Acrossish Talk

Post by CMc »

Has anyone caught themselves speaking acrossish outside of the elma community?

Just the other day I was with some friends...we were watching a movie and I said, "Mongo movie, ez make that better." They looked at me like I was an idiot.

There was a similar topic earlier but can't remember it's name nor link.
Anyway yeah I use some mongo words like mongo sometimes but not that many actually. Acrossish has kinda stopped evolutioning which some may find a good thing. :D

Just drop by #across on IRCnet some times... you'll learn.. or better yet, drop by #ranks.

Topic then, yes, I've used mongo sometimes but I try not to, because I don't like the word used irl. Also I sometimes get the urge to say something involving "ez" or the like, but i refrain myself :)

I guess this is easier for people living in English-speaking countries than for us Scandinavians though. But I do sometimes implement acrossish into chatting with irl friends :S
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?

back in dubai me and sierra would talk pretty much how we would on irc, and not even think twice about it. our friend kevin (pantat on irc at one point) now uses more acrossish in day to day speak than we do

with jaytea i only ever talk in 100% acrossish or 100% normal. i mean irl of course

there are some others who i might use a little across, like "ez" and "whane" and of course "lol" but i try to minimize it really

I try to never use words like "lol", "ez" and other words with o=0 variations like "n00b", etc...

I guess for me it'd be harder if I actually spoke english outside #across ;X Now there's really no reason to use any of those words, because, while speaking, they don't fit the context at all

Yes but those aren't äscrossish words really, just normal internet messaging acronyms.
