I hope that for example those team systems will be featured on the site.

But anyway this was the only topic from which I found some discussion about the new battle modes. Is there going to be that kind of battle mode where you can see only the leader and also not his time? I think it would be very cool battle mode. It would combine the good elements from old-school irc battles (players's times hidden) and belma battles (the exitement of seeing yourself leading).

Hidden times battle = nice idea

You could see the standings but not the times, or also only the leader, would be nice.

As far as I know battles with completely hidden times and leader are already featured.

Okay. But I don't know what's the point in adding absolutely nothing anymore. If there's some very good small ideas that would be extremely simple to add, I can't really see a reason why not. (sorry I really can't help suggesting another really simple one... you could change the arranging function at the level folder so that for example nom40 would come before nom399, now it's super annoyingly nom398, nom399, nom40, nom400...)

Btw we talked about the lenght of bans, Jappe thought the stuff I wrote in rules were too harsh, what do ppl think?

As of now:
First violation: Warning
2nd: 1 week ban
3rd: 2 week ban
4th: 1 year ban

and warning/1week/2week are removed after a year with no violation, so you get those again before the 1 year ban

sounds about right. define "violation" for me though please. You mean playing in own battles that you start?

Can myself or boneless get moderator rights for this new release or is the rest of the world prejudice against Canada?

Thanks,

i think those ban lengths are just about right, maybe warning, 1week, 1 month, 1year o,o
but i think violation should be more defined... i dont think there should be a ban for playing own balle or starting int... maybe 0.5 violation then? :D

Why? A violation is a violation, if you do it on purpose, you break the rules and a ban is in place. If you give a shorter ban for a small violation, people will violate the rules simply because the punishment is not as harsh. It's like allowing the rules to be broken.

Holy shit, I just understood the logic in the sin system of christianity!!

Mistakes are a different deal. I think mistakes can be allowed (e.g. die while spying - name in results - OMG DONT PLAY OWN (just an example - a bad one :)))

i am not sure if playing own battle or startin an old battle should be considered a violation, when there is nothing else going on.

That's not possible at all.

Violations are those mentioned here under not allowed

You have a huge advanced if you played the unmirrored level over those who haven't, so it's not fair.

vsync goes under unsuitable levels I guess, changed that link to go the to level designing etiquette page instead.

do you? maybe in style levs.. but even in style levs other route may be faster cuz of alo! and i think that in FFs (FFCUP type, 1 route) there is really no advantage... it was very fun to play those levs, and thanks to mirrors there were more of them, because most people orka make new, so they mirrored :)
well i know i won't change the rules but thats sad :( maybe this one could be suspended for example for nom only to start his cup levs mirrored only? unless you think that people also have advantage in such levs... :/

So after some beta testing we have discussed a few rule changes/addictions:

Make it more clear than internal remixes have to be very different from the original.
- because internals have been play A LOT so if you just change objects, there will probably still be someone who has played that route, so you have to change vertices ect.

No senseless nick/team/nationality changes.
- some have been changing to "funny" nicks and countries that they don't live it, kinda annoying and messes stats up.

Any opinions?

i agree very much about that. wtf mickey mouse -.-
and about int remixes - i think i agree... though i dont think int remixes are seriously taken at all, so i dont think anyone would care about someone else playing teh before. but YES stats are stats rules are rules so i agree about that. just btw, any warning given already?

Rule addictions, Kopaka is a future dictator

I think int remixes are good if start is moved at least, so that you start in different conditions. For example start Loop-de-Loop at end, put apple at rightmost platform (the hard to reach one) and put flower in loop or something, is good int remix to me.

I mean, int remix with moved objects require to move start too.

Allowed:
New levels never played by anyone
Remixes
Internal remixes
Remixes of others levels
But remember they have to be noticably different, especially when it's internals (changing polygons required). It's always recommended to make your own levels though

Not allowed:
Remixes only changing the start position
Making level smaller ect.
Remixes with very small changes
Practise/Train levels
Mirror levels
Scaled levels
Using same level for different battle type
This was an internal remix definitely, but modified enough imo shouldn't have been aborted since the playability/style is considerably changed

Yes, it would be cool if the rules regarding internal remixes were made a bit less strict. Just swapping apples with killers and vice-versa or moving the start and flower a bit can significantly change the level so imo would be nice to allow doing that. It would be even better of course if balles in internal levels were allowed. :-)

This. I know many doesn't mind light remixes of ints, but that's not what battles are. A light remix of some recent battle level is a different thing because no one has had a chance to try out some alternative longer route/style, on ints there's people who know every little pixel of every polygon.

Well, the fact that everyone knows internals so well is what makes int remixes so special. It's a whole different territory compared to never-before-seen levs, and a very interesting one imo. And they have a very unique feel to them. Like, if you just make some hard lev it doesn't seem that special, but if you take Warm Up and place an apple very high where it seems almost unreachable (which is what stefan did with the battle previous to that flat track remix) that's a whole different story, it becomes a challenge that you really want to beat. Personally, I love the concept of taking a familiar level and making it ridiculously difficult, not just in Elma but in many other games like Mario, Doom, etc.
