O.J made in america 7/10 - quite good with backstory etc and really shows how retarded american culture is
casino 7/10 - pretty basic gangster movie but very watchable although it could have been shorter (almost 3h)
green room 5/10 - not totally terrible and the idea was i guess quite original and was cool to see patrick stewart as a villain nazi. has some pretty bad flaws also though and many actions people take seem a bit contrived and illogical, typical for horror movies tho
dirty rotten scoundrels 4/10 - beginning was terrible and almost quit after first 30mins which i do very rarely in movies, got a bit better but still not very good or funny
goodfellas 7/10 - saw this long time ago but didnt remember much. pretty similar to casino
coneheads 5/10 - bit repetitive with the jokes maybe but i liked the overall atmosphere of the movie

Louis C.K. 2017: 6/10
Pretty weak stuff here, but still louis ck so still always worth checking to some degree

Split: 4/10
Quite laughable, would have been maybe more interesting if it at least tried to keep some semblance to reality. It's just way over the top and stupid, pretty contrived plot without much imagination as well.

La La Land: 3/10
watefak again, I'm at complete loss at reviewers and people's taste these days I guess, yet another oscar thing I have zero idea how even nominated. I'm not even allergic to musicals and quite like a few, but guess I look for other stuff in them. This felt so silly and lame with the most basic shit plot imaginable, no memorable songs to speak of and bleh overall.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe: 6/10
Almost some 7 for me I guess. I wish they had stuck with the original feel and more thriller-y aspect of the movie instead of ending up going the horror way, even though it actually had some interesting aspects to it, but maybe could have been toned down slightly. An extremely unsatisfying resolution to everything as well that made it lose like one star of rating for me all on its own almost I think. For this kind of horror/thriller thing it was totally captivating and I enjoyed it as a whole though, so mebe worth a spy if want horror stuff.

now you see me 2/10 - i thought this movie would have been more grounded in reality but it was more like a fantasy movie and quite poor one. plot is full of holes and i pretty much did mental eye rolling through the whole movie, cliche after cliche. hypnosis is a magic tool in this movie where you can make people do anything with a snap of a finger and make them forget everything as well, really dumb stuff. technically the movie is quite well done but everything else retarded as fuck
now you see me 2 - 2/10 - biggest magic trick the first one pulls is to somehow get a sequel. i downloaded this at the same time which is the only reason i bothered to watch this, same shit. they replaced isla fisher with a much worse actress though

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1700841/reference
sausage party 2/10 - very unfunny and the plot is non-existent. weiner into bun "joke" repeated million times and just profanity for profanitys sake. only good thing about this movie was the stephen hawking gum character.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265349/reference
the mothman prophecies 7/10 - good thriller/mystery.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0164181/reference
stir of echoes 8/10 - also a good thriller/mystery. spooky enough but not so spooky as to give you spookmares at night which is good!

Gone Girl (2014) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2267998/ Downright evil movie, hated everything about it and felt like shit afterwards. Nothing was believable at all. Don't recommend. Had to take a dose of benny hill afterwards to clear up my head.

12 years a slave (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2024544/ All around decent / good movie. Movies about nigers are always good.

The hunt (2012) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2106476/ Oh my :dog:. I got so annoyed by some scenes that my hands started sweating :D, I think this was the most annoying movie I've ever seen. Very good!

Unforgiven (1992) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105695/ Never eyed a western from start to finish before. Prety good movie, but nothing special. The wild west was harsh (although always exaggerated) which makes the story / movie a bit more believable.

I liked Tigro's video. It seemed well organized, and he packed a lot of ideas in just two minutes. Wouldn't mind seeing more! :)

---

Life - man, this was legitimately rather creepy and thrilling. The alien life form was great: I could really appreciate the irrational fear and hatred it created within me. Nice characters too, they seemed human enough to me. It's like they were going for a trashy sort of monster movie but took it a little more seriously than usual, which resulted in a quite satisfying experience. Cool stuff. Also something about the ending made me smile a bit, good one.

