IFLP - Internal Feeling Level Pack

Post by zebra »

Our team TAP (The Apple Placers) have released new level pack, IFLP (Internal Feeling Level Pack). Please try our levs and send your best times in.

Link to page: http://www.freewebs.com/theappleplacers/IFLP.zip
Link to levpack: http://www.freewebs.com/theappleplacers/iflplevs.htm

Let's make this a good competition. At least we have tried to make good levs, but that's not enough if people is not interested in them and plays just battle or höyl internals or something like that. Many pro's have already tried the pack and liked it, so maybe it's now time to forget everything else and höyl IFLP :)

Team TAP: zebra, Behk and jonsta
A winner of 4 GAA's (mc2 included), winner of mkup206, and a proud member of team TAP.

the levpack link is to our page, you can download the levpack from there. I don't know why it doesn't work directly from here.

if you have anything to ask, join channel #IFLP in irc.

Nobody asked for a quick review but here's one anyway :)

The level name "Where is the flower" pretty much sums up the experience of this Impossible Fucking Labyrinth Pack.

What's with all this mazyness? I would've liked it better with some linear levels, now cruising through these was quite frustrating at times, though it was rewarding to finally finish the levs but I wouldn't compete on them, too much work :P

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad pack, and it'll probably get better with more playing and finding the right paths, all labyrinth lovers should at least give it a try.

should every lev be a short höylä lev where you can see the right style immediately?

I prefer levs where you can cruise back and forth and look for the right style. And maybe there isn't 'the right style' at all, but many fast styles. I think that is what makes a lev an interesting one.

After finding the style it's again a höylä lev but at least you had couple of minutes when you were just cruising the lev without any need to höyl.

I know when you see a new lev it always looks bigger and longer than it eventually is. If you have problems with finding the best style, just examine the lev in the editor (without saving there of course). Then you should have the whole picture of the lev and it should be easier to find the right style.

This has to be one of the best packs released in a while. I have a few times ill send in just to get it started.
Levs are fun, not too long, not too easy/hard, very many styles. I dont think many of them feel like internals, but still fun

I'm little bit disappointed in psy, shouldn't he be one of the few quys who still prefer more complicated levels and not boring short ones where only gas is needed. Old and lazy lad you are ;)

I didnt say every track needs to be, there just should be a little variety. Now there are tons of parts in the levels with no function at all. It's not fun to be lost level after level, some simple coffee break levels every now and then would be nice for a better balance

However, one more positive thing about this pack is that the last level isn't a stupid apple harvest like in most packs :)

Shut up :D As I'm getting older I want to spend less time with the levels and start to appreciate simple but more playable stuff. Don't think I mean it's the only right way to make a level, it's just my personal liking at the moment.

I don't think you should be calling people's times sucky after they've taken the time and effort to play your levs.

Rex said me himself that some of his times are sucky, just driven through.
But times are getting better, and i think there will be very nice times soon.

Well one thing isn't like in internals.
Not every level in IFLP can be driven by a total noob.
And that's a pretty important part of the internals.

But very nice pack otherwise. 8)

well good levels....probably one of the best packs this year, if not the best,
obviously ALOT of effort put into these.
Wouldnt call it a 'internal feeling level pack', all i felt was external feeling to the levels(which isnt a bad thing :P)

well i liked no. 50 the best :D

I agree with Juble. Many good levels, but very few was "internal feeling" levels.

Axxu TT is now 35:48:39!
Will anyone beat him?

ok, i updated the times at last. I'm sorry i haven't updated for a long time but since now i'll update more often (weekly if much new times or at least monthly)
Check IFLP table 6 here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/zebra/IFLP_table_6.html
or our team page: http://www.freewebs.com/theappleplacers/iflplevs.htm

Here are the current top 3: 1. axxu [AC], xp [WNO] and John [WNO].
There is also a tight battle between teams: team AC has better total times but WNO has more best times.
Send your stats files to me ( zebra@mbnet.fi or zebraTAP in irc ) and i'll update the table. You can also send times and recs to behk, jonsta or sowjet but they just need to send them to me. Recs are needed if new best times (i don't bother to watch your non-best-time recs). Maybe it's ez to cheat but don't do that, all cheating will eventually come to surface and it's your own honour in question.

I'll be waiting for your new times and recs.

Omg! John did amazing work and impressively took almost all of the wrs!
He is now leading the table by over one minute in total time.
Read more here:

or here:

John allowed me to publish one of his new wrs, so here we go, enjoy!

ANpDaD took 38 IFLP wrs EXACTLY 1 year after last update (last update was on 17/4/2005). He now leads the WR table, and leads the Total Time list by more than 30 secs!
Here is the link to the 9th IFLP table:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/zebra/IFLP_table_9.html

And here is the link to our "old" and almost innactive site:
http://www.freewebs.com/theappleplacers/iflplevs.htm

Will IFLP come alive once again?

That's some great levelpack indeed, thanks for reviving it. I remember I had a lot of fun with this back in the days. Now I'm split, should I cruise some of these again or should I continue hoyling internals whenever I open Elma... Hmm ;/
