Have you ever thought of how stupid it sounds when you tell someone about elma? Its like:

"You drive a motorcycle through different levels and collect apples and when you have taken all the apples you touch the flower."

Most of my classmates just laugh when they hear that I play elma...
But they are just playing CS all the time and thats not much better...

Elma really is a pretty bizzare game. Just look at how crazy the physics of the game are, the bike acts like a balloon on the moon. The apples and the flower don't really help either.
But of course, that's part of the beauty of elma.

Yeah people give me strange looks when I describe the game too... but most laugh at the physics and get addicted themselves once they play it for the first time

This was my article about this process of getting into elma I posted a time ago:

I wrote: The Elastomania Hypotheses

Hypothese: When you see it, you think:"OMG!!!
You can't be serious! You gotta be kiddin!
You don't call this a game! This is Rubbish..."

Hypothese: When you get yourself finally to go
try and play it, you will notice:"erhm,...okay,...
what is this game all about? let's see, apples?!
A Flower?! o, god, this is soooo fake!"

Hypothese: When you die the first time, due to
real stupidness, because you don't know the
controls, you will think:"Oh, sjeesh! this is dumb
look at this driver shaking his arms... No, damn!
I want to go left! I push left, and I fall on the
ground, what is this???

Hypothese: When you see the level menu
again, because you died:"Oh, well, let's try it
another time..."

Hypothese: When you finally played level 1 out
you see 'next level' in the ending menu, and
sure, of course you go play it, you will uninstall
this stupid game by tomorrow when you've
played all the levels, this can't be that hard!

Hypothese: When you have played out the first
five levels, -skipped level 4 by the way-, you
see it is already midnight, damn this game is
fun!

Hypothese: When you wake up the next
morning, you start up your computer to check
your e-mail, you see a helmet-head pictogram
on your desktop...
Oh, that's right, that's that funny game that
some friend installed secretly installed for me
when I was away for 10 minutes...
"let's see, it is just half past seven, shall I try to
just play out level 6? Oh, hell, why not?"

Hypothese: When you are at level 7, finally,
you see your clock measuring the time at
9.00 AM...
You will think:"Jezus,...what now? Ah, I just
call in sick today."

Hypothese: At the end of the day, at level 15,
you go to elastomania.com and go order the
full version, streight to the fansites for more
levels. What do you see? level packs, lgr's,
what the heck are these?, replays...replays,
for pete's sake, these guys are crazy!

Hypothese: A week has passed, you get a
package by mail, you open it, race to your
computer, shut down the elastomania shareware
version, then you install the full version...
THE HUMANITY!!! MORE LEVELS!!!
oh, finally the holy grale...or better: hoÃ¿ly grale.
let's play these levels, o my, they are rather hard...

I showed my friend some crazy replays like Jalli's.
They said "wow" when he went down with head here:

lol that's not even hard part.

i remember playing at school some simple lev where u needed to turn twice quickly to avoid bumping head to ceiling and it was really ez and they were like wow that's cool.
