Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - 8/10
Re: IMDB votelists
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - 8/10
I find this an Interstellar of the late '60s. Watched it a bit tired so it seemed boring at times, but I have to admit that watching this in the cinema back then must have been an exciting experience.
Unbroken (2014) - 3/10
Complete trash. I have no idea what this movie wanted to tell me, what was it supposed to be about. About a pilot? about a castaway? about a prisoner? ... strange movie, not very good debut of A.J.
Arena (2011) - 2/10
Watched for the lulz. Wasn't very lulz. was completely shit.
Sharknado 2 (2014) - 1/10
Another gem into my 1/10 collection. I have no idea who is retarded enough to make such a movie.
Oliver Twist (2005) - 7/10
Beautifully made Dickensian London, great props, oke acting, interesting in general.
Insurgent (2015) - 7/10
Somehow I like this series. Even it is typical BS young-adult dystopian novel which floods today's bookstores and movie shops, I found it at least interesting to watch, with all of its mistakes and errors (which are present pretty often). But it is not a complete puke material, so I guess I'll watch teh some time again with somebody. Needless to say, I am displeased by the new trend of splitting the last piece of trilogy into two movies. What the hell is that...

Re: IMDB votelists
Yeah I gotta agree with that. Harry Potter started it, and it was sorta needed for the way they chose to do things. Although not really. Sadly this started a new trend in the world of fantasy-esque franchises aimed at teens, where the producers get one last opportunity to milk it for all it's worth. Most amazing imo is Twilight, they managed to adapt one book where nothing happens into TWO movies where nothing happens. AND PEOPLE SAW THEM. Jesus.Tigro wrote:I am displeased by the new trend of splitting the last piece of trilogy into two movies. What the hell is that...
Imagine:
Batman: The Dark Knight Rises - Part 2: Back Excercises
Furious and Fast 26 - Part 2: A Day at the Races
Prince Caspian - Part 2: Even MORE Bad Child Acting
The future of movies looks grim...

National Gallery: 3/10
Sounded like it would be quite interesting, ended up being quite boring and felt super pretentious in some way, or maybe it's just the people in the movie, I don't know. The content felt like it was missing something; there were several times they showed some restorations being done etc., but with absolutely no explanation how anything is done. The whole thing is super minimalistic without any narration, which could be ok, except it wasn't. oke.
I Know That Voice: 6/10
Not really that amazing, but just getting some faces to familiar voices was rather fun. Content is a bit fluffy but I enjoyed it.
Das große Museum: 3/10
This was in the same vein as National Gallery, actually felt eerily similar as if the same people were behind it, maybe there is some connection or perhaps it's all a coincidence. Again the same problem with having some interesting concept, but focusing on weird things and not giving any backstory behind anything. The people in this museum are even more pretentious and dislikeable, their arrogance and the way they treat other people as lesser beings around them is kinda disgusting. Might just be selected editing being done though. Anyway, pretty boring.
The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?: 6/10
If you've seen the pictures of Nic Cage as Superman floating around lately, this gives a lot more insight to the whole thing. The guy behind the film is not a very likeable interviewer at all, but the content is terrific. Super (he he he........!) interesting details about everything around the movie and how it came to be, or rather not be at all. Actually made me really wish they had made it, because it sounded like it could have been... something.
A Royal Hangover: 6/10
This was quite sad, interesting, and something I guess. Worth a watch probably.
The Culture High: 6/10
I've watched quite a few documentaries on this subject over the years, usually they are quite shitty and extremely biased, but this seemed like a nice exception to that. Well presented and was interesting to watch. 6/10 blaaze it.
Murder Party: 5/10
Damn I really wanted to like this movie. The start was incredible and I was so excited to keep watching, but they completely fucked everything up after the first 15 minutes or so. The humour vanished and suddenly you didn't like any of the characters at all. Had some very lol moments though. Even if I don't give it the highest rating, there was something strangely enjoyable about it. Just a shame they botched it so severely, this could have been some 8/10 movie easily.
It Follows: 6/10
Wow, a horror movie that has something new to offer? Great concept, creepy and original. Yet they made too many mistakes with the story they had available to them, and put too many horror movie cliches into it. So sad. Another movie that could have been 8/10 or more easily if they had put some more effort into setting themselves apart even further with the great concept. Still worth a watch I think.

