Beginners Best Times

Post by Lepton »

I'd like to know if there is a table with best times for beginners, maybe those with a tt of >1h or even >1h 30min. Cause I'd like to know how good or bad my times really are-and comparing them with the WR is useless. Any website having that?

Yes, there is but there's very few that are sending in to them and that makes them useless to compare with. :?

You can also compare yourself with people who has a TT similar to your own in these stats pages:

http://vk.mine.nu/elmatimes.php

http://stats.elastomania.ru/

(Warning: Many players might not have updated their stats for a long time)
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

56 min is still beginner? 8O

Hmm, why not-but it is clear that yours will be much better. I have already 1h 5min and there are still five levels I have never completed...

@SveinR: Oh thanks, this looks good. :D But as I see my times really totally suck... :(
EDIT: Oh, amazing, I really found some guys with times even worse than mine.

I have to correct: it was 1h 4min-and now it is 1h 6min and there are only four levels missing. :D (Finally completed this fucking downhill)

@revolt: Thanks, works now. 8)

According to the target times (who weren't exactly made by people who play this 10 minutes per day...) it's begginer until 49 minutes TT...

Just had a quick look at your times and hang tight and Shelf Life are the two which really leap out to me as being awfully bad. Looking at your times else where you should beable to take a minute + out of both of these with ease.

It wasn't soo long ago that my times looked like that so don't worry, if you watch replays and play lots it comes down quite quick. Also, some tricks look harder than they actually are so don't be afraid to try things that look Impossible, you might surprise yourself ;).

Anyway, good luck and stuff. PM me if you would like a rec pack.

I know-I hate both levels. I needed three weeks or so till I completed Shelf Life and I was never able to do it again. (Always have problems with the last apple) Yesterday I almost made it but I hit my head at the very end, near the flower. (Would have been about 1min 40sec, much better than my time now. :( )
Hang Tight is even worse; was more kind of an accident that I could complete it, with a style that can normally impossibly (somehow it did once) work and which is really very slow.

Don't have time to play a lot-I'm learning for my last exam and I will soon start writing my diploma thesis. :(
PM me if you would like a rec pack.
OK, Thanks. :)

Shelf life: 2:47:93 before, now 1:41:52.
Hang Tight: 2:04:73 before, now 0:55:13.

Looks already much better. 8)

Can someone please help me out here; I've successfuly added my times to stats.elastomania.ru, but I can't whatever I do submit them to vk.mine.nu/elmatimes.php; am I supposed to wait for some confirmation email or something? My times never show up in this site...

No; at least I didn't get any mail.

Maybe you have a firewall making trouble, so you can't upload data to the site? Or did you perhaps forget to create your account first?

I know that it doesn't work in Firefox, so you have to use IE for it.

That's all I can think of.

And Gratz Lepton, those times look a lot more sensible now :).

Seems like there are lots of faked times at
http://vk.mine.nu/elmatimes.php

Look e.g. at the times for "Hooked" and compare with the WR-these times are impossible. (best one 12:87, where WR is 17:26)

Well that's because some ppl have bug times in hooked, and don't bother fixing it :/

Where do bug times come from? :?:

It's not really worth it. It's easy to fake your times intentionally on that database. Because it works on your stat.txt as apposed to your stat.dat. Which means all you have to do is open it in notebook and edit your time if you want to cheat. (You can do this with stat.dat but you need a program to do it).
Bascially the whole database relies on people being honestand being bothered to get rid of bug times.
It's by no means perfect, but it's quite nice anyway - and most people are honest I think.

Ah, thanks. :) Now it's clear, although I have difficulties to imagine how you can manage to touch an apple with both wheels at a time, but that's another question...

@crazyevildude: I know that you can easily fake your times if you just edit stats.txt. But in such a case when it is so obvious I think it's natural to let the people fix it or if they refuse to ban them.