Train to Busan: 6/10
Had this waiting for a while, finally got teh kick needed to watch it when mentioned in some reddit recommenda post where people listed horror movies that don't rely on just jump scares etc. Was mostly just a reminder of how shitty taste most people have and that I should not bother checking any of those posts ever again... anyway. People kept saying this was like a good zombie movie and not your typical zombie stuff... these people live in some alternate world I guess because it had every stupid cliche there is in zombie movies. The only thing that made it somewhat interesting was the setting to some degree. Despite all its cliches and not really living up to any expectations, it was still watchable I guess.

Lars and the Real Girl: 7/10
This was surprisingly captivating and I really loved it. Some 7.5 and almost 8 but just missing a little bit extra for it I guess. Feel like they could have done a bit more with the whole concept instead of "closing it up" inside such a small space, dunno how to explain it better. Really great and amusing and little endearing movie, would recommend for suare.

resident evil: the final chapter 1/10 - i have been pretty unlucky with movies lately but this one takes the cake, 2nd 1 star rating i give in imdb. jump scares every few minutes, action is shaky and literally 10 cuts per second ALWAYS in every action scene, impossible to tell whats happening. story makes no sense, actually pretty much nothing makes sense in this movie. cgi was good i guess, was hard to tell when stuff is on the screen for a millisecond, fuck bade

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2106651/
spectral 4/10 - nothing special, everything was quite mediocre. i think ive yet to see anything from netflix originals that i really liked

David Lynch: The Art Life - nice interview\documentary\early biography. Instead of focusing on major events, David talks more about seemingly little things that can sometimes influence us and change our lives drastically. His slow, calm and thoughtful way of speaking is very comforting and makes everything seem insightful. The film also displays some of Lynch's art and shows him working and spending time with his daughter, which is nice to see. Quite enchanting stuff overall, just like everything the guy touches. If you like him at all, go see it. :)

Going in Style - wow, good one! For some reason I was expecting a kinda shallow and unfunny predictable comedy that would just make me feel embarrassed for these great actors. But actually it's a pretty well-thought-out film with colorful characters and witty dialogues that are only a little cheesy sometimes. The biggest surprise was that it actually managed to stay tense till the very end with its effective mood changes. Cool feel-good movie, can recommend if you want something touching that will make you love life a bit more.

Split - it was thrilling for sure, and the idea seemed catchy of course. But the plot development and the climax made it seem to me like the movie relied mainly on its shock value and failed to say anything profound (it tried but ehh...) or to simply tell a good story. As soon as it ended I felt a "poof" in my head and stopped caring about what I just saw. Some scenes also seemed unintentionally funny, which makes sense considering the theme but still I wonder if that could have been avoided with better directing.

chappie 8/10 - good entertainment. when i saw the duo from die antwoord is in this movie i thought oh no but they were actually quite good (maybe because i expected them to suck mega). i follow real AI discussion quite actively and i know realistic AI movie wouldnt make a good story so i dont expect these movies to be accurate in any sense when it comes to that. quite funny at times too, chappie is a great character imo

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2461150/
masterminds 3/10 - not really funny at all. this is based on real heist and i dont know why they had to make everything over the top and dumb because the real life story had some really retarded and stupid stuff happen, for example they dropped a keyring of their car when they were swapping money from the armored truck to their getaway vehicle and had to spend ages finding the right one (dude was a guard so he had ring with +200 keys) and they didnt include this in the movie, like wtf.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179933/
10 cloverfield lane 8/10 - good one, keeps tension until the end. john goodman is always great. i didnt know this was related to original cloverfield tho, might have been shittier if i knew (if you havent seen it watching this movie is probably a lot better, or if like me you had no idea they were related) because it removes a certain element of mystery.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2017038/
all is lost 5/10 - just man on a boat/raft trying to survive, this movie has almost 0 dialogue, interesting concept but hard to execute, they did ok job but no more than that.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3315342/
logan 3/10 - very disappointing, the action is quite lame and i feel like they wasted their 18+ rating in wrong places and actual fighting is really bad, something you see in 80s b-movie action flick, expected something a lot flashier from this type of movie. wolverine is also basically nerfed to norm human in this almost, not very good for superhero movie! the movie also has kid overload, kids suck at acting and they are not cool or scary, i just cringe when i see some bad actor kid trying to act tough and intimidating

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3731562/
kong: skull island 7/10 - i hadnt seen any other kong movies so i didnt know what to expect. it is a movie about giant monkey though so i was glad to see the movie didnt take itself too seriously. john goodman again solid job and john c reilly was great as the comic relief. the only weak part was actually the two main characters and they imo got overshadowed by the supporting cast. was also glad to see that they skipped unnecessary forced love story between those two. the plot is ofc what you would expect but it was a fun movie nevertheless, i will be watching the other kongs probably in the future although i dont know if they were more serious.