Ted 2 - 7/10
Even funnier than the first movie. I rewatched the first movie a couple of days ago and while that one had more chuckle jokes Ted 2 had more lol jokes. Some say Ted 2 is more similar to Family Guy which is maybe the reason I liked it more. Anyway, haven't laughed this much at a movie for quite some time.
Entourage - 6/10
Went into this without having seen anything of the series. Quite entertaining but I guess you'll get more out of it if you know the different character traits from the series already. Still a funny movie, also kinda cool to see it just after Ted 2 as Mark Wahlberg is producing and cameoing, Liam Neeson playing himself in both and they reference Ted (by name) in Entourage.

Re: IMDB votelists
Kung Fury: 8/10
Put off watching this for quite a while even with all the hype. Just imagined it to be some shitty "funny" stupid youtube thing with not my type of humour. It was beyond all expectation. Great 80s action movie nostalgia with nods to a lot of different 80s things. Super retarded and silly, but done in the right way anyway.
Ted: 5/10
Had this around forever, but since the second one came out, figured I should finally watch it. Was quite meh and typical Family Guy humour, ok if super bored I guess.
Penguins of Madagascar: 4/10
Terrible cash cow thing it seems like. Not a huge fan of the Madagascar movies anyway, but usually laughed at penguin stuff. Figured this would be funny to some degree but it was pretty shitty and formulaic, just a funny moment here and there at the most.
Furious Seven: 4/10
Well had to watch the final one too of course since I already for some reason watched the previous ones. There's really nothing interesting in this at all, story is maybe even weaker than in any of the other movies (if that's even possible), and nothing to make up for it.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2: 3/10
I guess if you like the first one, then you might like this. I didn't though. Idea is something that could have been funny, and I even like the characters/actors to some degree, but for some reason they managed to do absolutely nothing with what they had available. Not really funny at all.
The Secret of Kells: 2/10
Holy shit this was so fucking terrible. I heard a lot of praise about it, "oo amazing story animation woaw" etc, and then realized it was the same people that think Bastion and Braid is the best video games in the world and circlejerk about anything that has this pretentious air about it. Story is pure shit, unoriginal and the animation looks like shit to me but whatever.
Sandwiches That You Will Like: 7/10
Was a surprisingly interesting documentary. Nothing too serious, and it was funny seeing all the crazy food shit they have in the US.
Deli Man: 6/10
This was somewhat interesting too, but the story felt like it was more focused on the whole jewish immigrant thing than actual delis and diversity. It just felt a bit off what I was expecting and like there was some weird agenda behind it, dunno. Still nice though.
Hotline: 6/10
This was pretty good, but a bit scattered and random. Max respect to some of those people that volunteer and do this stuff, some of the people in the documentary seem super nice and likeable.
The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief: 7/10
I quite liked this documentary too. Gave a really interesting insight into this whole lifestyle and phenomenon, and gave some food for thought. Sad, weird, funny, creepy, not sure what to think about the people in it. Niiise.
Uranium: Twisting the Dragon's Tail: 7/10
Nice documentary, and nice man that you might have seen from his popular youtube channel. The whole dragon thing was pretty retarded, but you can kind of ignore that and enjoy all the information and interesting look into everything to do with uranium and things associated with it.
Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy: 8/10
This went beyond all expectations actually. It was interesting as fuck. I'm by no means a huge Nightmare on Elm Street fan, and yet it was super interesting to me. Maybe you need to enjoy movies and behind the scenes stuff to like it though. Gave a lot of amazing insight into how the movies came about, the issues they all had and made me actually appreciate them a lot more in hindsight. They don't skirt around anything too much and you get honest opinions from most of the people involved in how some of the movies were rather shitty. Really great, super recommend if you have 4 hours (!) to spare. It went by really fast honestly and I almost wished it was longer.
Unser täglich Brot: 4/10
I guess this is similar like Food Inc. except without all the forced opinions and stuff, plus more European-centric view of the food business. Or maybe not even that, since it's just a lot of images of how food is made and stuff without any narrating or information. Shows some of the "bad" stuff, but appears a bit biased anyway. Just meh really.
Ônibus 174: 5/10
This felt way longer than it needed to be, but the situation itself was interesting I guess and I never knew about it before watching this. A lot of unnecessary fluffy details in some attempt to make you sympathize with the guy, and despite how shitty things might be for those kind of people in Brazil, somehow I just couldn't give a fuck still. Also Portuguese is a real strain to the ear for me, hard to enjoy a documentary in that language ._.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - 5/10
Felt a lot longer than it really is and didn't really catch my attention. [MINI SPOILER]Also kinda boring they started off the whole movie with this mega hyped stunt with Cruise hanging off the plane. Would've been more exciting if they would have built up the tension for that later on.[/MINI SPOILER]. I guess as production goes it's well executed but story never really interested me.

