GAA 2016 Full Log #events

Post by Sla »

Various players asked for full logs, so there is it. Maybe not the perfect text, etc, but atleast they can read it. If you have a better text or something, feel free to edit post or ask me to update it.

[3:00 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Hi, welcome to the 14th annual Golden Apple Awards!
[3:00 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Thank you all for your votes and contribution to the Golden Apple Awards (and the scene) once again.
[3:01 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> This channel is +m so only operators and voiced people will be able to talk, use #across for free talk. Stupid nick changes will result in a ban.
[3:01 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> There are 14 categories this year. The top 5 pointgetters for each category will be used in the show. You can see the rest of the
nominees at http://gaa.elmaonline.net/vote/. The links to watching the nominated replays and such are there too.
[3:01 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> See here for more info: http://mopolauta.moposite.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9552
[3:01 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> The jury consists of five members: roope, Markku, Ruben, Sla and adi.
[3:01 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> This time we got enough voters so jurors' votes were counted as part of the community and don't have any more weight.
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> -----------------------------------------------------
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> With the formalities out of the way, it's time to get things going!
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> The first few categories will be presented by Ruben :>
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Good evening mans!
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> First out tonight is a category believed by many to be the most prestigious (although some dolts prefer the Oscars for some strange reason). A year of hardcore hoyling has passed, but only one man can go to sleep tonight, knowing they're the undisputed:
[3:02 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> INTERNALIST
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> the nominees are:
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> adi
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Kazan
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Nekit
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Sla
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Spef
[3:03 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> With multiple WR's under his belt this year, in Headbanger, Zig-Zag and Shelf Life, the winner is:
[3:04 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> SPEF!

[3:04 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Congratulations!
[3:04 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> gz!
[3:04 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> On the flip side of internalism, we have externalism. Renowned externalist have presented themselves as forces to be reckoned with, in battles, cups and level packs alike. Proving their mastery at quick stylefinding and excellent execution within very limited timespans. Here are the nominees for:
[3:04 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> EXTERNALIST
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> adi
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Finman
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Hosp
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> roope
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Zero
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> And the winner, having grabbed an astounding 2000+ WR's in external pipes, is of course:
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> ADI!

[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Congratulations!
[3:05 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Thanks!
[3:06 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> I still enjoy battling and even internaling occasionally. However, externals are closest to my heart.
[3:06 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> hands over prize
[3:06 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Last year was crazy.
[3:06 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> I probably ended up piping even more than in 2008, thanks to mawpi project in the spring/summer and pipe stats later in the autumn.
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> very well deserved, adi!
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> now
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> In these modern days of Elma, kuskis squabble round the clock to just get that one victory. Some kuskis, however, are more concerned with how many victories they'll be able to string in a row. Creativity and quick thinking is the key when you're the best:
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> BATTLER
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> the nominees are:
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> adi
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Bjenn
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> jblaze
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Markku
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> In a fantastic display of dominance, having amassed a winrow of 32 normal battles, the winner is none other than:
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> ZERO!

[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Congratulations!
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> ez win, gz
[3:09 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> I don’t think anybody were surprised by that…
[3:09 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> now over to Adi, who will present the next categories
[3:09 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Good evening elma-player fellows!
[3:09 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> We'll start with one of my favourite categories. Who made the biggest impact as level designer?
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> We need high quality levels for cups/contests and level packs in future too.
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> On the other hand, daily battle levels are the essence of nowadays elma. Both quantity and quality are appreciated.
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Also massive first finish and apple battles are appreciated!
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> 4. DESIGNER
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Nominees:
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> AndrY_
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> insguy
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> kuchitsu
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> TL
[3:10 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Ramone
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> And the win goes to man, who has consistently kept making high quality battle levels through the year.
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> The winner is...
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> kuchitsu!

