Does here anybody play Warhammer by Games Workshop?

Discuss, argue, whine, talk but not about Elma.

Some time ago a friend of mine told me about warhammer. It sounded pretty cool, he showed me the armies he had. It's nice too see, but so expensive. And I don't have the patience to paint all these things.
Maybe you can post some pictures of the armies you have?

Surely its expencive, very expencive, but if you play it as a hobby I think its okay.
It makes lots offun to paint your figures.

you can use http://www.mxb.dk/upload.php to upload small files.
But on http://sectorzero.zapto.org/pubupload/ and http://vk.mine.nu/vkprivupload.php the files will be deleted after one hour. So you shouldnt use those two on this board.

pretty nice painting, but it is a little bit hard to see.
A friend of mine, from who I got elma btw, paints warhammer too, and he has bought ALL the sorts of paintcolors from the Games Workshop, like 100 colors or someyhing. 8O

He's now working on some army of gay-colored spanjola's (don't know what race, something human-like. It's not 40k, but original warhammer.)

I collect/collected warhammers too. I have Lizardmen, I have about 30 small figures and 2 big figures painted, and quite some small figures not painted. But have no one to play with. Got the game and plates to play on from my big brother.

You have a very big army then, jesus christ 8O .
I especially like the way how you painted the flags, very detailed, also overall it is nice.

Thx - but if you think this is a very big army, then I must inform you, that on the pics you only can see 1/2 of army...
And there are ppl who make my army look tiny, those have more than 1000 figures! :o

Did anyone of you ever join a Warhammer battle?

i played epic 40 k when i was younger... ive spent so fuckin much money on that until i got an 8000 pts ork/chaos army...
the good thing about tabletop games is that its different every time you play, and that you can chose your own units and all that shit...

bad thing is that especially GAMES WORKSHOP games are simply a rip-off... there are other tabletop games of which the miniatures are of equal or even better quality and cost only half of the price.

next thing is that GW make new games maybe half a year... in the first months they support the new game very much - many new models and rule expansions and shit are released... but then they notice that there arent many players interested in the game anymore and all of a sudden stop to put work in that game... some examples:

epic 40k: after a year it was as if the game had never existed
gorkamorka: the same (i played it too, imo the best gw game)
necromunda: disappered even faster
battlefleet gothic: after half a year it was forgotten
...

and so on, im not into the "scene" anymore but i think its still the same: GW are rip-offs!

so i suggest to play the "classics" warhammer and warhammer 40k because these games are still supported by GW, allthough the new games can be very much fun its a waste of money to buy lots of stuff for em....

edit: maybe ill upload a pic of my epic army someday...

I just had to dig up this topic since I was looking back to see if there was any posts like this before I made another. I play Warhammer 40k! Well I just started not too long ago. I'm collecting Space Marines and Tau. For space marines I got
1. Speeder (cant remember what its called)
2. Chaplain Hero
3. Two squads of space marines

All I have for Tau is a box of Fire Warriors!
game is too expensive :( if it was cheaper i would have more!

I will upload a pic of my guys :) they are not bad painted, my friend all he does is splotch two colors on. I cant believe he would do that to them :(

I have some friends that compete very much (whfb)

If you want to see something nice, take a look at the models that the 'eavy metal team paints. Someone have some of those pics to upload? I cant find any right now...

Make links to the pictures instead of having them in the post please.

Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

Re: Does here anybody play Warhammer by Games Workshop?

Post by insane guy »

Woke up on January 1st this year (2017) and had a strong and deep urge to start a Warhammer 40k Ork army. Was very wtf feeling because came out of nowhere. I started to watch some battle reports and checked out whats going on over at GW etc. Went to a local shop to talk to some ppl if GW are still ripping ppl off (they are). But my urge didn't stop, so I just bought a pack of Orks and am using a lot of my free time to paint those :) Max fulfilling hobby for me at the moment. Next project will be scratch-built/heavily customized trucks. I might post some pics if anyone interested :)

Waaaaagh!
