I don't see how A=B implies anything about whether A is binary

Is this what we call asynonyms, just like asynchronous

Re: What do you think about women in general?
ok, if it doesn't, and the correlation between sex and gender is 100%, is there an intersex-gender or are all intersex-people either of male-gender or female-gender?milagros wrote:I don't see how A=B implies anything about whether A is binary
Re: What do you think about women in general?
I believe all intersex people has a gender, but simply more hidden because of missing the defining factor. Anyway people can choose their own gender these days. It would be extremely strange if someone wants to be undefined.
Re: What do you think about women in general?
The problem here is that neither gender, sex nor sexuality is binary. We are ourselves, and that can involve a lot of different fuckery.
Well, except if you live in Russia. In Russia there are only straight male and straight female. Everything else is a myth.

i've never defined my genderMats wrote:I believe all intersex people has a gender, but simply more hidden because of missing the defining factor. Anyway people can choose their own gender these days. It would be extremely strange if someone wants to be undefined.
nobody ever asked me and i didn't know till maybe 10 years ago that there is such "option"
i'm not sure what it means if i defined it - should i then piss in women's toilet if i defined myself as female-gender or what?
actually maybe i can't defined myself as female gender-ed, because "female" is only a social construct:)

what does your passport say?
Re: What do you think about women in general?
What kind of logic is this? Of course the correlation is 100%, because gender roles and all that shit are based on your actual (or perceived) sex. If your sex is indefinite, then so are your gender roles etc. Sex and gender are the same thing, they just refer to different aspects of it.Lukazz wrote:yes, but doesn't your "sex and gender correlation is 100%" imply, that there is a definite sex-category for everyone?
Re: What do you think about women in general?
No and no. You can have a dick but have an indefinite gender. You have to stop thinking about it in a binary way, it's more like sliders.Madness wrote:What kind of logic is this? Re: What do you think about women in general?
That's where you are wrong. You confuse gender with gender identity.
Gender = "The state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones)."
Gender identity = "A person’s perception of having a particular gender, which may or may not correspond with their birth sex."

Re: What do you think about women in general?
I don't think there's separate words in Finnish either, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_and_g ... istinction
