Needs more advertising\accessibility maybe? Like news items on Moposite\Elmaonline.net, hype in EOL chat, using Elmaonline.net for uploading instead of some obscure site (no offence, I understand wanting to run the cup on your own site but I think the sad truth is that people would be more willing to participate through Elmaonline.net, especially when your site has bugs that aren't always resolved quickly, and also many players don't even read Mopolauta as far as I know...).

I understand what you're saying kuch, and yes there are ways to attract more players for sure. Advertising wise I think I did a good job, I advertised a little over half a year before with a video and lauta topics, nindex website etc. But yes, there are always more ways and it's been hard for me because of my job taking up too much time.

I had visioned a way smoother start without eol server issues, API problems etc. This is very bad luck because I have so little time to do anything. If everything would've gone smoothly then I think we would've had a different outcome. If the cup would've started when EOL was running on the old server then nindex would've had no problems accepting times and the upload there is very easy to understand imo. Nothing complicated normally. And I like nindex, it's my baby so I will keep the cup running there

If I don't then I might as well not keep the site.

However for me this cup is not about resurrecting elma or attracting hundredths of players, I just want to share my levels with the happy few that likes playing them! So big thanks to you who did play and I hope you will still enjoy the levels to come! If this cup doesn't end up a huge success I at least hope that the remaining levels will "wow!" someone! I put a lot of time into making a few of the levels and they're worth a little cruise imo

I think this cup has its own problems that were already pointed out well. But I still wonder where are all the cup players. Smaller cups are still important and also can be more enjoyed than world cups for example. I think the new generation of elma almost only plays battles, which isn't a bad thing. However we also need more players for levpacks and cups.

For me it's hard to get excited because:
1. Half competition is going and I'm still stoked about it.
2. I gave this cup a try by hoyling first event (which didn't scare me away). However with so few players it's much harder to get motivated. And I don't want to play event only 1-2 hours and send time.

Current level gives me quite mixed feelings. I like the level and already hoyled decent time but I really can't see how any "normal" player would get motivated to do 2nd finish.

I really want to do 2nd finish because I like the level a lot (huge, imaginative, very polished) but yeah, it's not gonna be easy.

I made some train levs for specific parts and so far I suck at them.

I really appreciate the feedback adi & kuch! I'm sorry to say that I'm too busy to do anything else than what I'm doing now. So this cup will keep running the same way it has been before. And I'm OK with that. I hope you guys keep playing and have a good time!

However I don't understand quite what you mean here adi, you say that you are stoked but it's hard to get excited? Or did I misunderstand you?

For me it's hard to get excited because:
1. Half competition is going and I'm still stoked about it.

Deadline in just over 48 hours! If you don't have a time it's time to strategize the shit outta this monster and put the reins on it's sharp head!

adi was talking about "HALF" by Ramone and Zero, a highly popular levelpack where the aim is to produce a video of best replays in February.

Anyway, I already did 4 finishes in this beast and I think now I have a good idea of what target time I should go for. I'm sure that my route SUCKS and I will be at the bottom of the table but what matters is that I'm having a great time and I haven't been so attached to a level in a long time hehe. Really good stuff and I can't wait to see the awesome styles people came up with!

I played very many hours.
Zero and I thought of many routes but after testing we found this fastest.

We did try some kind of adis route but he did every big part totally different, even the end.

I haven't merged our recs yet so I don't know which end is faster.

Mistr304 was very hard and way too fun lev to play, great work umiz!
My 10th time was 26.78, I wish I had more time to play it. I was quite busy all week, I improved my pr many times last hours.

Next lev looks painful =D

It's really sad how few players this cup has.

I'll give a little motivational update here then, to you who are still interested in playing!

Oh mama oh mama the excitement we are experiencing right now! If this was intercourse we would be right before the moment we all love so much, the partner is about to let you into her sweet zone! This is a very very hot spot we're encountering here!

Even though you might think this is a dead cup things are actually very interesting right now! the top four places are very much undetermined and I'll explain in just a minute what sort of dynamics we are talking about here!

Because we will remove the two worst scores from your results, this changes a little in the top list. Here's whats exciting right now:

This is extremely interesting because if we assume all these five players will keep playing and submit a time for the remaining two events, it means no position is safe! A few scenarios:

The biggest question is, who will get the gold??? Well out of three candidates two are certainly most likely: Bjenn or Zero. If Zero wins both remaining events, he will win with 2 points!!! But if Bjenn beats him in any event, Bjenn will win.

Bjenn and Zero will draw, if zero wins one and goes 2nd one. Where Bjenn goes 2nd and 3rd. GAH! it's so exzitin!

If roope wins the remaining two events with Zero placing 6th or below and Bjenn 8th or below both events, roope draws with Zero for first place. In the same scenario if Bjenn is placed 7th or above he wins. So a win is quite difficult for roope, but not impossible! Call your elma mates roope and have them beat Zero and Bjenn to a bad placing while you ride in with a few nice times

A more likely scenario is roope being placed third, where he is currently placed. Blaz has a pretty fair chance of stealing the bronze medal but it would require a very pro performance from him and an average performance from roope! If Blaz wins one and finished second one he will get 806 points. This is enough to take the third place if roope finishes third or less in both remaining events.

Theoretically ville_j also has a chance at the bronze but it would require a hell of a show with a double victory and roope again finishing third or below in both remaining events. So VJ, are you going to buckle up and style it?

I think it's very suiting that the event to resolve all these showdowns is a fucking monster level! The true hoyler will deserve this win, and get a good chance to kick some ass and maybe even climb up in the top three, or take the gold!

play hard guys, show this level no mercy and we will see on Sunday who is the real Mister!

Yes and so it is over. This is what was said by me to my loyal troopers in #MRIII

To me, making levels and arranging competition for our loyal members of the community is about more than positive feedback in the form of active players.

It's about creating a problem with a possible solution, and to leave it out there for interested people.

The process of creating it puts my mind to work in ways that few other activities do.

I'm like a child with the perfect toy.

One interested person will give me more pleasure than 100 uninterested participants, but even if elma was left with nobody but me to play it I would still make levels.

This cup has truly tested this attitude of mine, and I'm proud to say that I still feel this way.

With 13 participants most people would call this a failure

But the whole process for me was awesome - even though straining as far as work load goes.

And to see kuskis bring a third dimension to this game when they truly outmaster the problems I propose is as any designer would know truly satisfying.

I therefor want to thank the loyal players of this cup, and those who didn't play out of honesty

I truly feel that you played because you had a genuine interest in this - my levels and concept.
