THE LATEST VERSION OF 1.11h ( WONDERPATCH )

Post by GuyB »

THE best patch for elma just got better

All the usual stuff is included.. alovolt, vcr-style rec watching, brake and esc alias .. ect

NOW EVEN MORE INCLUDED
Hibernatus added :

Fast menu-navigation ( by pressing left CTRL + "letter" you jump to the "letter" )

Lev-pack .. now you can load a pack for itself ..

get the patch here http://acrossdk.mine.nu/acrossdk/

GuyB[rdk]

NOTE: The patch is unofficial and not accepted by Balázs or Moposite. It contains bugs such as corrupting replays etc. so don't use it in your internal hoyling elma or WC. -Abula

rewind has to be changed faster, it's very annoying to rewind with normal speed. :)

and there could be 2 slow motions, one as it is now, and other, for example"ultra slow motion". when these are made, i am very happy with the patch. (like i wouldn't already :)

HATS OFF TO YOU MAN!! VERY GOOD JOB. THIS IS BIG! But then again, couple changes/addons still for good: 1.ultra slow motion sounds khew.

2. random levels that are not in any pack are hard to find. Maybe hib the levels that are in packs shouldn't appear at "external files" at all.. or maybe a levpack that could have rest of the files that aren't in any packs. It is just quite hard to figure the pattern for that because the levs are named this and that.

i found one little error in lev packs. it doesn't include alp35_m.lev to alp levels.

that can be fixed by editing Alternate Level Pack in elmaconf. just change the pattern from alp??_?? for example to alp*

Great Job Hib.

Ok it says for me to ask Karlis why the brake alias is included.

Well Karlis, why and how does it help?

ok ,I know you didn't ask it from me because it's officially also a rule to ask it from karlis, but for me it helps alot...it saves my finger getting crushed if some levels need up and down arrow both alot. So having it also elsewhere is for good. You quickly learn to use it in some certain level to save your finger. And then..after that part if you success and you are heading end of the level, it is good to have the old down button to ensure that you don't screw your run because of brake button in some weird place ... ok that's very messy,if u get my msg ,nice.

Seriously, this patch is great. Now I can't think of any more features that I would want included. Great job, hibernatus!

Hib said last night the patch has some bugs and MAYBE can corrupt the files so be careful. Take back-ups at least. He will fix it hopefully.

One suggestion: when printing stats of level packs there should be some "\n"s in the output because now for example the first line of stats is on one line -> ugly. Same with last lines.

As abula said, apparently there are some flaws in the program, so the link has been disabled on my page.. Hibernatus is debugging it today, and It will be back online as soon as possible ..

Again, im truly sorry for the inconvenience

Ehh, this WAS added.... Press on the fast forward button in the same time as you rewind, it's all explained in the readme... :)

...and another thing; I don't think the levpack option is that important (I haven't set myself too much into it yet, but I presume the levs has to be in a folder called Lev?) I have my levs in different folders, named f.ex. "cup levs" (of course then I have to rename them to "lev" when I want to play them)

But, someone else may find that function useful, so I won't nag about it. And the patch rules like sliced brown-cheese anyway, so I only want to applaud Hibernatus :)

Great Job Hib!

In the readme, it says," This was made for braking, because braking with two different keys might be useful for sick hoylas (ask Karlis why)."

so Karlis, why? (or anyone who might know the answer to this question.)

"If you don't want the alphanumeric keys to be always enabled, use elmaconf.exe to make "Left Control" required. In that case "Left Control + A" will work, but not "A" alone."

i dont really find any reason why it shouldn't be always-enabled..

WARNING:

if you drive a replay with this new patch, there is high change the rec will get merge-corrupted, which means you cannot merge it even with old nitro patch.. so be careful with these patches.. backups recommended

I get a lot of those "internal errors" too. When I tried to merge FatherGods wcup rec with mine, the game crashed. But when I merged first my rec and then FatherGods rec, it worked. :?

Merging is a real prblem. I made two exact same times on steep corner and took replays of them both... then i tried merging them and the Elma crashed :x

Ye it's true, I tested myself after Hib sent me a mail. He wasn't sure if they don't work or not but as I told they don't :|. Because Hib isn't available to repair it right now we just have to wait or maybe MGen can make something, I don't know. GuyB will inform here and in his news later today.

There are two major problems that I will concentrate on here

1. Apparently the patch isn´t completely flawless yet. A bug which causes the game to cause corrupt-rec-bug. When playing multiplayer and then watching rec, internal error. Also the merge-function was causing some crashes.

As abula said, Hibernatus is unable to work on it atm so carc has fixed the bug, tx to hib

2. Some people are beginning to get confused, due to the fact that previous versions of the patch are floating around the community. Some of these versions include different bugs and can cause problems..
In my regular installation I use this version. http://213.237.35.1/acrossdk/stuff/Elma1.11h9sep.zip
So far I haven´t found any flaws in it.. So my advice is this .. If you already have a patch, and it is worked as you want it, then don´t do anything.. If you want the added functionalities from the newest versions then wait a few days and get the version published on www.acrossdk.tk when it is done.. If, for some reason you need the patch, and don´t want to wait a few days, try this version ... BUT BE ADVICED.. its a beta, and eventhough I didn´t find anything wrong in it, it doesn´t mean that anything can´t be wrong

If you decide to test that beta version remember to tell about all bugs and errors you find.

Post by GuyB »

Instructed by Hibernatus, Mgen have now gone through the code and corrected the faults in it. This means that the merge-replay=crash bug has been removed.. In other words, the patch now behaves as you want it to..
Other small bugs has also been corrected, so it should now be bug-free
It contains all the good stuff from the older versions, but has now everything concentrated in this one version..

It is still a beta, so if you find anything wrong in it write me or hibernatus about it.
