Some of these (probably most) target times could use an update, or maybe I'm just stupid

These are very bad target lists indeed, you are not stupid.
I agree with what mila once said, world top10 equals world class =D
Nah but I haven't followed these for years because they are so much out of date!
I think this: halve your amount of world class times you got from this list and you are about right, the same goes for professional times =)

Same, but it's still fun to have targets to reach. I guess one thing you could use as a target nowadays would be to get above position xx on the EOL table. That would also be easily accessible in EOl so no need for alt-tabbing. That would work well with the idea that WC is top10 in the world. A nab for instance could aim for like top30 or sach (but remind me again, how long are the shift+f5 EOL tables? Do they end at like 20 or 25 or so, or do they display all times?)

WC should in my opinion be times so close to the WR that a little extra hoyling could get you the actual WR. You don't achieve WC by making semigood runs with best styles, you have to hoyl those styles or be lucky and finish with good time early ;o
Some suggestions for WC:

01. 14.07
02. 15.20
03. 17.85
04. 30.00
05. 20.00
06. 31.00
07. 31.00
08. 20.90
09. 55.50
10. 10.90
11. 23.30
12. 20.90
13. 14.20
14. 17.70
15. 53.00
16. 1.24.50
17. 54.30
18. 44.65
19. 36.60
20. 59.00
21. 14.50
22. 39.00
23. 37.00
24. 43.00
25. 24.50
26. 22.20
27. 34.60
28. 50.20
29. 43.70
30. 33.00
31. 1.13.50
32. 42.90
33. 56.50
34. 36.90
35. 2.16.50
36. 58.00
37. 54.50
38. 29.50
39. 39.50
40. 1.23.00
41. 39.00
42. 48.30
43. 56.80
44. 11.60
45. 32.70
46. 53.00
47. 19.50
48. 46.50
49. 38.30
50. 54.00
51. 43.00
52. 24.80
53. 17.25
54. 1.19.00

Some are probably too hard and some are probably too easy according to my definition at top.

45wc, pipe 33.00 is quite lol though. with that logic some levs wc time should be better than wr, like gravity ride 23.00 or something

I think that the only problem is related to system of target "naming". It is just not flexible, it can't follow time improvements. Yesterday some time was incredible, but new style was invented and every nab now can ride pro or WC...
Maybe targets can be renamed in some way like this:
Beginner - Level 0 (or Stage 0)
OK - Level 1
...
Current "World Class" - Level 4
New John's target - Level 5 etc...

This approach has its own disadvantages, but I'm sure that it can be more useful and interesting for everyone)

P.S. sorry for my English 8)

There's no logic in using any predetermined target times, just look at top100 for each lev and see how good your time is in comparison with others.

If you wanna some targets, here you go:
Code:
Top10: WC
Top20: Pro
Top50: Good
Top100: OK
Worse than Top100: Beg

Anyway it might be a bit hard to check since there's no source where you can see all the times...

The times in EOL are just a little fraction, it can't be objective at all. Please don't quote if you're responding to the previous post.

congarsultsions you have found teh essence of the problem. elastomania community does not have a community website. put yourself in noobs byxors that wants to find about this old cool game he played 6 years ago, he might find moposite. what will he find there? definitely not a word about eol. definitely not a word about anything that makes 99% of the community today.

or maybe it's a good thing we're like a hiding community? do we need more of these björns and sach?

records-wise, ppl could just upload their states on moposites more often, but I for one am pretty lazy doing that if I got my times on eol db already. And then we can discuss about the incredible speed of the eol website

This should be automatic. And yes, moposite should definitely be updated.

Out of sheer curiosity, is there generally a lack of interest regarding updating moposite, or are said moderators, webmasters and whatnot simply too busy with irl/other stuff? Are there no suitable people with knowledge of php/html etc that are willing to update records and perhaps do some of the things discussed above and bringing eol statistics onto moposite?

Sorry for going of topic, just trying to figure shit out, been gone a long time from the scene

Welcome back Thundr =)
Statistics are on beta.elmaonline.net, world records are updated on moposite and moposite has been plenty updated with stuff in the recent half year? and is now only one site (no more paprika).

I don't think EOL stats will be on moposite. Maybe someone else can answer this better anyway ;P
Kopaja has done pretty much I believe

A bit of everything probably, but in the end it's more or less up to me. Getting times from eol has been talked about since first day I talked with abula about the new records system, which was released last january with state upload. And since saveload spread it has become a bigger priority (and state upload disabled it seems). I have been focusing on another project lately which is why I haven't done anything about it yet. Anyway this is the wrong topic to discuss this, if you or anyone has any ideas how exactly it should work when copying times from eol to mopo feel free to tell here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4507&p=206899#p206899

Okay I see whats going on now, and I understand what Zweq meant with elma not having a community website, because its spread out over many sites that may be hard to find. But thx for clarifying.

And Pab I'll hoyl that lev later, just wait :D

It's a lot of work coming up with reasonable targets at this point. Will be easier after a couple of tables.

Hi there guys, it's been some time...

IMO, top 100 should be Pro targets, while top 10 (or maybe top 20) should be World Class.

At least until someone with a thorough understanding of most of/all of the internal styles puts in the amount of work Luther and co (I believe) laid down all those years ago... It's no easy task

Until then, I have currently 3 "pros" (13, 28, 31)

Hi there guys, it's been some time...

IMO, top 100 should be Pro targets, while top 10 (or maybe top 20) should be World Class.

At least until someone with a thorough understanding of most of/all of the internal styles puts in the amount of work Luther and co (I believe) laid down all those years ago... It's no easy task

Until then, I have currently 3 "pros" (13, 28, 31)

Hey H8 :D How are you? Been such a long time.

CG no longer exists :(

Hi Haruhi and Lukazz, nice to see you're still active here  (you've gotten a pretty sick TT btw Lukazz)

I'm fine, been playing all kinds of games since elma, but I just got back to it to take up where I left...
My big goal is getting in the 39 min club, but I'm gonna get there in my own tempo, pretty rusty by now :blushes:

My main concern is that I've lost my old stat file (luckily found most of my old replays (TT = 41:53) on an ancient team CG site http://www.teamcg.wz.cz/), so I'm gonna start off by improving my time on every single level,
should be quite doable (Warm Up (14.24 -> 14.23) down already  ).

And I've had a lot of fun watching the new styles, especially on Hi Flyer, Ramp Frenzy and Animal Farm, who would've thought TTs ever gonna cross the 36 min border 8O
