hey guys this is not a pasta-with-random-sauce challenge !!
i'd like to see more evolved cooking

for example right now i'm making a cake with leeks, dried tomatoes and feta. This kind of cake is interesting because:
- it's always good
- you can imagine your own recipes, based on your fridge contents
- it is ok to eat it several days after you made it
- often it's even better, warmed, the day after

That sounds good! Last week I made a huge bowl of soup with onions, leek, rice, pasta, chicken (drumsticks), and pork. I ate it for 5 days in a row and it got constantly better! No photos, sorry.

I usually try to go for quantity as well, as making food for an entire week saves a lot of time and money. Made this yesterday, but couldn't be bothered uploading pic then, but I guess since you mentioned this I might as well do it now. What I do then is try to vary sauce or whatever I have on this food, maybe one day sweet and sour, next i go with pesto. Third day something else, you know, just to spice things up.

Also, that's pretty much the only good thing about living in Sweden during wintertime; you can store any amount of food on the balcony (as the temperature outside is close to that of a refrigerator) in order to save space in the real fridge.

I do, and that's a great idea! I probably won't be doing it this time, however, as I will be gone during the weekend, and I can't be bothered making it during a weekday since it takes some time to make dough etc, but I will definitely keep it in mind the next time I make something similar.

Btw, what if we made a poll in this topic where people could vote for the best dish of the month or so? This might inspire some to make even better food, and also taking pictures of teh and explaining what it is. This way I think this thread could be a nice source of inspiration for when you don't know what to make for dinner ("Oh, I'll just make whatever won last month, that dish looked sweet!"

Took pictures from my dinners from this week to upload here.

Omelette
-with chicken, cheese, onions, spinach and stuff
-omfg this was good
-onions were from my parents's farm

Bread cheese with lingonberries
-this is like the most quick and easy satisfying meal ever, just eat the bread cheese you bought with lingonberries
-bread cheese is some traditional Finnish thing, I don't know if others have this kind of cheeses

Minced meat steaks with gratin
-in steaks onions, cheese and stuff
-in gratin vegetables, onions, cream and cheese

Salad
-ham, bread cheese, mandarins, a persimmon etc
-was surprisingly good and I expected it to be good

Chicken with wok vegetables
-chicken with wok vegetables

Delivering traditional Christmas ham picture tomorrow, post your holiday foods here!

Image

Edit: So here it is. 12 hours in a baking oven with around 150 Celcius starting temperature gradually cooling to around 100. After that I removed some of the fat and did a mustard and breadcrumb coating finishing it off in the oven.

The taste is always good and it really makes Christmas, at least for me.
