Blind typing

Post by teajay »

Is that the correct way to describe this? I don't know. But anyway, I'm trying to learn this: http://www.snopi.com/bt/bt.asp?line=1&lang=eng&view=eng.

Who can type like that? I feel like a moron that I still can't do this.

I use mostly 10 fingers but nat in teh way you're "supposed" to. Went to some course for 10-finger typing and it was impsy. Useless if you can type faster than most of those 10-finger-übermensch already, and whotegak can't? o,o
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?

I use 7, I am not used to use small fingers and left thumb. Or sometimes i use right small finger for right-positioned keys.

I can type pretty fast, but I still see the advantage you have with a more systematic approach. I type with 7 mostly.

Not too hard to type at 90-100wpm these days. Touch-typing is crucial for speed and efficiency.

Thanks for that tip! I'm gonna try this for sure. I typed through all those lessons in that website mentioned before, and it's now a lot easier to type with 9 fingers. It's not that fast yet though! :P

I use four fingers and same as Zweq for letters q,a,z where I use left ring finger. Right thumb for space and right ring finger for enter.
I got only ~80 wpm.

I even bought this, considering the philosophy behind the program that people who buy tend to learn it faster and more succesfully than users of pirated versions. And yes, that really works for me, because that money is really precious to me. I typed this message with lots of errors and backspacing, but with the use of 10 fingers. Slowly learning to type without much effort. Thanks for that tip, analcactus!

I started to take lessons too, but needs more time to get desired effect, because i can type pretty well even without 10 fingers, and the lessons add more letters slowly...

I wonder how you can not use your ring finger for most uses of x and s, also I use right ring finger whenever I use o, p, l or ^ ¸ ` etc. and letters like u, h, b, n, in the same second. It's really hard to describe how I type though because the fingers move so fast and they know much better than me where they are going and why. It actually feels a little big vertiginous to try and analyze what my fingers are doing while I'm typing, lol

I do average of 50 wpm with 1 error mostly. That's starting to get better. You guys are really fast, though!

edit: did 59 wpm now, with 1 error still. That is close to my old typing speed with lots of flaws and correcting.

I learnt quite early in my typing career the system, in order to be able to type without looking. My foresightedness payed off in that regard. :)
