Nvidia users can switch it on/off easily from display properties, if you have detonator drivers installed, just look for Direct3d settings.

not advisable for n00bs apparently

i've heard stuff like, don't bother with it unless you're playing for WRs, get down to 40 min TT first, all bounces can be done with it on, etc etc

I wouldn't use it if I were you. It can screw up your computer pretty bad if it crashes while you're playing etc...

Oh my, this is something happened to me at my dads place.

First of all, this is probably just a coincidence and I am not telling it has anything to do with this program.

So here's what happened, I was playing Silent Hill 4 and there was a location where the game would crash. So, I updated my nvidia gfx drivers and something odd happened which caused windows to not be able to install the new driver nor any other driver succesfully. Whatever I tried to do it would never work after computer restart even though it earlier said the install was complete. After quite some headache the system drive was formatted and everything ran fine again. It just came to my mind that I first time tested the elmaxp program earlier at the same time. But like I said, it probably doesn't have anything to do with the whole thing.

it must work at least a bit, cuz I had probs with hiflyerbounce, wheel just dragged and wouldnt bounce, changed g-card, changed opengl vsync off and made bounce in 5 mins and got 33.70. but I tested direct3d 2 days ago for first time and then I noticed the real difference, wasnt lagless tho as u know^

It would be nice for a list of tricks to be made, telling after each one whether it's vsync on or off

ok took me a while to find as well...

on desktop, right click -> properties -> settings -> advanced

then click on tab that says your graphics card, i think that is what it will say. you should have screen like this

Image

then click on 'performance and quality settings' on the left. next you should have a drop down menu with a whole bucnh of games. go to the top thing in that menu, it says 'global driver settings'. click the 'add' button. you should now be at a window that says add profiles. like this:

Image

click browse and open elma.exe. now check it from the list, make a profile name, like elma or elasto or whatever, and click 'ok'. now back at a old screen, check the 'vertical sync' box, uncheck the 'application controlled' box in setting value and drag the bar to whether you want vsync on or off.

i have only done this on my nvidia gforce fx 5200. i dunno whether its same for other video cards, try :)

For Nvidia: http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner
Though beware. I downloaded Rivatuner, pushed some buttons and ez the flashes now on screen. Though it doesn't affect my gameplay it surely screwed smth up. I guess that it's nuf for "not that skilled ppl" to just keep to v-sync. Just my advise

Thx for the tip whoever told me! But how do I get rid of these flashes :?

if you want i can make a complete list what vsync to use in each lev based on my own experiences, of course. Though, there are some hard cases such as lab pro, downhill etc. f.ex. luther got 2:19 sth with vsync on on lab pro and i got 2:18:0x with off, so I dont have a clue which is better then, mostly im an 'off fan' anyway

It really needs some explanitory (spelling?)

1. Define what Vsync is.
2. How It improves elma gameplay.
3. Which levels On/Off
4. How to turn off.
5. Which videocards are supported.

I know you canf ind some stuff searching on the internet, but a comprehensive txt should be better.

With 66.93 drivers:

Display Properties -> Advanced -> GeForce2 MX/MX 400

Select Performance & Quality Settings in the left menu thingie
Vertical Sync is in the bottom of the list in the center menu in the window to the right.

Maybe this http://steinsoft.net/index.php?site=Pro ... OpenGL/no7 can work for people without nVidia or ATi graphics cards.. Haven't tried it myself. Also, it's for Open GL and I guess elma is DirectX :/

That's because your videocard is set to turn vsync on and off depending on the program.
