Municipality signs

Post by teajay »

We all know the insanity of pexi going around finland. He's a maniac. http://pxx.fi/
I've been thinking of doing the same thing though. Should be somewhat easier than in finland. But we also have like 440 municipalities. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... 1440px.png

so, should I do this?

YES
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

I would rather spend my money on trips abroad and do this on a bigger scale (visiting as many countries as possible and taking pics of "Welcome to ***"-signs at airports or such. That's what I would do at least.

nah.. no.. I was thinking about that. But the chase is better than the catch. Cycling through holland, imagine that. I guess I should give it a try.

Yup, that's my thought. Gonna wait for some warmer weather, though I plan on making a start doing a round in the neighbourhood and shoot the local signs or something.

true. But to discover one's own country is something worth to do. I've been through europe almost everywhere but for the alps, uk and balkan. Along the coast of brasil. Amazon, waterfalls and shite. Time for some sightseeing in the 'hood. Also, nice challenge :D

True, maybe more interesting I admit. But travelling around in oneself's own country is a great idea if there's any interest to do that. Probably plenty to things to see there too, safer, cheaper etc.

EDIT: oh, tj just posted about these things too o/

OKAY, so I will do this. In the past 3 years the Netherlands lost about 20 municipalities, so the task has become easier and easier! Tomorrow first day of shooting (photos that is)!

It's holland, does it matter? But to answer your question: at the moment I'm living at my parents (omfg, yes I am) in Purmerend, but I'll probably be living in Utrecht by september again. If you're hitting my country be sure to send me a notice in advance as we can then go out or someteh in Amsterdam. I've got a friend living there where we can crash.

On topic again, I'm about to pack my luggage, exciting!

So, I've had some minor setbacks. First off my injury from running the marathon is still present, unfortunately. Cycling is okay, but I am still so much slower than I used to be and it starts to hurt at about 50 km. Secondly the weather was horrible. So much wind and kinda cold too. So don't laugh: I only cycled about 35 yesterday and 75 today. Anyway, still got 8 of them:

Update! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 000&type=1

Had a fun trip past few days. Bit exhausted, the weather was a times horrendous - cold, wet, windy - but at other times the sun shone, so all in all great fun. I've now collected 47 signs, so it's going pretty well: 11.3% ready. This is a fun game :)

<Pawq> at a gym you have only 3 options: 1. have your eyes closed, 2. stare at yourself, 3. stare at others, all of which are either super boring or disgusting

Been a while since I posted here, but progress hasn't been that quick, sadly.

95 municipalities: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 000&type=3

154/408: 37,75% (some municipalities have merged with others starting 2013, this makes the task slightly easier ;).

Maybe I will make a book or something when I finish this. Sell it. ;D
