Is it possible to play ELMA in window mode instead of fullscreen mode?

not much point really, it is not that hard to alt+tab and any changes you make to your elma dir dont change untill you restart it anyway

Depends on what kinda changes you mean. If you alt-tab and change, say, the name of a level or a rec, you don't have to restart elma for the change to take place.Ky.Jelly wrote:not much point really, it is not that hard to alt+tab and any changes you make to your elma dir dont change untill you restart it anyway
And windowed mode could be useful when chatting and playing elma..
behk, doesnt windowed mode mean same thing as windowed elma?
And ky jelly, how can you say that its no use to have windowed mode ?
You can put windowed elma to be top all the time and leave mirc behind it and stretch elma window so you can see #across or #battle all the time from below, and then write your battle result just in time or just hoyl elma and follow chat at the same time without alt-tabing.

My friend (Wieloryb) gave me link to some Japanese (?) program, that can run Elma (preset to Fallout) and other Direct3D games in window mode. Its play very well.
I have on my computer ~40 FPS (of course, in windowed Elma).
Wieloryb hardware is much stronger and he obtain as said, about 85 FPS.
Download here: http://bug.ii.uj.edu.pl/fallout/patch/D3DWindower.zip
After start, choose "+" symbol and set your Elma.exe (or Elma12.exe) file. Then, click on ">" (Play mark) and run Elma normal method or from "Computer icon" in that software.
Some application options (eg. FPS Counter) are hidden in second (from right) icon.
Enjoy.

Well atleast it's good for watching replays and some cruising.
The settings are a bit on the weird side but atleast I figured out that the two fields next to the fps check box define the window size.
The first one is for window width and the second for height.
But seems that there's no point in changing the window size from default since it requires alot more calculating.
And yeah the translation would be sweet, could maybe figure out some settings for other games too. The prog seems to have some big mouse problems so not much point in it for other games...maybe changing some settings would make it work better.

For me it runs preatty smooth,, haven't changed anything and it runs.
Menu: 190-193 FPS
Playing: Always 75 FPS
After finishing: under 20 FPS
Runs really really smooth for me:)
But can't use the editor. No cursor, and when i find where it is... the mouse goes outside the window and then can't use it.

Actually u don't need any english version of this program. Everything is in the hook.ini file and it's in english and as i've realized there are just as many options in the hook.ini file as there is in the program

I have AMD AthlonXP 2200+, Ati Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb anf 512mb's of RAM, but the game works bad (even in 640x480). I have Win XP and the Elma version is 1.2 Final. What is the problem?
Menu FPS (640x480) : 28 FPS
Playing : 15-28 FPS (yesterday it worked at 15 FPS and today 28 )
After died : 11 FPS

meh i donno whats wrong, it works for my computer upstairs and its old, Pentium 2, 330megahertz, over 30fps usually (in normal mode it goes max fast)
TT ~ 50:42
runs ok with a64 3200+ and X850XT
seems like refresh rate limits the fps so I got only 120fps in gameplay, if I could get higher refresh rate to windows i would most likely to get more,
260fps or something in menus
maybe enough fps for some ppl but i still prefer elma in full screen with 800+ fps

You are saying you're working on 60Hz refresh rate?Dariuz wrote:well, the only problem is that it uses the desktop refreshrate, which is logical because its windowed. and on my screensize of 1280x1024 thats 60Hz max, and no 120Hz like im used too.
How are teh eyes doing? ..
(I can't imagine anything under 85Hz for more than 5 minutes, and I mean 75Hz is very bad, 85Hz is minimum.. 60 is even visible to the eye, that's more than harmful.)