F for Fake: 1/10
Woaw, documentary by Orson Welles, must be amazing! Nope: wat da faq shitty movie, no idea what it was even about and had to shut off after like 15-20 minutes.
Pitch Perfect: 7/10
Was better and funnier than anticipated. Anna Kendrick +1 to rating as usual.
Pitch Perfect 2: 5/10
Quite shittier than the first one, lost some of its charm. Even Anna couldn't save this one!
Graphic Sexual Horror: 6/10
Was quite interesting and little fucked up.
Kink: 6/10
Same subject matter, different perspective with a little crossover as well, also interesting.
Kingsman: The Secret Service: 4/10
Heard a lot of good about this, but no idea why. Pretty shitty all in all. Don't get how this has so high rating at all wtfffff...
Tusk: 4/10
Was oke for what it was: joke project for fun. Could even have been a little good/funny, but ruined it with suddenly making it so unserious.
50/50: 7/10
Liked this one, pretty funny cute etc and good feals all over. Also Anna Kendrick........
Soupçons: 8/10
Those 6 hours went by really fast, very interesting documentary and got stuck watching.
The Staircase II: The Last Chance: 7/10
They made a follow up to the documentary, wasn't quite as good as the original, but was nice to see how things turned out.
We Are Still Here: 5/10
Even though there wasn't too much original stuff in this movie, it was quite well and gave a little different flair to it all. Story was too hard to follow or understand properly though, and ended up being a bit too messy.
In the Mouth of Madness: 6/10
Rather funny concept/story, but the movie didn't age too well I think. Things felt a bit too silly and sort of ruined the feeling, and the effects are rather terrible. Liked it for whatever reason despite all its flaws though.
Truth or Dare: 5/10
Pretty generic horror/thriller/whatever movie, nothing too surprising, stupid characters etc. Despite all that, movie wasn't completely horrible though.
The Final: 5/10
Just check previous movie's text, same for this.

Fantastic Four (2005) - 5/10 This is the old one, still pretty meh. Didn't watch the new shitty one, and probably won't. Ever.
4: Silver Surfer (2007) - 4/10 Worse than first.
Princess Mononoke (1997) - 7/10 I thought it was gonna be 8 or 9, but after watching this, even it was very oke, I couldn't just get some parts of the movie, it just seemed that events were happening randomly and causality was a bit broken. But very oke Hayao movie.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - 9/10 Completely enjoyed whole time watching this. It was exactly what I expected it to be and it was amazing. Fun from start till end, action and epicness, a bit of hilariousness, no extremly overdone plot, just basic stuff for ease of mind and chillax in sofa for max enjoyment.
Good bye, Lenin! (2003) - 7/10 Very fine funny drama, mainly for those who hane no idea about how socialism worked in GDR etc.
Citizenfour (2014) - 8/10 Great story, more real and scary than I thought it would be.
V for Vendetta (2005) - 7/10 Very oke, was entertaining and interesting, fun and chill.
Selma (2014) - 6/10 Oscar? Well, oke movie, but after seeing dozens of black-man-white-man movies it just didn't entertain me enough.

