Ballelma country ban

Post by milagros »

For some secret reason there are loads of n00bs coming from Poland that try to ruin the fun at ballelma by starting internals (QWQUU.. - will be fixed soon), impossible levels, stupid balles (survivor tutor1), old/others levels
95% of banned kuskis are from Poland and they usually use proxy so I can't ban their IP and they can reregister under different nick
So if this will countinue I will ban all IPs from Poland from Ballelma
I guess Poland has some elma forums where they've heard of ballelma, let them know teh

Can you possibly unban my nick for starting battles? And we can't do anything about these kids that start internals. Solution is one for the starters of abortable battles - 3 such in a week and temporary bans...

I thought you were making the battle starter flag thing -- what's the point of banning a country when that's in place?

Not that good. But we have foreseen that, haven't we my Polish mates? When they started to sell that 'Komputer Świat' magazine with Elma we knew there'll be a massive wave of people who aren't pretty well informed about the rules.

Sounds really stupid to ban a whole country
There are a lot of great elma players from poland - don't blame them for what their non-elma-educated-brothers do..

This is like what I experienced when I first joined the scene - some kind of hostility towards newbies. Don't we want the scene to expand? Not only do I talk about this thing with Belma.
Belma might be the biggest happening since alo-key patch, or whatever you treaschure, but still we have to help and educate these n00bs instead of chasing them away. That will set the scene in decline..

- Might be stupid me just not getting anything right, feel free to tell me if.. -

Don't see any reason to ban whole country either. If the battle starting flag is done, then you just give it to people who knows the rules? Not hard to update that at all when all moderators can give that flag through the site.

i guess it can, i didn't update any original elma file (i just downloaded some exe from internet and updated that one), i don't have to follow licence rules at all in this
might be worse selling it along with other original files (.res, ..) of elma
