INTRO
Some of you already know, MRII is about to take place.

For those of you who can't be bothered reading the concept (though I recommend you do) I've made this trailer. There's enough info to get the idea of the cup in this vid, it's approximately three minutes long.

CONCEPT
MasterRacerII is a cup held by nIN. A few years back MasterRacerI was held, and the winner was jaytea[OMG]. I recommend you read through the concept at one time or another before the 30th of September.

In MRII you play in pairs. You sign up for the cup with a friend and together you should try and win as many events as possible. An event is two levels, one per player in each pair. An event is alive until a specific date has passed, after this date the players get a certain amount of points, depending on what their positions were worth. Combine the points between the two player's in the pair, and the pair with the least amount of points will be eliminated. Then another event will begin, and the same thing starts all over again.

When there are only three pairs left (six players) all the points which have been gathered throughout previous events will be set to null, and the first pair (the pair which had the most points) will be awarded three points, second pair will be awarded two points and the third pair will be awarded a single point. This to keep the cup exciting as the end approaches.

Another two events (one event is two levels, remember!) will tell which two pairs will be eliminated, and after them two events we only have two players left in this cup. The two players in the winning pair now make a perfect final. One level will be played by both players and the player with the best time after the deadline will be our MRII winner.

OUTRO
You can read the rules on our website. In order for me to start the cup I need to know how many are going to play, therefor I've made a script which enables you to register for the cup on the website. Sign up in pairs, though agree with your friend before signing the two of you up. Should you make a mistake when signing your pair up, you can always deregister the pair and re-register again.

IF there should be many players registering for this cup, I obviously can't have one pair eliminated each round. Therefor I might change this rule depending on how many players have registered.

The deadline for registering for this cup is set on the 30th of September. That's the ETA of the cup +/- a couple of days (the date will be more accurate as it approaches).

Finally I would like to say that I've spent some time making this, and I hope people will try to invoulve themselves. (Important! though I will be gone from tomorrow until sunday the 31st of August, when I return I will answer all of your questions)

There are now eight days until the cup starts! We have 13 registered pairs ATM. The first two events will be held on the first of october (8 days from this day). Below is a table which contain info about the events. The deadlines and such are not written yet.



As you would know if you have read the concept the pair with the lowest amount of points after each event will be eliminated.

I sent an email to all who has registered with some info about a rule:

I will change one rule in this cup. That's the rule which says that one
should play what level he will be told.

"A player will be told what level he should play. If a player should play
another level but the one he was told in a round, this team will be
disqualified."

I will change this rule into:

"The two players in a pair should agree on who will play what level. There
will be two levels in each event, A and B, and if (for example) niN and
Igge is in a pair, together they should try to decide whether Igge will
play level B or niN."

I changed this rule for one reason: There will be varyed competition on
the levels.

On the website (coming on the 1st) there will be a message system so that
all pairs can contact their partners. This way they should be able to
communicate well and agree on this.

I think this is best, what do you think?

I just decided what points system I will have. I wanted a system that would give more points the further you got in this competition, and I wanted the winner to get something extra. So I came up with this:



Nothing really advanced. Basically take the points of the player above you and do that times 0,8 (80 % of it) and you have your points. The winners points will be calculated like this: 60 (just a random number) times the number of the event.

question: if one teammate doesn't send in, is the team eliminated? or do you keep the team points as 0 + x (x being the points of the player who sent in)?

If a in a pair player doesn't send a time for an event, then this team will get X + Y points (X is player one (who didn't send in), and Y is player two's points). So basically: You get points depending on what position your teammate had, and then add it to your points and that shows you the score for the round.
The pair is not eliminated.

Another thing is this: If both players in a pair send times for the same level then only the best time will count. The pair will not be eliminated.

BTW! No more pairs are allowed to sign up now! The first event starts tomorrow at 22:00 (10 PM) GMT+1. Thanks to all of you who signed up!

Oh, and with this new points system I don't think that I will have that rule I used that said that "when there are three pairs left the points will be set to null...". The pointing system will be the same throughout the cup.

The first event will be published tomorrow, and you can see when the other events will be published now too. Just test your way through it, it should all work. Read the FAQ before your do anything else I guess, it contains many inportant information.

To answer mawane: Everything is automatic, though I need to press some buttons for it to be published if you know what I mean

I have a question to all of yas:

Labs and Nopex asked me today if it was too late to sign up for the cup. There is three days left of deadline one and I thought I'd ask you guys what you thought. Can they join in? If you haven't told me by tomorrow then I will decide what will happen and most likely is that they will not be allowed to participate (due to the fact that I've already planned the events etc).

so please tell me what you think
