Very nice, but there's something about popular music which just doesn't speak to me, like there isn't too much thought driven behind the limited chord progression. The songs speak with words rather than music most of the time, which can be quite distressing. However, really nice quality recording VJ, where did you get to record teh?

Well you are absolutely right on that. I guess I would play more complex compositions if I could. And would sing if I could! I have my keyboard and pedal connected to my computer with midi cable, so the sounds are coming digitally from the computer itself, hence the goad sound!

i never really thought of it this way but i see now why piano players pwn at elma =) the quick timely key placements and such...

but one strange thought i had was" what do the internals sound like on piano." if you gave space bar "note C", left volt "note D", brake "note E" ,(obvisouly you would have to study your comp keyboard setup and go from left to right in ascending order, so it makes sense) ect.. and then tabbed out the key strokes and timing to warm up(would be a 14,00 song) flat track( would be a 14.88 song) etc... i wonder if it would sound like music. does anyone follow what im saying? maybe gas could be a chord :P i dunno, it would be quite the awesome project... apple harvest would be a symphony lol !!

I guess if you hug someone really hard you might push the air out of their lungs and into the trombone, so in a way you might be right.

Anyway, I really liked the pieces. I'm not smart enough to do analysis or sach, but they sounded good in my ear and are therefore good.

Well, the Scherzo is a simply binary form, so not as complicated as you expect. For a larger scale work you'd usually expect some sonata form or symphonic form of some sort with more complex harmonic progression. There was a lot of diatonic planing and chromaticism here and there, but theoretically I don't think it is too complex. The part writing however took a more intimate knowledge of the instruments.

Also: Lousku, the horn player didn't... ;)

Pretty easy piece for trombone, the ossia notes aren't TOO bad, especially if trombone player had a bass trombone. Without it you'd just take the primary notes anyway :P

Nor is the range too bad at any parts... except m252-258 would have taken a lot of work (6 bar phrase with no spot to breathe, very high, huge dynamic change and half of it at ff)

It is a cool style of writing for brass because it is very articulate and brass players tend to be good at this kind of on-the-beat notes followed by rests, where you can belt out a single note/few notes and then already be in a rest to get ready for the next one. Means you can make your tone sound awesome pretty easily, it's also exciting to listen too.

Will play along later, atm i'm too lazy xD
