Nitro Times

Post by Bismuth »

Hey. Maybe it has already been done but I don't bother looking all the threads to be sure that it's brand new.

Who has been trying to get the best times in internals using Nitro patch? I did :D

So I want to share some of my times and if you are interested in beating them/uploading recs or something, or even making a table, it would be nice. I don't consider nitro as cheating as long as it isn't used in belma to have ridiculous times. It's just completely different and still some fun ;) Personally, I use it on elma 1.0 that I have somewhere else (so I have 3 elmas; 1.0, 1.0 nitro and 1.2)

Okay, time for times:

1. Warm Up: 5.70 -- NEW 5.22
2. Flat Track: 4.74 -- NEW 4.48
3. Twin Peaks: 9.04 -- NEW 8.38
4. Over and Under: 13.20 -- NEW 10.68
5. Uphill Battle: 9.23
6. Long Haul: NEW 29.07 (sucks)
7. Hi Flyer: NEW 11.22
8. Tag: 10.60 -- NEW 9.88
9. Tunnel Terror: 33.93 -- NEW 27.79 (still sucks)
10. The Steppes: 0.57
11. Gravity Ride: NEW 25.22 (lol)
12. Islands in the Sky: 8.43 -- NEW 8.33
13. Hill Legend: 8.77
14. Loop-de-Loop: 8.24
15. Serpents Tale: NEW 40.31 (shit to hoyl, sucks)
16. New Wave: NEW 1:23.93 (even worse)

All new times starting from here:
17. Labyrinth: 33.92 (though it doesn't beat old, which I lost)
18. Spiral: 37.10 (sucks)
19. Turnaround: 22.12 (sucks)
21. Hangman: 12.11 (don't think it beats old)
22. Slalom: 9.71
23. Quick Round: 16.95 (shit)
24. Ramp Frenzy: 7.53 (awesome)
25. Precarious: 13.29 (shit)
26. Circuitous: 9.69
27. Shelf Life: 21.70 (shit)
29. Headbanger: 17.03 (uber-awesome but 16 is very very psy, maybe even 15? Though I don't think so)
30. Pipe: 22.54 (shit)
34. Bumpy Journey: 24.11 (missed 23.4x and ez 22 probably)

I'm playing on a new state.dat for it, and I haven't unlocked all those levs. Anyway, most of them are just impsy nitroed. All times are driven with 1600 speed.

I wonder what speed you are using (comparing to good ol' v.1.0 nitro), because it matters so much. I personally had at least three 00:00:00 times, ~9:xx headbanger. Can't remember other times, and my own comp is broken now :S It got boring fast anyway, so the times aren't hoyled.
I'll suggest trying to play with invulnerability only, no speed changes. That's where you start thinking differently :) Many nice style&trick possibilities in all the levs. I'll try to dig up my latest recs if you are interested (and even if you aren't :P).

Using 1600 speed... and what about using 100 speed? Would be hard to do like... Freefall or Uphill Battle!

double that speed and lower the timescale instead, ez faster times (timescale is for u to be able to react if bikes stretches too far, to avoid error)

Different levels require different speeds for best results. I remember this from an old Nitro competition for externals; can't remember which site right now :)

I believe it was Zo3non's old site.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

we hoyled tt's with juzam with 1400 speed I think and time between rotations was same as normal elma, so default, invulnerability on obviously. We hoyled some styles and levs kinda much but dont remember our times too well. I think 4x something on new wave with super cool style. Go straight down, stretch bike so backwheel goes under the starting polygon - getting enough speed towards right to get apple under start, drop straight to lowest apple at left, then max speed to right and jump all the way back up.

I think it would be fun to hoyl styles and sach on longer levs, why not, it's still speedrunning and nitro has it own tricks

Better playing, but always 1600 speed. I may reduce for some levs, if so, then I'll specify the speed used. But with that nitro patch and elma 1.0 and all, 1600 can't be exceeded.

You need elma 1.0 to see them. I'll make some pack somewhen, with all the recs included. Imo headbanger is the most mongo.

So, I'm currently working on Fruit in the Den (hoping to get some 25) and Lab Pro (hoping to get some u45, around 42 would be max). By the way, Lab Pro is INTERNAL ERROR lev in nitro. Very, very annoying.

I share a rec of missed 47.8x with everything shitted after some 27-28. I'd like some feedback, like "you should try this style" or "awesome shit" or "shit".

Mats, tell me you are using a different version of nitro, because 3.xx in Warm Up is impossible with 1600 speed, which is the max in my version.