The Awakening: 4/10
Carbitch movie, usual horror shit cliches etc. Nothing new or exciting, maybe 6.25% originality in story, but just not done very well.

The Space Between Us: 6/10
Mega sugary hollywood feel romance movie... when expected some oke-nise drama sci-fi gak. Still didn't mind it too much and was entertaining to some degree so eh whatever.

Get Out: 7/10
Nise surprise, very enjoyed. Good mix of humour and tension/drama/thrilleresque thing, not too cliched shit. Also Marnie from Girls :O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

24X36: A Movie About Movie Posters: 6/10
Decent documentary about movie posters (gasp). Cool art and some history, but wish they'd kept to more of the past and how things were made before, the process of the artists and everything. Instead it seems most of the movie is about this "new movement" with creating posters for old movies and the trading and selling of them. Kinda lame that it was most of its focus.

Generation Iron 2: 5/10
Follow up documentary, this time with a bit more personal approach and about the more negative sides of bodybuilding. Not as good as the first one I think, but still somehow enjoy these personalities and weirdness about it all. Not really that great but just entertaining enough I guess.

Fifty Shades Darker: 2/10
Would think with title and being sequel to the snoozefest of the first, this would been more intense thing.... Nope, even milder than first one lul. Just pure garbage writing and characters like the first one, and nothing even remotely kinky anyway. Complete dumb shitfuck

The Void: 5/10
Dame was hopeful but meh. Mega sik visuals, very reminiscent of hellraiser and clive barker kind of stuff, very old school and more gore than horror sort of. Really dug the feel of the whole movie and the way it was done and teh way it looked as said. But it was just such a boring story and events going on, very lackluster in the end.

Backcountry: 3/10
So bade story, complete dumb shit, not remotely interesting or exciting.

The Way Way Back - 10/10
This movie is so fucking good. Watched it the first time some years ago and it was very impressive, gave it a 9 back then. Today happened to catch it on tv while doing other stuff and just couldn't stop watching it. It's so funny and simple yet so emotional, there's something that really resonates with me. A feel good movie with a real meaning and story. I never give movies a 10 but after seeing this the second time I just don't know what more to expect from a film.

Indeed! It's not a 10 for me but every now and then we watch it at home and it's always a good watch. Entertaining and heart-warming at the same time. By coincidence I watched another movie starring Allison Janney yesterday:

Tallulah - 7/10
Liked the cast, liked the execution of the movie, funny, sad. Good indiemovie.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword - kinda neat to see fantasy with plenty of sarcastic jokes and stuff thrown in. The movie keeps making fun of the genre while showing "how it's done" at the same time. But perhaps they didn't take the idea far enough, as it still feels a lot like a generic fantasy movie, just noticeably more witty than usual. Still, it's enjoyable enough for one viewing. The montage parts with time going back and forth were my favorite. Also very funny moment when that lovely asshole cuts someone's ear off and talks right into it. :D

Boomer and I talked about The Breakfast Club on EOL chat. I whane hear people's opinions about teh. skint0r must have seen? One of my fav movies to just see whenever.

Btw, Baywatch (2017) - 4/10. Somewhat entertaining but not hysterically funny like I thought it would be. Prolly +1 rating cuz of Kelly Rohrbach.

Exactly 6 months passed since my last rating here, so even though WC7 took up a large part of that time, I've still managed to see a few. Monster post incoming!

Testament of Youth (2014) - 8/10
A really lovely and depressing WWII film. A great portrayal of the emotions that were at play (and a cute-as-ever Alicia Vikander :>)

Sully: Miracle on the Hudson (2016) - 5/10
Wut. Pretty vague memory of it now, but I remember that I only enjoyed the first 15mins or so (the event), and the rest of the film was a total mango filled with unrealistically stupid pricks who had no part but to be the "villain", because there has to be some, right?