True Story (2015) - 6/10
Thrilling, but didn't like the ending, feels like things are left out, but then again it was based on a true story so they can't work it out more than that.

Sinister 2 (2015) - 6/10
I saw its predecessor couple months ago and was really surprised how good it was. In fact, it was the best horror film I've seen in years, basically because it was scary in a very peculiar way - no peekaboos etc., just buliding tension and dark heavy topic. I was really megaexcited about the sequel but felt a little disappointed after I left the cinema. Sinister 2 was much more mediocre horror film than Sinister, though still better than 90% of horrors nowadays. It wasn't as scary, had more peekaboos (which is actually the cheapest way to frighten anybody) and had more snuff movies, while Sinister dosed them very carefully and I liked it. This time I felt like all they wanted was to show as much as possible shocking death scenes. I expected more, though still consider Sinister to be one of the best horror franchises of previous years.

Southpaw - 8/10
The most enjoyable movie I've seen in a while. Great acting and interesting story. I was max tired before the movie but had even more energy after it.
Inside Out - 4/10
Immediately after Southpaw we went to see Inside Out. Promising intro with clever and funny jokes and introductions of the concept but after the intro it quickly lost track. The movie turned quite random and the different emotions didn't stay in character. Had trouble staying awake.
Hitman: Agent 47 (2015) - 3/10
Boring. Had max trouble staying awake. Didn't grip me at all like Southpaw did for example.

Un moment d'égarement (2015) - 8/10 so fun
Re: IMDB votelists
Dark Places - 5/10
From the same author that wrote Gone Girl this movie is starring Charlize Theron in the lead (as well as producing). Could definitely see similar plot structure/dynamic or whatever as Gone Girl but in the hands of someone less skilled than Fincher the result wasnt as good. The actors are merely OK, even Theron. Moretz I cant take seriously in these kinds of roles. Still quite decent, somewhat slow-paced but always slowly progressing. Initially I put 6/10 but when I thought of it as 3/5 it sounded too high so 5/10 it is.

Southpaw (2015) - 7/10
Re: IMDB votelists
Mama: 5/10
Somewhat decent horror movie, but just not very exciting or terribly original in anything that it tried to do.
Panic Button: 2/10
Oh another movie with some people stuck together and get in some mysterious situtation... maybe it'll be a good one for once. Nope. Usual stuff with having to add annoying stupid characters and everyone doing the least logical things imaginable.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop: 5/10
After having seen so many dank maymays and everyone making fun of this movie, I figured I should watch it just for kicks. With zero expectations of anything good, it was surprisingly decent. I mean it's still just a really low-brow comedy movie with silly stuff happening in it, but I actually thought it was somewhat funny and just fine for what it is.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2: 4/10
Of course I had to check out the newly released sequel too! It was strictly worse and didn't have quite the same charm as the previous one, but really not directly horrible or anything. Just very background movie material.
The Sunset Limited: 6/10
I'm still not completely sure about this, maybe a 6.5ish rating could be deserved. I enjoyed it and it was captivating enough for me to sit and watch two people in a room talk together for 1.5hrs, so can't fault it too much. I think what ruined it the most was how unreal the conversation felt, like some writer's runka dream going on. Pretty good though!
Locke: 6/10
In similar vein as The Sunset Limited, only taking place in a car with a guy talking on the phone while driving. I found it marginally better though, quite captivating as well and surprisingly interesting. Ending left me kinda dissatisfied but oh well.
ATM: 3/10
Holy balls there are a lot of plot holes in this one. Maybe not quite plot holes per se, but just the sheer amount of ridiculous decisions being made by everyone. Bland characters. Just kind of bad overall. Concept is nothing new, but it was vaguely original in the way it tried to do the concept. Just sort of failed pretty hard with it.
Mad Max: Fury Road: 3/10
Dude, double-u tee eff... Made me feel like I'm in some alternate reality, where somehow people think this is amazing. I think I could write a novel's worth of things I hated about this movie. The only thing keeping me from just rating it 1 is that it's reasonably well filmed and produced, can't deny it looks good. Too bad that's all it has going for it. Like holy fuck this movie just infuriated me with how terrible it is. Wow, so bad.
Brake: 5/10
Pretty fucking dumb, and hard not to compare it to Buried. Despite that, kind of liked it, or at least kept me entertained enough. Horrible ending, and somewhat predictable, but fuck it.
Avengers: Age of Ultron: 6/10
Really not a fan of the Marvel superhero movies at all, but it wasn't half-bad. Maybe I was just in the right brain-dead mood to enjoy it, who knows.

