Uphill Climbing Limit

Post by badyl »

I've been wondering what is the most steep hill you can climb in Elma and that's why I prepared some test for you. I made 11 levels in which I calculated precisely the angle of a hill. First hill angle is 35 degrees, last one is 45 degrees and all of them differ by 1 degree. I want to see which of them are possible. If it turns out 45 deg hill is possible I can preper 46 deg hill, 47 deg hill and so on. Share your results, recs and opinions.

I think 45 is ez assuming its to the right? I remember someone making sach level constantly asking zweq and nek to try them, dunno what they managed. I think they got to some 60??

This level is approximately (comparing to the hills you gave) 47 degrees and you can climb it, i think i have seen some bit steeper hills climbed by zweq as well. As igge said, 45 degree hill is really easy with alo.

45 is kinda near to the limit in left hills though.

tested this with nek and some other dudes a few weeks ago. our conclusion: 50 is possible, 51 is theoretically possible but humanly more or less impossible, 52 is impossible.

Can anybody show me some levels with such steep uphills which have been finished (even with SL)?
In the meantime I made 46,47 and 48 deg hills. It would be cool if some pro player proved it's possible.

admittedly much harder than i thought, cause it's not just climbing up, but also stoping and changing direction from going down to going up, but i did it now.

yes, turning is super hard, hilling itself is not. The start should be down the hill to make it work.

This style levs are best because you have to start climbing from 0 speed.

i thought this thread is about what is climbabel, not what is turnabel. I think that what is climbabel is also turnabel, but harder to pull off. Anyway 50 deg was proved to be climbable by many mans with few mins of tries, i think 52 deg could be next to try, 51 dont even have to be tested imo because 50 is so ez.

If you could kindly prepare a 52 deg lev :)

Off-tropic side note: Back in teh CS days about 40 years ago I used to put a litel piece of blu-tack in the middle of the screen, because you don't have a crosshair when using AWP without scope
