You could try doing this: http://www.freewebs.com/piperecords/totaltimes.htm

Had completely forgotten about that. That way there's another type of competition in JoPis. Not just single times.
I like Haruhi's suggestion too.

i know this isnt for the site but maybe get rid of the records on the first page of this topic since they arent up to date, kind of confused me at first.

Those ranks in the OP would be max nice to have next to your name on the site.

-recs saved to db, user can choose if his rec is public for download or private in user profile
-maybe those achievements
-maybe some stats

those i think would be cool to have, then i would consider the site done, it would serve the purpose simple and easy, not worth more effort for one levelpack. of course layout and such can be improved pretty much forever

i would agree that a stats should be done for how many pipes are completed because it would give someone whose not very good at them more incentive to compete in one way or another.

JoPi-levels: http://up.k10x.net/xmqzibrduttdh/JoPi.zip
Added levels 45 and 46 in there today, 46 is one of the hardest JoPi-levels to date. adi won the 21-min battle with 35 apples and later managed to finish it in 41.44 I think, not sure about the hundreds.

I also updated Grades. Last Grade-system was heavily flawed since it only counted number of WRs. So basically there could be one General and the rest would be ranked Private. Now it's much more balanced counting number of top10s instead. Check first post.

Future plans for JoPi:

Making a video of all records (if recordholders would submit recs of cuz)

Making JoPi50 a chainpipe where anyone who has a top10 on the site can participate in the designing process. Like those who want in send me a 5-15 second segment of a level and I stitch them together adding name of designer next to each piece. Would be like a "Marathon 2". But that's for later, don't send yet.

Read news:
"Old recs uploaded before this new system cant be downloaded. because of that i might add soon a possibility to delete your own rec(s) if someone wishes to re-upload his rec for publishing purposes."

Thanks BoneLESS, all the credit for the site goes to zamppe tho

Woot, Jopi33? Yeah my rec was not finished and I accidentally "tried" to upload it. The system said something like "Not your best personal time bla bla" and that it failed. But seems not xD Se there is bug in the system, I'm not rec editor!

well the upload thing is 100% relied on the script by mila, translated to php my viper guy. That function returns the time of the replay, so theres something wrong with the function or belma changed .rec structure.

well ill just remove that time for now

oh why does the times link not work =) has it been like that all night, or did I just break something ;P

Well I think it gives you the time of the replay, but it doesn't check if it is finished? Or you don't have anything like if(recnotfinished) echo "rec not finished" else mysql_add... you know. Maybe you can just try to upload a non-finished rec by yourself and see that I'm nat xiiting!

I remember when I did my nindex site it didn't check if the rec was finished either. I didn't fix this though because nobody sent in any records! So it's a bug in the script I'm pretty sure.

Re: JoPi - A Pipepack from John

Post by Zweq »

well this is a part from the script. AS FAR AS I KNOW this is made by mila/vk/skint

Code: Select all

.
.
.
/* For each event, read info and check if $k is 0, i.e. touched flower
			   $j is the number of the apple or flower, $d is the time of the event */
		for($i = 0; $i < $no; $i++) {
			list(, $d) = unpack("d", fread($f, 8));
			list(, $j) = unpack("V", fread($f, 4));
			list(, $k) = unpack("V", fread($f, 4));
			if ($k == 0) {
				$time = $d;
			}
			if ($d != $time) {
				$time = -1;
			}
		}

.
.
.

		/* If the replay is finished, do some weird calculatinons
			   and set $outtime to the time in the format 0:00,00 */
		if ($time >= 0) {
			$i = $time * 62500 / 273;
			$outtime = sprintf("%01d:%02d,%02d", $i/6000, ($i/100)%60, $i%100);
		}

		/* Else, $time is -1 which means the rec is not finished, and we set $outtime to null */
		else {
			$outtime = "";
		}
.
.
.
aight it says if the $k is 0 then it's touch flower event. if that's the case then it stores teh time in $time, otherwise $time will be -1. then later on if the $time is -1 then the $outtime will be empty string. $outtime is the return value. so it's obviously not working the same way as it says in the comments. I dont have knowledge on the lowest/binary level, I'm just saying it's not working the way it is said in the comments.

So either ppl like mila, totem, smibu could maybe say something about teh .rec structure, like if it is changed in belma and how to edit the script then. the alternative is that jopi site gets shut down

ok im gonna be honest here. I did some tests and noticed sometimes it does return unfinished time and sometimes not, so I did some 10 tests and now I know how to get those times in table. Sorry skint0r but I had to test on your site also and the result covers my tests.
http://skintatious.net/times/skint/

im not sure how to fix teh bug, i kinda need help of one pro called milagros :)

Kazan earned the Clean Sweep0r-achievement today, which means he now has a top10 in all JoPi-levels. Congrats dude, u caught me by surprise :p

Other than that it seems Boomer is going strong towards the Colonel-grade, only 2 more levels to go. Pab keeps improving JoPi13 and now lead second place by almost half a sec.

JoPi49 is in a first draft-kinda mode. 2 first pipes are pretty much done, rest is still to be made.

Only 3 left to go. Next on to-do list is jopi46.

And by the way, any particular settings to be able to make that stupid launch start on jopi28 (Shooting star)? I managed to not die maybe 2 times in over 200 tries.