Very entertaining =)
Had one very annoying long scene where everything was blinking, I'm not an epileptic person but I almost thought I would have a seizure there ;D

Beautiful Young Minds: 4/10
Saw the director behind this documentary made a movie a while back based on this story, so decided to just check out the documentary. Was pretty lackluster without any real meaning or stuff, but some interesting characters I guess. Problem is none of them is likable in any way and you just don't really give a shit about most of it.
Cruel & Unusual: 2/10
Premise of this sounded very interesting, unfortunately it isn't at all. The movie is sort of all over the place, never really knowing where the fuck it's going or what's happening, and nothing makes much sense. Maybe others could appreciate this though, but I hate those movies where you never know what's real or not or what the fuck the deal is.
Chef: 6/10
Just a really simple feel good movie, like nothing about this is very good directly, but I didn't mind it anyway since it didn't try to do too much fancy shit.
Alone in the Wilderness: 8/10
Documentary based on this guy's own footage from when he went into the wild and built his own cabin by hand. It's pretty much right to the point, no needless crap, just interesting footage of someone really handy. Pretty neat.
Alaska: Silence & Solitude: 5/10
I guess a sort of follow up documentary based on the previous one, but a lot of reused footage and nothing really super interesting taking place, where they just visit this guy and check out how he lives and stuff.
The Frozen North: 3/10
A third one, this one just based on nature footage from the guy, randomly spliced with yet more already seen stuff and some crappy voiceover narration that doesn't really fit much. Felt really lackluster.
Hitchcock: 6/10
This was alright, felt like the acting was a bit weird and things was a little over the top, but guess it was interesting enough for a watch through.
Saving Mr. Banks: 7/10
I really liked this one. Nothing too incredible or mind-blowing about it, just easy entertainment and some interesting characters.
The Marinovich Project: 4/10
ESPN has this documentary film series called 30 For 30 where they highlight some historical sport moments and stuff. This one is about a kid that was sort of "grown" by his father to excel in football and the issues he dealt with because of it. Wasn't really feeling this one and it felt a bit shallow or bland in some way, like there wasn't anything super dramatic or exciting about the story. I don't know, maybe some football fans will like it.
Love Hotel: 6/10
Documentary about love hotels in Japan. Interesting seeing some behind the scenes shot and the whole phenomenon about this thing in Japan. They picked some interesting people to use in the documentary which made it more entertaining. Nothing amazing, but I liked it.
Un coupable idéal: 5/10
Crime documentary about a case where someone was wrongfully accused. Just very meh. Kinda fucked up case and makes you realized how many people suffer from this random shit, but it was just kind of boring really.
Thor: 5/10
Well having seen almost all these shitty superhero movie and Marvel stuff, figured I'd try out these last ones remaining, where two of them are the Thor movies. Was slightly better than expected all in all, not very good, but not super awful either I guess. Just oke.
Die: 2/10
LOL =D So bad, horrible acting, horrible story, horribly directed/edited, so shitty. Kept me barely wanting to finish it, so guess a 2 instead of 1.