In the Loop (2009) - 7/10
A great spy/political comedy. Rofled many times, and sometimes cried thinking that it probably really is like this in real-world politics ;( Peter Capaldi was amazing :D

Black Mass (2015) - 6/10
Can't remember much detail. It had a nice atmosphere, but otherwise felt like a pretty standard mafia movie. Depp's portrayal of a madman was fantastic as always.

Passengers (2016) - 7/10
The script - horrible. Level design - 10/10.

Into the Woods (2014) - 7/10
Actually a pretty fun musical! The story wasn't exceptionally brilliant, which is probably why only 7, but still felt engaging and entertaining enough.

Concussion (2015) - 6/10
Kinda meh, very typical contemporary semi-documentary film, but the impact of the story/message on me was very strong. Worth watching even just for awareness of the dangers of sports.

The Salvation (2014) - 6/10
Some hardcore emotions and a pleasant fresh (uncommon?) approach to a western, but nothing really stood out. Still a good watch.

Pi (1998) - 5/10
I really like some of Aronofsky's later work, but had mixed feelings about this one. Interesting on one hand, but unentertaining on the other. Didn't feel as inspired as his other films that I saw.

Timbuktu (2014) - 7/10
Great mood here. An unusual take on the struggles of the Middle East, which was both interesting and emotional to watch. But I don't agree with the 92 metascore...

A Separation (2011) - 9/10
...While this one deserves it (95)!!! It's really impressive how a film about such a "normal (?)" situation may have such a strong impact. The characters and the scenes were extremely relatable, and everything was so well-written and well-played that it felt like more than reality! A must-see for everyone who can appreciate something more than just blockbusters.

Downfall (2004) - 7/10
Great to see for the historical value. It was the first portrayal of WWII from the German perspective that I ever saw, and it gave me a lot of food for thought. Nevertheless, from the filmographic point of view it wasn't exceptional, hence just 7.

Inherent Vice (2014) - 8/10
This was great =D A film about drugsters of the 70's which was written as if... the screenwriter was high :p

Eye in the Sky (2015) - 3/10
God, please make this stop. Possibly the worst shit I've seen in the last 6 months. 100% unrealistic bullshit written for the not-so-intelligent.

Mulholland Drive (2001) - 9/10
Woah! I still don't quite know the hell just happened, but I remember thinking about it a lot the next day after I saw this! Incredibly tense and mind-fucking throughout, and doesn't just plainly uncover everything at the end, like Trance did for example, but leaves you wondering and wanting to see it again =) A real masterpiece!

La La Land (2016) - 7/10
In the series "How to...: ...Hype up a movie". A pleasant musical throughout, but terribly terribly underwhelming after all the hype. It was just NOTHING special.

American Psycho (2000) - 6/10
A pretty fucked up story and great acting from Bale (and a roflmao speech about Genesis :D), but otherwise eeee :| Felt a bit too dry (interpret that as you will).

Some Zemeckis stuff:

Contact (1997) - 8/10
A fantastic sci-fi movie. Reminded me of Arrival in that it had almost no preconceptions about the "outside" world, and left a lot to the audience's imagination. Very clever script, and I liked the open ending!

Back to the Future (1985) - 8/10
Dunno how I still haven't seen this :D Can totally understand why it's a klasik. Great, fun story, with lots of hilarious and relatable teenager moments :D Kudos! (Not planning to watch the sequels tho).

Cast Away - 6/10
Seems Zemeckis unlearnt to make epic films :() A great story and all, but considering its epicness, the impact of this film really wasn't strong enough.

The Walk (2015) - 6/10
Pretty much same as above. An epic story, a mediocre film.

And some others:

The Wrestler (2008) - 6/10
GG, made me really despise wrestling. It was a good film (nothing special tho), but the wrestling aspect was so off-putting that I stopped enjoying watching it.

Sunshine (2007) - 7/10
In some aspects it was quite generic, but I really enjoyed the concept and the cinematography! High-quality sci-fi.

Serenity (2005) - 8/10
I didn't watch it for a long time because the poster made it seem like a lame b-cat sci-fi movie, but finally did and it was worth it! A very bald and imaginative concept, a widely-developed world, and carried through quite deftly, despite a completely unknown cast. I wish there was more!

