From what I understood mila saying new version won't use udp at all, only tcp, so there will be no need for port forwarding.

Actually it's possible to reroute traffic to some kind of proxy, but I'll not be the one who tells how to do it, because of two main reasons:

- then berh (whoever that is) will be able to bypass;
- then people like Lukazz will make a talli of themselves.

So that does make a difference? I thought the network architecture remained the same...

P.S.: if you've got problems with port forwarding, why don't you ask here? I've took the time to write a tutorial just for this!

could implement the ability to create target time balles, e.g. i start this level, and the first one to get under 32 seconds wins (only if the author of the level know the target time is reasonable), or else the best time when the normal countdown finishes.

/just an idea

p.s. i don't play elma anymore, so i don't care... just a little bit interested in the scene :)

Yes, I run belma under ubuntu with wine, without modifications whatsoever. It's quite a bitch though since it's buggy with the loading screen, and in my experience laggy when using at high resolution. Alt-tab won't work aswell.

I chatted on belma about One Wheel battle mode and people agreed to say it would be more fun than usual "no brake", "no volts", etc.

What do you think about it?

So how are you supposed to drive to the other direction?

Death just when both wheels touch the ground. I remember the one-wheel internal contest, driving like that is actually pretty hard.

Yeah, I meant that it should be 2 wheels at same time = death instead of front wheel touches ground = death, because pressing spacebar would equal pressing escape, which isn't desirable.

[09:48] <Mawane_TR> I've noticed that I'm not alone to have the LGR problem.
[09:48] <Mawane_TR> When switching between lgrs
[09:49] <Mawane_TR> could you fix it for next version of belma? because there was no problem about it in previous version before belma
[11:21] <teh_mila> yes its fixed
-
[08/11/21 18:41:33] <Mawane_TR> hi
[08/11/21 18:41:40] <teh_mila> hi
[08/11/21 18:42:13] <Mawane_TR> i chatted with people and they would like One wheel battle mode
[08/11/21 18:42:22] <Mawane_TR> is it hard to make?
[08/11/21 18:42:26] <teh_mila> yes
[08/11/21 18:42:39] <Mawane_TR> will you make it?
[08/11/21 18:42:53] <teh_mila> no
[08/11/21 18:42:59] <Mawane_TR> it would be more interesting than current modes
[08/11/21 18:43:08] <teh_mila> for 5 mins
[08/11/21 18:43:17] <Mawane_TR> bah...
[08/11/21 18:43:40] <Mawane_TR> how long to make? 1 week? 1month? more?
[08/11/21 18:43:46] <teh_mila> no idea
[08/11/21 18:43:49] <Mawane_TR> ok
[08/11/21 18:43:59] <teh_mila> not very well defined
[08/11/21 18:44:10] <teh_mila> with which wheel can you touch and so on
[08/11/21 18:44:58] <Mawane_TR> so there will be apple count in next version?
[08/11/21 18:45:12] <teh_mila> yes

[08/11/21 18:50:39] <teh_mila> wont do anything with teh atm
[08/11/21 18:50:52] <teh_mila> if i decide to, i would redo whole system

[08/11/21 18:42:22] <Mawane_TR> what do you think?

three things:

1) mila, check your pms

2)
milagros wrote:[about the fps-limiter patch] you won't be able to change fps during run
so you won't be able to change fps during run... but, it doesn't protect somebody using an external tool to change the fps back and forth, right? in other words, when somebody do a wr, is the rec checked to see if the fps he used was constant?

3)
Zweq wrote:The third level that needs this prog is shelf life, again because of removal of the kpd [keypress delay], which mila said to be around 10ms with 50fps or was it 60fps, I didn't quite understand the technical part. anyway shelf life hole becomes harder the higher fps you have. With 300 it barely went through the hole anymore. Let's take me who always plays with 800 fps, I mean 99% of the time. With 800 fps I can't get under 40 in shelf life because of the hole, and with vsync on I feel so noob that I can barely get under 37. The fps matters less now because there's no kpd, as long as it is under 300, but some 250 should be decent fps, because the bike is acting about same as 800. 250 used to be normal fps back in 02-04, times change people, we have to adapt. No way I'm buying some 700mhz processor.
do you people think should the default value be left (1) at the refresh rate (often 60) or (2) at somewhere near 200 or (3) things more important than that...

i read somewhere on this forum that fps changed don't take effect until after you exit (b)elma.exe

you can change fps during run with timer on/off (dunno if it has an effect). so it would be stupid to test replays for that.

actually it does.. With my older windows settings it was like 60fps and 500fps :P

but now it almost doesn't affect it.

I hope I got your message right, I said it does affect and so did you, so we agree right? :)

60 to 500 is really much, I experienced something like 200 and 300 or fuck like that and I thought it was much.

for argument's sake, tijsjoris, turning the timer on/off affects the fps. I don't know what kind of comp you got over there, but here it sure has an effect.