Whip It - 6/10
Ellen Page playing a girl whos trying to find herself and stand up for who she is. Ellen good as usual. Supporting cast of very variable level. Drew Barrymore directing.
No Escape - 5/10
An OK 100mins thriller/drama/action movie. It managed to create some kind of suspense even though Owen Wilson played lead. Not 100% liking the way some events played out which damaged credibility of the movie.

Straight Outta Compton - 7/10
I had high hopes for this after hearing all the hype around it. For example both of the major theatre companies in Sweden fought to get this movie in their line-up, both even posted especially about it on social media when it was a done deal. I'm not that into the story of N.W.A but I do know some of the backstory about Death Row Records and all that, however I don't think it matters how well you know the story, I think everyone can appreciate this movie for different reasons. Even my girlfriend liked it and she hardly knows any backstory. Don't have the energy to write a long review but it was a good biography movie for sure.

Veronica Mars: 7/10
I put off watching this for so long, in fear of it ruining my memories of the show or that it would taint it somehow (looking at you Dead Like Me...!). Thankfully it was pretty decent, at least assuming you liked the show, you will like this too I think. Had a lot of nods to the series and the nostalgia factor was pretty big. Good stuff. Also Kristen Bell so automagically +1 already.
Insidious: Chapter 3: 6/10
I liked the previous movies in the series, and thought this was just as decent. It's nothing amazing, and it's your basik horror stuff with a few cliches and whatnot, but at least compared to all the other shit out there, I think these movies are pretty alright. I just liked the general atmosphere and stuff in these, so could maybe understand if others didn't like them for the same reason. Just oke entertaining enough and not pure megashit horror, good enough.
The Innkeepers: 6/10
One of those rare occurrences where I actually gave a higher rating than the average IMDB rating. Nothing too amazing here either, but I quite enjoyed the feeling of this and the setting/story. Again, nothing super original or anything, but I liked the characters in a way and it had some funny moments. Pretty oke horror imo.
Mientras Duermes: 8/10
I really liked this one, lots of suspense and in some weird way you almost want the bad guy to get away with it for some reason. This is more thriller than horror really. I got really hooked from the beginning of it and enjoyed it all the way to the end for the most part. Nise.
Relatos Salvajes: 6/10
Not really a huge fan of short stories, but these were quite interesting and funny, without too many boring moments. Was just oke entertainment, not mega.

Re: IMDB votelists
O yes reminds me forgot latest many weeks ago:
The House of the Devil: 4/10
Dame, this started out so good. It had this SIK nise 70/80s throwback feeling the way it was filmed, the soundtrack and characters, and I guess even the story in some way. Like there was no way you would guess this was made in 2000s. Unfortunately somewhere along the line they seem to have ran out of ideas or something, suddenly in the last minutes of the movie it turned into complete shit which pretty much ruined the entire move.
Thor: The Dark World: 6/10
oke had to watch sequel thing too. Even going into these movies expecting to hate it max, somehow it was still quite oke. Not great, not good, but oke. Maybe it's more 5/10 but at least I wasn't bored to shit while watching so I'll give it that.
San Andreas: 6/10
There's like nothing special or amazingly good about this, but watched and enjoyed it for the most part despite being quite bad.
Terminator Genisys: 6/10
Dafuq, another Terminator movie, really? Was initial thinking. Like no way they could even make a remotely decent one again. I quite liked it, at least compared to any expectations. Seems like even the worst Terminator movies are still good as I've rated them all above 6 so oke.
Jurassic World: 6/10
Really was expecting a lot more than this. I wish they had made the story a little less predictable and cliche, but I guess in a way the movie is geared towards people who haven't grown up with the first one or the shitty sequels? Duno. This was definitely overhyped as fuck anyway. Didn't hate it though so there's that.
CT Fletcher: My Magnificent Obsession: 1/10
CT who what now? I guess mostly friends and family rated this, because this was pure shit. I couldn't even sit through it all and just had to stop watching. The documentary feels like it has no reason or gives you any hint of what it's about, the guy seems like an annoying narcisistic douche and just bleh.
Mot naturen: 6/10
I think maybe need be litel norwegian to get all humour in this, but dame I was really loving this like crazy and laffed very much. In the end the story got weird and not as funny anymore, and kind of fell flat. Still good though. I think closer to 7 than 6 but just hated the ending parts too much.
Southpaw: 6/10
Pretty factory made story and stuff, but not horrible. Just terribly boring and predictable in everything.