Hacksaw Ridge (2016) - 9/10
Woah... Quite a shattering experience. Sure, some things were probably exaggerated, but the numbers tell you they're not. I liked how gritty this film was, which affects the audience's point of view. One of the best war films I've seen.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) - 8/10
Adorable story and execution :> I forgot about the poor reviews I heard before watching it and simply enjoyed the hell out of it! Gonna show it to my kids :>

Captain Fantastic (2016) - 9/10
Damn... This one gave me more food for thought than the rest of the films in this post altogether :p Apart from being really fun, it highlights lots of extremely important parenting issues, such as should you hide certain things from your children because they are "too young"? A very wise script, and great acting both from Aragorn and the kids =)

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) - 7/10
Good, but not nearly as good as The Grand Budapest Hotel. Traditionally, some very grotesque characters were present, but the whole thing didn't make enough of an impression. Would maybe be 7.5, but not an 8.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) - 6/10
What saved this film for me was how beautifully drawn it was (and the Harry Potter memories). Otherwise a terribly generic blockbuster.

The Game (1997) - 7/10
Don't want to spoil anything, so pm me here or on discord if wanna talk about it.

Analyze This (1999) - 7/10
A good enough comedy with lots of rofl moments and dialogues, but also strengthened my opinion that De Niro is simply a bad actor.

I, Daniel Blake (2016) - 9/10
A semi-documentary about people who got fucked over by live (and the system). Very well-written and relatable, even though I was never in such a situation, but the end, simply, made me cry. My gf's whole face was wet from tears. Very sad that stories like this actually happen.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) - 10/10
<3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
Wes Anderson is my God. Everything about it was perfect, and it had possibly the best dialogue design I've ever heard, maybe apart from The Grand Budapest hotel :p Utterly brilliant in every aspect. GO SEE.

Phew, that took a while =D Also watched The Breakfast Club but gonna post that separately so that John sees :*

I didn't watch it for a long time because the poster made it seem like a lame b-cat sci-fi movie, but finally did and it was worth it! A very bald and imaginative concept, a widely-developed world, and carried through quite deftly, despite a completely unknown cast. I wish there was more!

There is more! It follows the TV series Firefly. It's one of the best TV series ever, I'm surprised that you haven't seen it yet :o It has been cancelled after 14 episodes tho :/

Not going to list ultracrap (like scary movie 5 which i rated a solid 1/10).

Eraserhead (1977) - 9/10
A Lynch classic. I had it waiting on my HDD since last November and recently got in the mood to finally watch it. An incredible and dreamy experience, which is difficult to interpret in any sensible way. It had me thinking for a few hours afterwards, and i'll definitely rewatch it some day, probably more than once. There's just so much stuff in it despite almost nothing happening and barely any dialogues.

Mulholland Drive (2001) - 11/10
After seeing Eraserhead, it felt natural to delve deeper into Lynch's brain, and oh boy was i glad i did. This is easily my favorite movie of all time now, wow. Have not been impressed this much in a long time. I feel like he hit the perfect balance between the traditional narrative structure and his own wacky and unique ways of approaching the story. The main mystery and all those additional branches are straightforward enough to keep you interested at any point in the movie, and yet they're convoluted enough to keep you thinking and analyzing for hours or days afterwards. I'm also glad to have "solved" it on my own, albeit my view coincides with the most popular one. Also, Roger Ebert, your rating is right but your understanding is completely wrong, - "If you require logic, see something else", - really? :D Wouldn't necessarily recommend this to everyone, though.

Regression (2015) - 5/10
Tolerable meh filler stuff. Emma Watson plays a super boring character and her performance felt boring too.

Funny Games (2007 or 1997) - 7/10
Felt like a huge "fuck you" to viewers, it's more like a meta movie even though it feels like a regular movie up to a point. Rated it higher than it deserves just because i'm into this kind of stuff.

Cache (2005) - 8/10
Another Haneke's creation. This one is more tolerable to watch, but at the times, i was thoroughly bored to be honest. However, the ending is peculiar, and made me rethink my entire approach to this movie, huge plus for this. Almost missed the subtle fundamental ideas behind it and almost rated like 4/10, heh.

