[Movie] Legends of Kopasite

[Kopaka]

Legends of Kopasite is a collection of the best replays from kopasite and the first ever big sharing of replays from here. An almost hour long tribute to great players such as Jeppe, GRob, adi, FinMan, Markku and the current kinglist leader Alma, as well as to the many amazing levels that you can play and compete in on Kopasite.

I've always had the policy that making movies from kopasite level would be up to the individual designer but after Mawane suggested a kopasite movie in mopolauta, I changed my mind and decide to make a movie with a few replays from all or many of the level packs. I started in November 2010 and hoped to make a quick release but that shouldn't be. As the project got bigger and bigger I didn't want to make any compromises and it ended up taking over half a year. However I believe it has been worth the wait. It was finished on July 7th 2011.

It has been reported that it plays badly or not at all in vlc, so I recommend to use mpc (media player classic).

Concerning the choice of video player: why would anyone use VLC, anyway? Use MPC as Kopaka said, bundled in the standard K-Lite Codec Pack. For Ubuntu users, just watch using the bundled video player, ticking the bottom tick during install. Windows users: the talked-about codec pack is much more advanced than that standalone media player that is VLC. Just look at the support when you file up a bug report: fixed in a few days concerning K-Lite, and probably never concerning the other,

kaz, use youtubeproxy or plugins/sites that allow downloading youtube content. I did that and it worked.
Great vid btw, just fastforward all Jeppe's recs and it becomes twice more interesting ;) Can't say my ears enjoyed it, but it isn't any different with other vids i've seen, so it's ok. I muted the spot with Katy Perry's song :p

Just watched this again Great memories!
Some questions: what makes your video not blurred when its moving fast? What makes your ground color normal and mine so dark? How do you still the video at beginning and end of clips?
Interesting to watch it as an example of how to make a video (techniques) instead of only its content as I used to watch videos in the past.

My guess is the first two questions are related to which codec you use and how you render the movie. The last one; if you're capturing the recs by shift-F1 entering the level you get a sequence of frames. Just put the last frame after the clip for a still.

Igge nails it. Assuming you use the in-game capturing as well, it has to be the final rendering/codec that messes it up. Can let you know the details of what I use when I get home tomorrow, or you can run the file through a codec checker application.

Okay, thanks. Thought about using a pic before and after replay clip for a still image but thought you had another way.
And yeah, I'd like to see your settings, I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 13, like you did I guess?

Oh right. Only difference seems to be I use 20M bitrate and 30.0 FPS, your problem would be the latter I suspect. I'm guessing you record from EOL with 30 fps, and youtube uses 30 fps, so it's getting messed up twice. Also I use Cyberlink Powerdirector and mkv filetype, but that shouldn't make a difference hopefully.
