New EOL ip - 67.205.61.41

Post by Kopaka »

67.205.61.41

EOL has now been changed to the above. Simply change the IP in eolconf, no other change is neccessary. You may notice the old ip is still running, which is only for letting people who may connect to it know of the new ip. Any times made on the old won't be saved.

-- original post --

Due to changes to the current service at the host, we have to move to a different kind of server. Most importantly this means a new ip. The change will happen in 26 hours from now on december 2nd at 02:00 EET. The new server is live now so you can test it out right now, just change the ip in eolconf. It runs with a near empty database atm. So far it's working well, but if you run into any issues write a reply.

Works nice and fast. I just hope the database with times will be back soon! It is weird to press shift+f5 and have empty list in all levs :)
edit: lol, made (very bad) pr in int01 when tried to make good time for others to beat on empty list :D

How is spy broken if you can spy kuskis?
What is broken is their personal firewall settings since destination IP changed.

Did you even read my post? I can only spy few people. It's clearly issue with eol server as only thing people did was changing ip.

EOL as far as I know hasn't worked as it should. If you can spy only people that left unchecked "TCP only", it is still broken, espiecally since many people can only use "TCP only" option to spy others.

then i guess the upd port is not open on the server or what
edit: receiving udp port is set only on the server (it was some 4485 or 4486 or something), the port might be used by some other application so you can try some other

Yeah trying to figure out that exact port, wasn't aware of any extra ones like that. On this server I had to specifically open ports.

In the meantime I should mention that you should consider TCP only option as a last resort. In general it's slower, which means more laggy. From what I hear many just uses it out of laziness or because they just don't know. For some it has still worked just by turning it off, but for many you might have to port forward to make it work with that option off. To portforward you need to open the settings for your router, usually by going to http://192.168.0.1/ with your browser and typing in some basic info like user: admin pass: password then find some place called portforwarding and add a new one with port 4461 UDP and your local IP (192.168.0.xx usually, open cmd and type /ipconfig to find).

But while we fix the server it's not a good time to test if that actually works of course, although it might(?)

thx for this info, kopaka :) I was playing with tcp only option for the longest time, coz it just didn't work otherwise. But now I did it like u wrote, and it works! I had to srsly nab smth in the past, coz IIRC I've tried to do it like that years ago.

only my user name is "admin" and password "admin" :)

With this new IP I can only spy with "TCP only" ON and it's always quite laggy. Thx for reading my story.

Thanks for your help, I did so but it's still not working. I have the 1.2 version installed up and running correctly and downloaded this EOL.zip. Copied everything into the ELma1.2 folder and overwrote what I had to. Set my elmaonline username+password in the eolconf. When I start the eol.exe I get the following message: "sorry, internal error" :( any idea what can be wrong, what I should do?

Did you do this part TGabee?
Make sure your Elma.Res file has been updated to version 1.2, then run Resedit.exe, click "Import pack" and "OK" to import the new font(s) into the Elma.res file.