Get out (2017) - 10/10
Won't say much. Gave it an extremely biased rating after having been starved for a good modern horror-like movie that breaks out of the tired cliches, and this was the one.

La cara oculta / Bunker (2011) - 7/10
Easy to watch, quite simple, but i enjoyed it due to an interesting idea that drives the plot, and how it hints on being a horror at first but later transforms into something different.

Grave (2016) - 6/10
Not bad, kinda unique plot, and few scenes were hilarious.

Machinist (2004) - 6/10
It are okiz, and Christian Bale is as perfect and fappable as always despite being a bit too thin for my liking :^)

Holidays (2016) - 7.5/10
It's rated quite low on imdb but i loved it. Charming, atmospheric and extremely lightweight. Enjoyed the story with Seth Green the most.

Triangle(2009) - 7/10
Eh, could be better, but is still fine if you like mindfucky movies that don't go over the top.

More Lynch stuff briefly: Blue Velvet is oke but overrated imo; Lost Highway you'll probably enjoy if you liked Mulholland but this is way worse; Rabbits are completely unrateable; Inland Empire is an excruciatingly long puzzle for the sake of puzzle with an amazing performance by Laura Dern. Would not recommend.

For something a little different you may watch Hotel Room (1993), a TV drama where Lynch directed 2 episodes out of 3.

I miss Roger Ebert's reviews, very well written although I didn't always agree. I don't read any reviews ever since he passed away few years ago :(

Glad you liked Get Out, anpdad!

Also after your review (and others') I really have to see Mulholland Drive.

Rough Night - 6/10
Exactly what you expect. Nothing too serious and with plenty of lol moments.

Logan: 5/10
Once again, Marvel killed it with 90% of the X-men franchise so far, but yet another fail Wolverine centered movie. This is the better of them I guess, but still zzzzzzzz. Generic and lame.

The Wizard of Lies: 6/10
Pretty decent, and about an interesting character. Movie kind of loses a bit of steam at some point, but pretty oke enjoyabel and nise casting compared to real people seems like.

The Eyes of My Mother: 3/10
Just complete nonsense idiot with a few oke moments.

6/10 - pretty good for vampire movie with a slightly different twist (almost whole world is vampires and humans are rare). good cast and action, plot is pretty basic but not too bad

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6023444/reference Joe Rogan triggered
4/10 - liked joe rogans other stand up special but this was quite bad and some of the subjects were hard to relate to (US based stuff). disappointing

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3319920/reference Regression
4/10 - quite boring movie for me because was obvious what was going on from the start since i have read about the "satanic panic" of 1980-90s that happened in america

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3393786/reference Jack Reacher: never go back
4/10 - everything was mediocre, cast, plot, action quite sub-bar with many cuts

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078788/reference Apocalypse Now
9/10 - i avoided seeing this for long time because thought its just another war movie but turned out i was very wrong, very good movie. i wouldnt say its very accurate depiction of vietnam war and more philosophical in nature but still entertaining and often quite funny. watched the redux version which i think has different ending and is longer but even at 3h 15min movie didnt feel too long at any point

The Mummy (2017) - 4/10
Cheap jumpscares all over the first half of the movie. Also didnt like Russell Crows' character, without spoiling it was too much...

Despicable Me 3 - 5/10
Quite entertaining altho not superfunny. Quite tired of minions perhaps?!

Mune: Guardian of the Moon - 5/10
I liked the guardian mythology, and found the movie rather pleasing to look at. Two-dimensional characters unfortunately.

Pøbler: 6/10
Some norge documentary about this project to get dropouts into jobs. Was pretty oke with interesting/weird people.

The Fate of the Furious: 5/10
Can't help myself, hev to keep watching these just for curiosity's sake. This one surprisingly decent action movie if you turn your brain off a bit and don't expect more from it.

Altered States: 4/10
Had this on watchlist since forever, lots hype and often in these lists with "messed up" movies which I sort of enjoy checking out just in case something suddenly actually weirds me out. Always disappointing lame bland shit for weak people though. This was supposedly really out there with lots of fucked up visuals and blabla, but duno where those were. Just weak old 80s effects (even weak for the time imo). Plot total idiot and non-believable, unreal characters and events. Dumb as shit.

