World Cup 5 events - 15 or 20?

Post by px »

The amount of events in the upcoming cup is yet undecided, please tell me your opinion. There will be either 15 or 20 events, maximum length will probably be two weeks, most ones averaging to one week though. Yet there will be shorter than one-week events too.

This may sound shelfish... but I'm voting for 20 because that means I'm able to enjoy more fantastic world cup replays. If I were going to take part seriously, I would go for 15 because I think it's better for serious playing... I mean, 20 events takes many months.

I would love to hear comments by the ones who will take part seriously, does many want 20 and are eager to take part to them all fully concentrated?

Going for 20, the real players will play every events so, extremely good externalists like MP, TorInge, Markku won't win because they won 10 events, and skipped 5...

And i want a long competition ! :D

Yeah, World Cup 5 will happen

Hmm, I don't know... there were 20 events in both wcup3 and wcup4, so that's kinda part of wcup to me.. 15 would seem like cutting it short ;)
I haven't decided.

To all the new guys who think the more the better, THINK AGAIN. 15 is absolutely max and everybody who have played 20 event marathon knows that. If you wanna see lots of top players quit fine, vote it, but in the end I think it's not good for the whole cup that the competitive level will drop tremendously in the end. It's not good for the whole cup ok

Yet I'd like to point out, that I've planned to include shorter events, for example 24h or 48h ones to the cup. If there will be much of those, the cup might be over quite soon. Voting for 20 myself.

Ok, i think MP is right ( as usual )...

True that 20 levels ( 1 level ~ 1 week ) will last like 20 weeks... which is something like 5 months.

That's kinda long. Almost half a year. Yeah, i guess 15 is better :?

15, so I won't get bored when the ending is near. Also, some better levels than in the previous wcups would do. And a pipe event.

MP: actually it's not the last levels that won't be hoyled so much but the levels between 10 and 17 or something. In the end people will realize "if I get 100 points in the last 3 events I will become top10!" and play more.

I played all events last time (one or two I didn't send in for) and I didn't get tired of it. But I think that was because I had just started playing serious elma at the beginning of wcup and everything was just so extremely exciting. At the last couple events where I really hoyled hard in some of them I can easily see how it must've been to do that for all 20 events!! So I guess I'm voting 15, though the addition of those shorter events might make 20 work. Also if the cup is starting before summer and running over summer then a break for a couple of weeks maybe 3 or 4(!) might be a nice idea with both the 15 and 20 events constellation.

15 is OK amount of events.
My suggestion is that there's only one week events and at least a one week break during Cup.

And when would that be, prey? 20 events would only take about a month longer, and anyway I'm guessing the cup won't start at least until around the beginning of May, so the summer won't be wcup free in any case.

I chose 15. Nothing wrong with 20 for me though, but 15 would be better competition.

Suggestion for a wcup5 or wcup6 or additional competition:

F1 circuit type of competition. One week event , one/two week pause, and then a new event. 15 events would last 30 to 45 weeks making it more like a Season like in F1 or such.

WCs are every other year.....

back to the topic, I prefer 15 events and wouldl be nice if there were 5 or so 3-4days events. And no pauses needed.