[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Congrats!
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> gz!
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> this was a tight one, congrats!
[3:11 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> speech!
[3:12 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> Thanks a lot people!
[3:12 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> I'm quite satisfied with what I've been making this year myself. Cool to know that other people like my stuff too.
[3:12 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> I just want to say that it's totally you guys who made this award possible.
[3:12 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> I enjoy making levels too of course.
[3:12 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> But the biggest joy is sharing them with others.
[3:13 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> It's always a pleasure to see other people play my levs, maybe rage at them :D, get inspired by them, etc.
[3:13 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> And also I want to say that I'm very pleased with the design scene at the moment.
[3:13 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> We still have people developing new tools, coming up with fresh ideas, etc.
[3:13 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> And looks like we have a lot of cool stuff to look forward to in the future.
[3:14 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> So I'm very optimistic at the moment. :)
[3:14 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> And, finally, if you aren't making many levels, I really suggest that you try it once in a while.
[3:14 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> As I said it's a great pleasure, and it is also probably the best and the easiest way to keep the scene going.
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> So thanks again and let's see what the future will give us!
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <kuchitsu> I'm done. :)
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> very nice speech, gz again!
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> nice speech!
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> indeed!
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> and also nice motivation for others
[3:15 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> (and nice levels)
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Then next category:
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Who improved the most during the year? And as you may recall, candidates can be eligible for a breakthrough in playing or level designing.
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> 5. BREAKTHROUGH
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> The nominees are...
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> jblaze (designing)
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> RearNakedChoke (playing)
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Fejm (playing)
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> AndrY_ (playing/designing)
[3:16 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Sla (internal playing)
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Breaking two minute limits for 36 minute total time and making internal WR is a serious breakthrough to the world of pro internalists.
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> So the winner is...
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Sla!

[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Congrats!
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> grats!
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> hey coal!
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> 8>
[3:17 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Thanks you so much to all who voted me!
[3:18 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Ill write something then
[3:18 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Internals are the best levels ever, after 15 years we keep discovering new styles again and again. Many of them are really crazy and i
managed to do some of them and i just didnt know i had the skill to reach such tt. After some years of absence, BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> i wanted to go for 37tt, it sounded very cool to reach it. Then after some improves on old personal records, i quickly got close to the legandary 36mins club, teh impsy.
[3:18 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> I dont know why, but reaching this tt was very easy (and fun), surprisingly. BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Then, the total impossible thing came, a WR. I never thought this could be possible for a player like me. Having a WR (present or past) is one of the most awesome things i live/d with Elma.
[3:19 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Checking the Wr Table and looking at my nick there, feels so weird, like if i was dreaming. I woke up several times and said "Wow,
really? I have a WR O:"
[3:19 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> And its awesome to have it! Thats all 8>
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Another nice speech :) congrats again
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> nice!
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> thank you the speech, sla!
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> and now we have Zero in the house, do you have anything to say regarding your Battler win?
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> thx to all u
[3:20 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> so
[3:21 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I really want to thank you all
[3:21 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I think battles are a extremely meaningful to this scene
[3:21 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> they are what keeps it active and so accessible for all of us
[3:21 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> and I'm just glad to be a part of it
[3:22 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> last year was full of memorable and enjoyable battles and I want to thank the designers who took the time to create the levels
[3:22 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> and all the players as well. We shared many interesting moments :)
[3:22 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> also. grats kuchi for winning GAA
[3:22 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> i love your battle levels
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> always nice to play :)
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> thanks again.
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <jonsykkel> np
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> i'm done
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Well said! We really need to keep the battle scene alive.
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> nice, gz again
[3:23 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> congrats, zero!
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> and then
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Next category is very traditional. You simply need to drive nothing less than internal world record.
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Headbanger 41.14 by Spef (#384)
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> 6. WR
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Labyrinth 52.36 by Kazan (#386)
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Sink 32.26 by Nekit (#386)
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Pipe 28.89 by Sla (#387)
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Zig Zag 52.73 by Spef (#385)
[3:24 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> It's one of the most legendary internal levels, where new innovative styles continuously keep popping up.
[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> It's also the only internal that has been improved by over 1 minute since first wr table.
[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> The winner is...
[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Zig Zag 52.73 by Spef (#385)!

[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Congrats!
[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> very gratulations!
[3:25 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> probably no speech this time either
[3:26 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> congrats, too bad Spef hasn't really been up for speeches the last few years(
[3:26 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> ye
[3:26 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> his driving says it all
[3:26 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> next up, sla
[3:27 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Thanks adi
[3:27 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Now we are going to take a look at those players who tend to think different and make different moves, big or little moves that make a big difference inside level file.
[3:27 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> So, lets start with:
[3:27 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> STYLE
[3:27 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> --------------
[3:28 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> The nominees are:
[3:28 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Fyr172zer rec by Zero

[3:28 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> HALF1Padi4595 rec by adi
[3:29 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> HALF2Vfm rec by Finman
[3:29 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Tre547zerDONE rec by Zero
[3:29 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> He might not feel new at this point...im talking about...
[3:29 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Zero! Congratulations!
[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> for Tre547zerDONE rec by Zero ;)