Ghost in the Shell: 5/10
Expected it to be pretty shit, and useless compared to the anime. I guess it was a step above that luckily, and pretty oke as far as anime to movie goes. Still pretty bland, sort of lifeless somehow. Also extreme pussy and idiot to not use song from original except in some shit remix for 10s in end credits, boo.

Stir of Echoes: 6/10
I guess totally oke thriller/semi-horor. Gets a tad silly and very 90s feel at times, but mostly can ignore its faults. Apart from that, just kinda basik plot thing without too many surprises, but entertaining enough for a spy for suare.

The Way Way Back: 7/10
Just norm feelgoad movie with some oke humour and mans in it. Not teh greatest but just enjoyed mostly all of it still in some way.

Kong: Skull Island: 5/10
Better than expected, but still kinda eh. Gets a bit stereotypical with army mans ignoring warnings etc and being stubborn, woaw such original exciting, really wander how that ends!!1 Felt any kind of seriousness could invest in teh movie was gone as soon as they got to island and they somehow refused to just fly higher with helicopters. Sort of realized they would just keep doing stupid shit the entire movie like norm in every shit movie that cums. Was semi saved by surprising with additional elements besides apeman which was coal. Also usually hate such comedy relief mans in movies but somehow very like John C Rreilly man here and oke laughs. Kept interest throughout the movie despite its flaws, so still oke spy I guess. I guess could check out sequels when/if they cum.

Dunkirk - 6/10
Overhyped war movie. Looked pretty good (4K) but story-wise kinda meh. Couldn't actually care less about main characters, there's no backstory being told, hardly any conversation where we get to know them and the good deed in the beginning might've just been to save own ass. Actually watched this twice because the first time I had different expectations so I wanted to see it again when I knew how it was. Pretty poor rating the 2nd time around, almost fell asleep a few times :( Put 7/10 after the first viewing, changed it to 6/10 after the second.

Baby Driver - 8/10
Very entertaining, pretty cool action, hilarious jokes and lines (many quotable). Looks good and fitting music. Not the strongest 8 but I still recommend it!

Completely agree with John on Dunkirk. Maybe I would even go as low as 5/10, but it wasn't a subpar movie. It was just the heavy weight of disappointment that hit me.
Wanted to make a review vid, but im lazy as shit.

John Wick: Chapter 2: 6/10
Not as good as the first one, but oke brainless action. A lot of silly stuff going on with lame characters, but it's all sort of over the top kind of thing so not take too seriously anyway. Main "idea" of this whole world still somewhat interesting despite all its flaws and unbelievable gaks. Just entertaining enough to not suck too much.

Alien: Covenant: 3/10
Pretty terrible. Think manage to fit in like every single sci-fi spaceship with planetary mission trope in existence. Somehow always incompetent brainless psychologically unstable people who gets these jobs on the crew :^). Norm don't pay attention to anything they do or touch in alien places, panic from everything and scream like turds while not doing anything useful. Malfunctioning AI or ship etc., woaw. Everything in this is so predictable it's not even funny.

4/10 - disappointing. a lot of what made the first one great was missing and the characters were shitty. in first one everyone, even the main villains feared john but now seemingly everyone is coming after him no problem? half of the population seems to be assassins and some other wtf dumb things like john getting shot in the stomach several times close range no problem because his tuxedo made from titanium or something.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6333060/ icarus
8/10 - excellent documentary about the state sponsored doping russia got caught for (and doping in general). they really went to amazing lengths to cheat the system but this doc shows that there is a lot of corruption within the anti-doping organizations as well and that dopers really are light years ahead of testers. after watching this you will think that every top athlete is cheating (and they probably are).

Moderately interesting scifi gak, extreme obvious happenings and renaults for everything of course, but it was decently tense and oke stuff in it if just ignored cliche stuff.

Norm Macdonald: Me Doing Standup: 5/10
Think one of funeyhst comedians and very love him humour, but somehow this standup not very like his usual self and kinda boring. Seems to be funeyher when on some show or podcast or do non-standup things.

The Wall: 5/10
Not very goad but somehow entertained enough to spy through and didn't hate completely. Kinda very silly axualy but whatever.

