Ok, there should definitly be some LOM 2005
REASONS
- I'm sure lots of good designers want to create levels but are out of ideas, the LOM competition brings back a lot of inspiration...
- BarTeK will surely take part in it and i'd sure love to see some new levels of his !
- The LOM packs of levels are great, very fun to play
- Everybody in the elma scene enjoy this contest

I ask a few people if they could organize it. At least I don't have time for it.

Abula : Maybe you could release a theme now, just in case the LOM thing work

skint0r, psy, me are the raters. Or were. psy and skint0r are not willing to arrange the whole thing.
Should I release a theme eventhough I can't guarantee that it will ever be updated?

If interested, I can rate levels. But I don't have the knowledge to update and stuff.. But I would be grateful to help.

I'd say a level is playable when you play it for 30 minutes and you still have fun and want to play it again and again !Anonymous wrote:what makes a level playable, as for playability? is a over 4 minute level that is not easy to finish much playable?

I'm still sorry I haven't found time for this. I think the levels were released around the GAA04..? We will make the results eventually.

Anyone willing to do the LOM 2003 updates? Including organizing the ratings, renaming levels, zipping them and doing results in txt format.
You can't rate own levels though.
Be realistic, it's not the easist job to do. Well, it's easy but needs a lot of time.

I was thinking about LOM last week and got an idea:
1. In the first phase everybody would have one month time to design a level from certain topic (as it has been before). They send in their levels before the month ends to me or abula or some other who is hosting LOM.
2. Then the host would rename the levels for example D0602A, D0602B, D0602C and so on. Then he would upload the levels to mopolauta and remove designers' names from the levs, so no-one could know who has made them. Then he would make a mopolauta poll about the level of month (just like kuski of month is done).
3. After the voting the level's designers would be published and levels renamed in order D0602L01, D0602L02 ... according to the points they got.
pros:
1. Like this the community would be allowed to vote for the level they want. Level Of Month's wouldn't be anymore some kind of unseen levs, but rated by the community.
2. Levels would be played more (when people would be rating the levs)
3. The hosting wouldn't be anymore such an arduous job (as we can see, it has already taken 3 years to abula to make it)
cons:
1. The rating wouldn't be so detailed anymore. In previous LOM's there was different kinds of points and suchs, now there would be just one vote to give.
2. Some people could give a random vote for the levels without even trying them.
Still, i think this idea is worth trying.
Though, best idea would be to make a php site where everyone could give points from 1 to 10 to all of the levels, but we don't have that kind of site yet (maybe the new moposite will have it some day )

You have found at least an alternative that could work zebra. I thoughed about this issue myself and wondered how this could be solved. In fact, I found it near impossible. But this idea you have seems good enough. Though I think there should be some sort of registration before you can vote, and perhaps some rules could be added there.
Ofcourse there shouldn't be any case of people sending in levels with there nicks written in it. Sure it is possible to work out who made which level. It's impossible to make this stuff 100% foolproof.
At least I support this.

maybe make LOM section of vk's level sharing site?
And what about level maker reveeling which his lev is? And maybe dyrox reveals that sum level is his (while it is not) and that level gets max less points.

No regrets

You know the place and arranger matters.
With mopolauta there would be ez much more voters.
And if Abula advertised and hosted it, then it would be a success.
