Post by Mawane »

Trying to set up a stream on EOL but according to my viewers, video is lagging bad comparing to other streamers. Which settings should I change and to what value?

Never tried, but this 2mb/sec looks too much.

If you aren't already, try playing in windowed mode. I couldn't get it to work nicely without windowed mode. Also check the local file if it is lagging too, or is it only when viewed through the stream.

I have streamed elma with OBS, but no software seems to be able to stream Elma in fullscreen.
Are you sure you have the server with the least ping (closest to you) selected?
I can check what settings I have when I get home.

And don't use resolution downscale, set reso at Custom resolution (where you have 1920x1080)

Server Ping (for OBS) to see what server is best for you.

These settings works for me with elma in windowed mode, and make a game capture on eol.exe. However I get very low fps ingame and a tiny lag when I play.
Elma is simply not made for streaming -.-

And if you gonna stream in 60 fps you need higher bitrate than 3000. But many older computers/internet connections in elma scene can't even handle that so I would lower the fps if I were you.

@VJ
I didn't manage to get colors in the stream when playing full screen, black screen, anyway I want to play windowed unless I get a new monitor, but if it doesn't work properly, no problem, can play windowed as well.

I lag when streaming myself, not sure why with my somehow beast computer, its all about tweaking and I suck at it... the lag feels like when playing 30fps. I don't know how much others see my lag, leek was testing with me and he compared to other streamers. His laptop kinda sux, but when watching other streamers, he had no problems.

About checking the local file, am I supposed to save a video from my recording with those settings from that software? Otherwise, not sure what you meant. I'll try that if Bjenn's suggestions don't work.

@Bj
About the selection of the closest server, I'll compare distances from me, but New York seemed to be closest not thinking too much about it, I'll just verify.

Thanks in advance for letting me know the settings you have.

Alright for the resolution downscale, I just thought about using it for lower file size. I'll compare and see if it really changes something.

Yes tick the box to save the stream in a file and check how the file looks. With some settings my local file was also very laggy so that could help to identify whether the problem lies in the connection/streaming or the capturing of the video itself.