The Bad Kids: 4/10
Documentary about some high school fuck ups that get second chance at some special school thing. Kinda max boring people in this and nothing very interesting about anything here.

The Breakfast Club (1985) - 8/10
A fantastic depiction of teenage problems. Shows to adults very well that what is seemingly trifling for them may be of utmost importance to their kids. I think I know/see that as someone in between, who still remembers what sort of stuff is important for a kid, but is already beginning to see stuff from the adult/parenting perspective. Very wise movie imo.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) - 9/10
Haven't seen any HP since the last film came to the cinemas, so I thought it was high time to revisit the series. All I can say is: :')))

Manchester by the Sea (2016) - 5/10
Afflect got WHATTT for this role?!!!?!??!?!?!!!!?! If had no expectations then would say: oke film. But this was supposed to be a great one, worthy of two oscars and 96 metascore, and compared to these expectations it was SO BAD JESUS. Worst lead acting I've ever seen. Maybe would say "was oke" if hadn't seen Affleck before, he's exactly the same socially and emotionally dysfunctional douchebag in every role he plays. So many disappointing scenes too, scenes that should squeeze waterfalls of tears from the audience but instead only got me to think "who the fuck wrote this". Not gonna look at this again.

Trainspotting (1996) - 7/10
Was also time to rewatch this after many years. I think my previous rating was 5/10. Rewatched mainly because back then I thought I was probably too young for it, and I think I was right. Now I'm not too young any more, but I still don't think it was brilliant in any way. Emotionally strong, and somehow witty at the same time, but didn't have as strong an impact on me as Requiem. Still, some klasik grotesque characters (Begbie :D), some brilliant acting from McGregor, and some 10/10 boobs :>

Dunkirk (2017) - 7/10
Before I start... I'm a massive fan of Nolan's films, and so far every one of them either blew me away, or was at least very very good. Until this one...

It was definitely a disappointment. Agree with John about the reasons. Production-wise it was fantastic, as could be expected from Nolan. The visuals, the music, the sound, all great. Every scene in isolation is probably brilliant. But, unfortunately, it's not a bunch of isolated scenes, but a 2h-long historic film. And as such, it just didn't work. It didn't work as a documentary, because it lacked detail. It didn't work as a historical film, because it almost entirely lacked historical background that led to the situation, the circumstances around it, and most importantly, the events that led to the final turn of events were almost entirely omitted in the film. It also didn't work as a loosely-historically-based feature drama, because it didn't follow any particular characters, and as such made it very hard to relate to.

For me it lacked a core thread of story that would literally take the film from the start to the end. We got to know several characters, but knew neither the background nor the motivations of any of them. Their stories were tangled, but because of the messed up chronology with no points of reference in the first half of the film, it was actually very hard to figure out when and how those stories tangled. The music throughout the whole film belonged to a climax scene, which worked well to keep the tension up. But for how long can you keep the tension at the extreme level?? It needs to build up, then reach its peak. Here it reached its peak almost straight away, and then tried to stay level, but instead gradually dropped off, and the ending... Was the most anti-climatic one I saw from Nolan. Everything ended well, splendid. But we only found out because some guy read a newspaper, and actually, considering what was actually shown in the film, it may've come as a surprise, because none of the scenes indicated that would be the final outcome, and it wasn't shown at all how that outcome was achieved! Did those 20 little fishing boats cross the channel so many times that they managed to transport several thousand soldiers? Or did the military change their mind about saving their vessels for the future? Or did they manage to find some other vessels to help? And how on earth did they manage to actually cross, since almost every ship that tried to cross that was shown in the film was bombarded and drowned? I really wanted to learn something more about the course of those events, but I didn't, and that's quite disappointing.

Still, it's a 7, which for my is a very good film. The design and cinematography of most scenes was breathtaking. But the lack of content coherence story-wise was disappointing, considering the director.

Not as great as the first one, but still loved this even so. Just simply loads of fun, and silly in a good way. Awesome visuals and just cool characters, really loving the whole universe and setting for everything.

Atomic Blonde - 7/10
A weak 7 but still better than expected.

Emoji Movie -
Unable to rate as I fell asleep and slept through 60% of the movie. Was quite unfunny the parts that I saw.
