Elma Olympic Games questionnaire

Post by Chris »

Oke, so here you can express you opinion about the upcoming games.

If you don't know what I'm takling about here is my post:
I don't know if this is novel idea. We can have a tournament like Olympics where people will compete in different elma disciplines. Unlike World Cup it will be based on EOL battles rather than setting best time in lev during some period of time. I would prefer it to be competition of nations rather than teams like in WCup. Each winner will be awarded gold medal, for 2nd place silver and next place bronze. Then we can have a medal table and best nation would win the Olympics Games.
And here is the original thread:

Here are the questions:

When games should be played?

What format should be used? (for example: 1 day event, whole week, weekly event etc)

Who should be eligible to participate in the games? (anyone or selected people)

Should there be semi finals and finals or just finals?

Should finals (and semi finals if they are to be played) just one battle or more then 1 battle?

What disciplines would you like to see?

(remove anything you don't like from the draft list or add something that isn't included in my draft)

Normal (normal battle)
Holya (very short battle)
TL (long "impsy" TL lev)
Pipe
One life
FF (normal FF)
Uphill FF
Slowness
Survivor
Last Counts
Flag Tag
1 hour TT
Apple*
Speed

*Apple battles currently don't work on EOL

Should level makers be allowed to play their own levels?

Should there be 2 players events?

Anything else you would like to say about the games?

Copy the form from below if you want to answer my questions.

When games should be played?
Whenever.

What format should be used? (for example: 1 day event, whole week, weekly event etc)
1 week per events, since its not everybody who can be available at a certain time/day

Who should be eligible to participate in the games? (anyone or selected people)
anyone but designer

Should there be semi finals and finals or just finals?
I don't really understand this question.

Should finals (and semi finals if they are to be played) just one battle or more then 1 battle?
1

What disciplines would you like to see?
Not necessary finishable levels.

Could be like 3 categories for each kind of level:
-impsy hard 1 trick level: as short as possible, like no 10s part before the actual trick
-normal
-endurance: the idea of the trick is repeated multiple times with variations of it. can be traps if you fail 1 trick, must restart from beginning, or not

My ideas of kind of levels:
-Hang tight kinda
-Flat Track kinda
-Spikes spins (and vertical spin? like Jaws)
-Flat and bumpy Uphills
-Apple harvest
-Impsy tight pipe, medium and wide
-Brutal
-Bounce
-Speed Loop
-Gravity
-Trial
-Downhill
-Freefall triangle jumping kinda
-Hard FF with bunch of hard tricks

-TL (long "impsy" TL lev)
-Pipe
-One life
-Cruise FF
-Uphill FF
-Slowness
-Survivor
-Last Counts
-Flag Tag
-1 hour TT
-Apple
-Speed

Should level makers be allowed to play their own levels?
no

Should there be 2 players events?
ye

Anything else you would like to say about the games?
Like real Olympics, if you are a master at ski jumping only, you won't participate in Hockey. Point is there shouldn't be an overall all events score to win, each category would be separated. Sure you can play multiple ones or even all if you want tho.

I think it would be fun if you got to practice the levels in advance. When it's time for the Olympics, everyone gets like 3 tries in every event, and all others spy while one person makes his attempts. That way you'd get the true olympic feel, with everyone spying and having to preform with only 3 attempts. The only exception would maybe be FF, since everyone can spy there already. This also works for multistyled levs, since you probably wouldn't dare changing your style in such a short time anyway.
