made me to play less elma, which wasn't that bad effect, just the way that led to that was mongo.

But then I got some cold gel from my mother and after starting using it all the pains fed away in some 3 days. The gel was supposed to relax some muscles and help with infections so I guess I had some tensions or an infection there.

Anyway now it's cool when I can sit however I want again.

About finger hurts I btw recommend using three keys with both hands (alo, turn and brake with left and gas and volts with right). Having to use gas and brake with same finger (if traditionally up arrow for gas and down arrow for brake) is mother of all finger hurts I think.

I use the original keys (arrows + space) and press brake + gas with middle finger. Lately uphills have been fucking with me due to the common need to make short presses very often, and that I still haven't ridded myself of the illusion that pressing the buttons with raging force somehow makes the bike obey more efficiently. Usually my right middle finger locks into a straight form and I fall down the hill. It hurts my whole right arm and shoulder. Nom's suggestion of changing keys would probably fix this, but it's quite hard to get used to new keys.

I don't have any other ergonomic problems from playing. I used to sit with a banana back, but decided to sit straight and it became natural. Sometimes I play Elma lying down across the chair with my legs on the table and keyboard on the lap. Feels good, man.

Uphills are just kidding for fingers compared to slow uphill pipes like Jopi43.. ;x (celebral pares anyways) Hoyled for 30 mins when got my time and that was the first time ever i get finger hurts. Pressed space like 3 or 4 times in 2 secs whole time only with left thumb and it was pretty cold also there.

Sorry about that FinMan :D
You should kick back with some JoPi08 for a while.

OnT:
Recently I've had some problems with my back when using my comps in general. Leaning towards the screen too much, making my back look like a C. Got new contacts (read hawk-eyes) a week ago so now I can lean back, just like Fat Joe...