The Martian - 8/10 seemed a little too long movie (02:24). ppl flyed in space for few years, i was waiting for drama but nothing happened wtf?? but actors were oke and movie is good.
Re: IMDB votelists
Pan - 4/10
Was ok in the beginning but as soon as we got to Neverland it got dull. Couldn't be bothered what happened on the screen and had trouble staying awake. Actors so-so.

Re: IMDB votelists
I had kinda same feeling about nothing happening, but on the contrary, I wish the movie was much longer. It was just really amazing and Matt Damon's humor was insanely great. I laughed at almost every dialog/monologue of his. I would even rate it 9/10, even though "nothing happened". I liked the first 1:30 of the movie a lot, casually planting his own potatoes on Mars and eating them with ketchup, because why notKazan wrote:The Martian - 8/10 seemed a little too long movie (02:24). ppl flyed in space for few years, i was waiting for drama but nothing happened wtf?? but actors were oke and movie is good.
Re: IMDB votelists
Predestination (2014) - 7/10
After the opening and getting me into the story (about 15 minutes in), I was able to say everything that would happen. I even knew the first time I saw the violin case that there is in no way a violin, but some sick device of sort. It's a very good movie, it just didn't deliver the casual mindblow as everyone around me was saying it would.
Tomorrowland (2015) - 5/10 I was very disappointed by this movie. It promised so much. Didn't deliver at all. Wasn't even funny or what. Just some crappy sci-fi with no real epic story or whatever. Also, Hugh Laurie underperformed SadFace.
The Martian (2015) - 9/10 On the other hand, the Martian was some serious piece of art there. Going to movie once again left me dazzled long after, was very excited and enjoyed myself the whole time. Interesting, funny, entertaining, not boring, pretty 'real'. Amazing work with props and environment, camera, tech, etc.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - 3/10 What the heck was this piece of dragon crap? Again just some cheesy jokes, shitton of CGI, no real acting or anything... The Marvel universe makes even less and less sense after creating such crossovers and I don't like it at all. The plot is totally ridiculous, dialogues are at most mediocre... Hell, I am disappointed (I almost wrote 'af') very much.
Jupiter Ascending (2015) - 4/10 Actually, It really was better than Avengers AoU. Mila Kunis also is a plus. (Scarlett J. is ofc great as well)
Home (2015) - 5/10 I was pretty bored watching this. Not my style of an animated movie... It can be funny for someone, I just didn't like it. Oh was talking like JarJar Binks, which made it even more annoying. Then I realised he was dubbed by Jim Parsons and that grill was Rihanna, her mother was Jennifer Lopez. And what? . Srsly... It didn't lift the standards at all.
Rest in peace, YIFY and team

Minions: 7/10
Seems most people hate the minions, but I actually love them and was looking forward to this movie for a while ever since I heard about it. Guess I just like the stupidity of it all, who knows. Thought it was funny most of the way through, nothing amazing in terms of the story, but wasn't expecting that anyway.
Cartel Land: 7/10
Pretty good documentary overall, though it feels a bit back and forth and incoherent in the storytelling.
Inside Out: 8/10
Had about zero expectations as I hadn't seen any information about it and what it's about, apart from hearing it was supposedly good. I really loved it and it made me cry, so goad movie.
Europa Report: 6/10
Had never heard about this at all before, it was just mentioned in one of the latest Tested videos on youtube where Adam Savage mentioned getting a prop from the movie so I decided to check it out. It wasn't half-bad, but it was sort of missing something. I don't know quite what. It was pretty engaging and entertaining despite its flaws though. Maybe worth a watch if you like this sort of stuff for sure.
Pressure: 3/10
So bad. Shit story, shit actors, shit writing. Not remotely suspenseful or exciting.

