The Big Elma Test - Get Your Elma Score!

Post by zworqy »

The Big Elma Test

I have devised a test you can take, it will give you a score between 1-100 depending on how good you are at Elma. This is is a better way to compare two players than to just look at the TT.

My own score is 29 = Ok. (The statuses are just like in Elma: World Class, Professional etc.)

Note: There is not a max of 10 points for each of the 10 questions, some questions weigh heavier than others.
I'll keep the points for each status and question secret for now
(You will get your status when you take the test of course.)

Of course, this survey isn't perfect, and can always be improved. What do you think? I thought about making a question about levelmaking, but that's hard to rate yourself on. Also maybe Hoyling (short, "no" styles levels) as a skill...

Example: A guy plays about 1-2 years ago and has the exactly same skills, etc than a player that has been playing for 5 years. Why should the 2nd guy have the better score?

maybe the test makes so that the 1st guy gets better points cause he didnt have to play as much to get that good?

Actually I thought a lot about what points to give for how long you've played. Maybe low points for short playing times, medium points for long and high points for medium playing time...

Why does how long time youve aplyed affect your skill level at all? doesnt it just affect how fast you gotten the skills you have today?

The last four questions are flawed because they rely on peoples views of their own skills. I think its easy to see that some people have a higher regard of their skills than others.

Brutal volt skills would be under bounce skills =)

And Supervolt/Alovolt skills is like how much do you use it, can you finish levels faster with it etc. A good example is: How good are your "getting over the pole" skills in Steppes?

There also might be differences as to regarding what is "some points" and what is "many points" in different cups.

Also, i won 2fast cup, does that count as winning a cup?

23, it makes me ok player. I think not. I have only succeeded in finding some styles in battlelevels, so helping other people. I have also made levels that people have liked.

I dont like to brag but I almost won axxu once... And he won the battle. Pity that I died in a very critical place.

To people who whined about their score or the question: I think this test doesnt tell your skill, it tells your score. So if you havent played battles, you have missed a big part of elma, and then you cant get good score. Need to explain more?
