Hi, and Windows 7 / V-sync

Post by Thundr- »

Ever since I swapped to Windows 7 I have been unable to turn the d3d v-sync off for elma. It seems that no matter what I do it stays capped at 60fps, and not only that, the picture gets really fucked up every time I turn around making the game quite unplayable.

I've tried disabling v-sync using these programs:
-Riva Tuners D3DOverrider
-PowerStrip
-Catalyst Control Center
-And some other useless minor programs.

I'm using a ATI Radeon HD 4770 with newest drivers and settings.

I've also tried different versions of elma, swapping monitors, as well as running the program in different compabilities, and as administrator etc. The list goes on.

Is there anyone that can provide a solution aside from changing back to some other OS like xp or whatnot? I've tried troubleshooting this for a while now.

Oh yeah, I don't remember if anyone remembers me, but I used to be Thundr- in team GF etc w/e, and I stopped playing due to univercity studdies 2 years ago, and more recently this windows 7 trouble has kept me from starting playing again.

Try out Smibus patch.

The belma patch there. You might need to install belma also.

Tried the patch yet for some reason it still didn't work. It feels like there is something else capping the fps. Some internal setting somewhere that I just cant figure out.

Edit: fixed it now, seems to be working!

Would be nice to pick the features you want (some patching exe), but I suppose that's too nirso to ask for, considering how much Smibu has made/done already.
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?

I have win7 and turning vsync on and off works like a charm with nvidia control panel. The fact that radeon has horrible settings is another thing though, had same problem on my laptop that runs on vista with a radeon graphics card but smibus patch fixed it=)

conclusion: if you play elma: never get a radeon graphics card

Erm nope, the new radeon cards are nice, but the control panel for radeon cards is horrible for tuning elastomania which is what I said

i upped some older version of smibu's patch on zworqy. bike-turning is normal, vsync off, you can see how many apples you got after the run and you don't have to wait 1 sec when you die.
