hex editing elma v1.2 (resolution fix)
hello everybody.
im currently playing elma (ive downloaded upgrade from v1.0 to v1.2 very final), on my monitor of 2560*1600 resolution. the resolution i need is not present in ElmaConf12wide (maximum available is 1920*1200), so id need to put it higher.
ive downloaded hex editing programs, but i think id need a decompiler first to see where the resolution setting is located (in elma.exe). then i can hack the file by choosing my own resolution setting.
can you help me? i dont know in what language it is written, so im not even sure where to begin. thanks

Re: hex editing elma v1.2 (resolution fix)
just play elma in 1920*1200, it's not like you have to use same res as in windows.
Re: hex editing elma v1.2 (resolution fix)
or with 1280x800. Should be good reso for elma with 1xzoom and then both of the numbers are half of the screen's native resolution so probably the pixels won't blur.

1440*900 (available) - normal-sized pixels
1680*1050 (available) - normal-sized pixels
1920*1200 (available) - normal-sized pixels
2560*1600 (twice 1280*800) - bloated pixels
3840*2400 (twice 1920*1200) - bloated pixels
5120*3200 (quad 1280*800) - excessively big pixels
7680*4800 (quad 1920*1200) - excessively big pixels
if someone ever learns to self edit, reply here and i'll be notified by email. thanks

I tried with 12000 x 8000 and sadly I couldn't see anything.
This makes me think about it: has someone ever plugged his comp on a 40"+ TV to play elma? With dolby surround and max big screen, must be insane headbanger experience.

Where the hell could you get a 12000x8000 pixel device?

There were some pic uploaded once of abula playing on a projecter, also there has been some playing on projecter at a few danish elma meetings.
I sometimes play on my 32'' TV.

Re: hex editing elma v1.2 (resolution fix)
playing on tv/projector results in bigger image, but not necessarily higher resolution.
normally, pixels are smaller on computer displays. e.g. playing valve portal on wuxga.

It was a joke, it was meant to increase my post count. Actually it was more to ask if someone had ever played on a TV.welle wrote:Where the hell could you get a 12000x8000 pixel device?
Re: hex editing elma v1.2 (resolution fix)
I actually did, I have a picture of that somewhere. Looked fun indeed.