[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Zero, do you have some words?
[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> gz!
[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> Thanks :D
[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I'm very glad about this
[3:30 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> This level was just amazing
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> Ramone was quite upset when he started it as a battle since he noticed its potential
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> this could have been a great pack or cup level
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> but in the end it definitely got some recognition :)
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I think there were 4 different routes that you could drive a good time with
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> and I had a great time hoyling and perfecting them
[3:31 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> thanks for voting!
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> done.
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> thx for speech Zero
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> it indeed is nice when regular battle levs are recognized too, nice speech
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> and gratz
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Lets continue with the next category:
[3:32 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Often we are amazed by other players skills. Sometimes we can see them playing online, sometimes not, but they still moving so good and making awesome replays, those replays that you cant believe and say "How?" while watching...
[3:33 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> 8. REPLAY
[3:33 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> ---------------
[3:33 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> The nominees are:
[3:33 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> HALF2Madi5092 rec by adi

[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Tre547zerDONE rec by Zero
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> VOU004adiJES rec by adi
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> The winner of this insane .rec file could not decide between going head down or not...
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Congratulations total time mate, adi!
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Thanks!
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> for VOU004adiJES :>

[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> vou
[3:34 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> congratulations! Sick rec was!
[3:35 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> indeed, gz
[3:35 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> totally
[3:35 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> I'm actually very proud of this level. I created it in order to improve mans head first piping skills.
[3:35 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> After all I ended up hoyling it myself.
[3:35 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> Done.
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> In Elma is not everything related to making good times, levels and breaking total times. Some players likes to express doing different kind of images, videos, special levels, etc.
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> The next category is:
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> 9: ART
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> ---------------
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> The nominees are:
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Christmas cards by ville_j
[3:36 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> fitrec6a rec by dawid
[3:37 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> niilovideo by roope
[3:37 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> World Cup 6 movie by iCS
[3:37 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> YALE FFs for example yff00001 lev yff00003 lev and yff00005 lev by multiple collaborators

[3:39 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> some words will be good from him
[3:40 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> nat here i think
[3:40 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> Lets keep this going on!
[3:40 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> With...
[3:40 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> 10: CONTEST
[3:40 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> ---------------

[3:43 PM] BOTirc: <adivanced> gz!
[3:43 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> it think need next arranger of WBC, anyone up? :>
[3:43 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> after World Cup, of course
[3:43 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> we could discuss at Lauta
[3:43 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> but oke niN not here, so let's continue
[3:44 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> things to do, needed, etc
[3:44 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Next up is a category that was intruduced last year and focuses on a whole different aspect of Elma that has gained prominence in the recent years. This category is alll things saveload.

[3:44 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> The nominees are:

[3:46 PM] BOTirc: <Sla_Alan> gratz Crazyness!
[3:46 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> yeps, grats!
[3:46 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Moving on...
[3:47 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> Next up is one of the most subjective categories and one where it's extremely hard to pick nominees. You might notice there is top 6 instead of top 5 here, that's because there was a tie for the 5th place ;)
[3:47 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> LEVEL
[3:47 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> And the nominees are...
[3:47 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> 32Cup13 by umiz

[3:48 PM] BOTirc: <roopemies> congrats both!
[3:48 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> wow!
[3:49 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I think it's safe to say that we have never spent as much time making a single level than we did making SkypeC05
[3:49 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> Zeros idea to make lev. He gets the credit imo. I just added some vertices here and there.
[3:49 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> Lmao
[3:49 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> Not true Ramone and you know it :D
[3:49 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> No, but really. We spent shitload of time on that level. Sending back and forth and backl and forth, testing to death, and giving
feedback and so on so on.
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> Didnt think ppl liked lev so really surprised. THANKS ALOT! and thansk to Zero, would nto be possible without you :D
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> No someone need to go beat Zeros time also! GOGOGO!
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> yeah. thanks everybody!
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> I had a great time making the lev ram :)
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> *Now
[3:50 PM] BOTirc: <RamoneIRC> unrealistic ammount of time went into that :D
[3:51 PM] BOTirc: <Zerodat> My replay is in recsource in case you haven't seen it

Thanks for posting Sla :) And gz again ;)

Also point of feedback for the future: please try to remember to post not only for what the GAA is being given, but also to whom (see style/replay/contest categories) :)

Otherwise really sleek handling, thanks to all the organisers once again!!

Seems Discord didn't want Zero to win, it dropped his nomination:

[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> BATTLER
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> the nominees are:
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> adi
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Bjenn
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> jblaze
[3:07 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Markku
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> In a fantastic display of dominance, having amassed a winrow of 32 normal battles, the winner is none other than:
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> ZERO!
[3:08 PM] BOTirc: <Ze_Rubenator> Congratulations!

So yeah, maybe not rely 100% on that bridge.
<veezay> antti also gonna get stabbed later this month
