Kuski of January 2005

Post by SveinR »

First off, I'm geniunely sorry for this coming so late out in the month, but I've had internet problems and stuff.. It shouldn't have taken this long though, so I'm sorry. You'll have till the 10th of February to vote.
Suggest questions and candidates.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zworqy: Zworqy has hosted two of his quite popular Elma Elimination Tournaments, which are of a type not quite like any other contests. The first event of EET2 got as many as 74 entries. He also made the MopoKup together with his team, as well as being the creator of the "Guide to ElastoMania Programs" site (which got shut down, sadly). He's also made the Internal Chain Levs, and won the Elite Editing Competition.

Munkki: Another mystery kuski, like his team-mate The OooO. Munkki does very well in the external contests he enters (He won 5 events, and came 2nd, in the Mopo Kup, and he won one King Cup event and one Smash Cup event). Recently he also won the EET2, over such great kuskis as Jalli, axxu and The OooO.

Sierra: Sierra is one of the kuskis who are improving most rapidly at the moment. He joined the scene only in April 2004, and started playing not long before that. He broke the one hour limit in the beginning of May, and now his TT is 41.4x(one could say his improving are reminiscent of john's). It's really quite amazing how fast this guy is improving his times. He also knows a remarkable whole deal about the elma scene in general, which shows he really takes a big interest in it, being as new as he his.

Zebra: Zebra is one of the most innovative contest-holders and levelmakers we've got in the Elma scene. He created the TTbattle concept, he made a contest where you were to edit a level and then get the best time (FD01), and he generally makes very, very good levels. Him and his team TAP recently started its MasterCup, which gathered 82 players in the first event. They've also made the IFLP. He has also made the mergestats program, and provides the great #battle stats.

Ramzi: This Polish kuski, Ramzi, holds the world's 8th best total time, with a time of 38.5x. The 39 min limit he broke recently making lots of very nice times to go with it.

Did I forget something important about one of the candidates? Tell me in this thread or by PM.

Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

I'd say oldschool kusky's rather then new. We all had started near 2003 8)

But Ramzi story is completly different. He's career started maybe year ago.

He's very talented, genious player.

I think we shoud promote him to make him believe even stronger in his mission! :D

i cannot believe sierra was even nominated for kuski of month, and cannot even comprehend how anyone would vote for him over ramzi, zebra, or munkki, who have all either achieved something or contributed to the community...i think sierra detracts from the scene, not adds to it

rather than waste his time with external level packs, contests and other such "contributions" to the scene, I believe sierra's interests are mainly in internal level playing. after all, if youre going to spend your time playing a game, why not play it as it was made to be played? elma wasnt created with the intention of holding cups and external contests (which after all, is the ONLY thing zebra has provided???) and 41 min tt, accomplished in less than a year (9 months to be precise) has taken Abula HOW long? lol @ that

I remember myself writing smth like "that was the most stupid post ever written on earth" some months ago.. This must be the most stupid thing in the universe.

I'm too angry to explain myself right now. Just bad words popping up right now and too hard to block 'em. Though I'm quite sure everyone BUT you see my point.

so how do you know? why you can make your own levels, wasn't that intended? why you can compete in this own made levels? wasn't that intended? maybe it wasn't intended to call it cups or contests, but so what?

LP vinyl wasn't intended for dj's, it was intended to bring spoken messages to from one person to another, the inventor didn't like people to make LP's with music, but who give's a fuck about him?
The Technics sl-1200 MKII wasn't intend to be used by dj's, it's overdimensioned home model. But if we should hold a turntable of the month contest it would make a fair chance of winning it.
