Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
Is it just me, or shouldn't this forum have another forum-section in which we can have a thread for each internal? Because at the moment, people ask for help in various levels in random threads. I think a thread devoted to each level will make it easier for people to discuss styles and help eachother. It would also make it easier for new people who come here looking for help, since it'd be easier to find older related posts.

+1 to Igge, max idea
Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
People keep asking about styles or problems in internal levels in random threads, or they start their own threads in random forums. I guess the latest example would be the "tag bug"-thread, but there are also many minor discussions about styles and tricks in other threads and forums.
Wouldn't it be better to collect all style discussions in a forum specificly made for them? And then to have a thread for each internal level, simplifying the search significantly, if someone is looking for help in a level?
It would benefit both the "searchers" and the "helpers". The searchers could easily find what they're looking for, and have all help they need gathered in one single therad, whereas now where they'd have to search like every single thread in 5 different forums to find all previously given help. Also, it'd benefit the "helpers" alot too, since they wouldn't have to repeat themselves over and over again in 5 different forums, since everyone could find their previous posts.
The forum for these internal levels threads could also include a thread for external levels, where people can discuss styles and help eachother in externals.
Again, I don't know how many feel this is necessary. But what I do know is that without such a forum we'll continue to hear random discussions regarding internal levels in threads where we don't want them.
And you might think a single thread for all internals might be enough? But then imagine a year from now, if someone new comes and needs help in say, Bowling. He'd then have to either scroll through 14 pages worth of help in all the internals, or he'd have to make a new post. And if a similar post had been posted before, someone would of course have to re-post the answer.
Anyway, this is just my thought. If you think theres something potentially bad about this idea, please tell me. However, I cant see how adding such a forum could hurt in any way.

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
Not a bad idea. It does have more purpose than the late russian subforum.
For the externals, no need to bother.

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
and all this help should be transfered on the elma wiki with example recs, commented videos and/or simply text
well this has been suggested earlier but I guess nobody has strenght to collect all the information or write by himself
igge's idea is very nice but it seems too much to do, imo, it would seem easier to divides the whole project in many parts to share the work among the community

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
How the hell could creating another forum and adding 54 threads be too much to do?
Also, if possible, I think the threads should be like stuck in numerical order, and not change order due to new posts.

Can you add remove post option? Once I type something stupid there is no way to delete it.

No, but you can edit the post at least.

I suggest to remove possibility to register on mopolauta for a certain period to avoid the spammers, dunno if that's possible

becomes annoying for me too...Igge wrote:I'm gonna have to ask the lauta crew, and by that i mean SveinR, once again to increase the pm limit, please. I'm getting tired of that 'release all on hold messages' message, and i don't think increasing the limit to maybe 150 will affect lauta that much, in a negative way, anyway.
Oh well, nothing major really, but would still be pretty nice. <3

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
yo, been checking it out for like an hour and so far i think its awesome.
i use a few other boards that are very similar but this one seems to flow just a little better. so 10x from me
btw, there is no way you need to hold 150 pm on lauta, you have 150 pm's you just cant delete? and if they are that important you should back them up online, you dont need them to sit here in dataspace

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
Wtf, Pawq, writing a subject for your PM takes 2 seconds and helps the other person retrieve that PM easily and know what it is about without having to open it. You can't send a PM with no subject simply because it has no common sense.

as i wrote before, it should be up to writer

And if writer chooses to do that, they're simply stupid.

I think you can't disable subjects using admin panel. Anyway I don't know how this certain forum works.

Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
I think these messages are just max useless (and annoying):
"This message has been deleted successfully" "Return to previous folder"
"You have been successfully logged in/out" "Return to the index page" <---especially this :X
...and all others. I only want such a message if some error occurs when I try to do something. Anyone else felt this?

Good point. You win.
Re: Mopolauta with phpBB3
Two requests:
- Increase the session timeout/length. It's annoying when I'm writing a post and when I press Submit, it requires me to log in because I didn't do anything for a while.
- Allow PMs to be sent to more than 5 people at a time. Something like 20 should be enough if there has to be some limit.
