Drinking beer out of a bottle

I have discovered an axiom of my personal being. When I drink beer from a bottle, I usually hiccup (and mostly my first sip results in this). I think it has to do with me closing up the opening of the bottle fully when I drink. My brother for example always leaves a few square millimeter open for air when drinking from a bottle. I don't. So my plastic bottles always crumble up when I drink from them, very annoying when sitting in class.

I have more bizarre feats in my bag for you, but for now I'm curious: how do you drink beer from a bottle, and do you hiccup often (while drinking beer)?

Learn to drink nab, you're not supposed to put the whole opening of the bottle into your mouth. It looks stupid too. Put upper lip in front of the bottle mouth, then you can have the whole bottle upside down and still air goes in. Learn from your brother, he's obviously the smart one in the family!

Also plastic beer jugs tend to crumble up, then the beer like spills to your upper lip, that sucks.

yea, this is the only answer you needed.
and as SveinR said, how the hell you drink from a normal glass.
you do realise you dont have to turn the base to the sky to get some liquid flow, so even with your top lip off the top there is no need for liquid to touch it.
btw, weirdo, drink wine or something if you can handle the hair on your chest

lol epic nostalgia.. i remember my dad told me not to drink like that when i was maybe 5-6-7 years old.. when i got some cola from him.. so no saliva(spit?) would get in teh bottle.

though to teh beer thingy.. I don't drink beer =OOOO but i guess same goes for any bottle. I drink like a man.

When need to get drunk fast, i open bottle, get my mouth wide open, 2 glugs and beer gone. takes about 3 seconds. if done faster, i puke the foam out. Nowadays just enjoying the bear by drinking the normal way, lips around the neck, and zip every now and then.

one time i had no bottle opener and i was visiting the united states, walking down the road near the airport after the strip club with my freind spencer and a 6 pack of corona and i tried the way to open by putting top of bottle on the edge of something and hit the top to pop the cap off. well i was quite drunk already and broke the whole neck off. I drank it anyways, had to do the pour into mouth method and it got sloppy all over my face cause i was too drunk to aim.

dont really know why i wrote this two back then, sry. so i finally managed to read whole topic and:
how the hell can you drink from a bottle without leaving any space for air :O sick
and to the opening bottles: ez learn to open em with your teeth, you have to bite (?) the cap with your back (?) teeth max strongly and then lean the bottle. kinda ez, and veeeery useful skill. cane open a bottle everywhere at any time

it's called skill, pawq. Either way, I've been drinking way too much beer lately, and to put this whole issue aside I might stop doing beer and start doing whiskey. Less calories.