Re: IMDB votelists
They finally had enough? Their movie copies are trash, very low bitrate. You see huge difference when comparing their 1-2 GB files to the real deal, SPARKS for example ~9 GB files.Tigro wrote:Rest in peace, YIFY and team
Re: IMDB votelists
I had downloaded exclusively YIFY torrents, it's sad to hear that they are gone. I would definitely not call them trash, I don't know why would you hate something that you're not even using in the first place. My internet speed and storage is not that massive to afford to download 9 GB movies every time I wanna watch one.
Bjenn: Are you sure that you're comparing the same video type (BR rip to BR rip) and not two different types? Because your comparison looks really weird to me. But if you're correct, I didn't know that same video format with a different bitrate could change its size by that much in the case of BR rips. Or does anyone else know something more about this? John, skint? (sorry for being off-topic).

Re: IMDB votelists
Didn't even know about this whole YIFY thing until the other day Tigro mentioned in #across. No idea about their quality, but sounds like something I'd never consider downloading quality-wise. I can see why other people would though. For 1080p rips probably 5000 kbps is minimum unless special circumstances before it goes too low quality (special circumstances being animation or very low motion movies and such random stuff). Then 1h 30m movie would be around 5gb. 9gb is certainly not unheard of for 1080 rips and longer movies (maybe some 8-9000 kbps bitrate).
If they were 720p rips then 1-2gb isn't too terrible, maybe a bit low but watchable for sure I could imagine. "Normal" 720 rips are usually in the 2-4gb range (like 2500kbps to 5000kbps bitrate for decent quality).
As for bitrate changing the size, it's obvious when you think about it probably It doesn't matter what format, codec or what kind of movie it is. Bitrate is bitrate no matter what. 5000kbps would make twice the filesize of 2500kbps.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation: 5/10
Pretty average blockbuster action movie, just oke wathcable.
Kraftidioten: 6/10
More like 6.5 for me, was pretty funny and nice atmosphere/story. Little over the top and unbelievable, but done in a fun way.

Re: IMDB votelists
I know what I'm talking about, I made DVDRips myself when I was younger, same size and even better quality than DiAMOND group, however that was xvid.culinko wrote:I had downloaded exclusively YIFY torrents, it's sad to hear that they are gone. YIFY only makes BrRips, just take a look at top 100 HD Movies in thepiratebay
Re: IMDB votelists
Oh, I was just downloading 720p BR rips which usually had around 1-2 gigs and the quality was sufficient for me on my 15" notebook But I understand why would someone want better quality, if they have the means to get it. Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.

Re: IMDB votelists
The reason I was sticking to YIFY/YTS/Otto was because the quality I can get out of my notebook is shit even if it was milion kbps and 4k resolution (old pc, speakers dying, 3.5mm dead already, too loud fan, bad screen). I certainly do not think that their quality is somewhat a cinema experience, but if you wanna watch a movie on your ntb before falling asleep and saving it to your (almost full) 1TB external HDD, then 2 gigs with such a quality is totally sufficient. Also not mentioning that my download speed is immense, but can go for 10GB a day limit only. This way I am able to DL 2-3 movies a day if i whange.
I even watched many of these movies on a videoprojector with big amplified speaker (MadMax for example) and the experience was still very worth it (considering I pirated the whole thing).
Update on YIFY status: MPAA claims that they shut down Popcorntime.io as well as YTS.re. The fact that YTS wasn't built on a p2p network, rather on New Zealandian server, it's probably gone for good.
Watched Jodorowsky's Dune (2013) - 8/10 a very good document for everyone that loves Frank Herbert and his literature. You just keep wondering how would sci-fi look today if his movie was released back then. Just for thoe who don't know what I'm talking about: Dude had a completed film, but hollywood refused to shoot it. It had great screenplay, great artists and actors etc. etc. Most of the artists later worked on the Alien (Giger), Prometheus, Star Wars (O'Bannon iirc), Matrix and many other cult movies. If you are a Dune lover, then this is a must watch. You'll probably cry.
