Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
strange happenings occur if a "wheel" is put inside a polygon, starts autospinning, the more pixels the faster it goes, and it goes really fuging fast sometimes
if you touch you fly pretty far for even a slowmoving wheel. example lev: http://kopasite.net/up/0/strangewheel.vle

Very impressive! Nice game. Must have taken long to make the editor and the physics.

Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Pingywings, well, quite hard to make that physics works correctly in any situations...
zebra, thanks! I spend about two weeks on it. But for physic i use Chipmunk physics engine, for graphics - ZenGL, and for scripts - Pascal Script, so it can be said, half of work not mine

Damn, I had not been thinking that levels were so dynamic -- nice result, Cossades!
Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Nice lev1 times, people. Some levels are very creative, also, and that's great.

I am a big fan of platforming games.
I guess if everyone could attach a level file of their creation, I mean every inspired creation, we could in time have an official level pack to pick from.
The way I am seeing it, though, the current state is still one of experimentation, which is like it should be.
Also, only time will tell how well this game is to be aging! Kicks the hell out of the first Amle, to say the least.
Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Nice screenshot
"Teleport" added already, but no touch poly script yet, so only by touch object.
Uploaded new version. Here exe: http://zalil.ru/33855808
First of all, added new level-file format - zle, its just zip file with vle and all new resources used on level. Also in editor added refresh button. So, if you want to use some own sprite, texture or object, just put it in appropriate folder, press refresh and after create level save it in zle-file.
Also added:
There all script functions:
procedure SetInt( Name : string; Value : integer );
function GetInt( Name : string ) : integer;
procedure Obj_Delete( ID : integer );
function Obj_GetCount( Name : string ) : integer;
procedure Obj_SetPos( ID : integer; X, Y : single );

Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
how do i save getpos if it returns "single" and we can only set integer
simply im trying to make polygon that drops down and then gets returned back to start position, over and over again

Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Example:
If you want to use SetInt function then use Round or Trunc for convert single to integer.
Code: Select all
var
px, py : single;
begin
Poly_GetPos( 1, px, py );
if py > 100 then
begin
Poly_SetSpeed( 1, 0, 0 );
Poly_SetPos( 1, px, 10 );
end;
end.
Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
im guessing setint and getint are for storing your own "globals"Zweq wrote:how do i save getpos if it returns "single" and we can only set integer

Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Is it possible to script an elevator platform that moves up and down repeatedly? Or left/right?
Are we going to see any changes to the physics at all or can we assume it's gonna stay as it is now? What about varied jump heights?

Damn, that 6.87 so close in lev1 was 0.03s ahead on second apple but managed to screw up the last jump....
Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Has anyone an idea who made the islands level? I think it's nice.
I also will be trying out the unicycle level, as someone recommended it.

Nice. I went to the left first.
What's the point in renaming the file extension to "rec"?

Re: Amle2 (Elma fangame)
Thanks. I haven't tried going to the left first much, although testing has revealed the level seems surprisingly symetric. I haven't yet found out who made the level, though.Madness wrote:Nice. I went to the left first.
There is a restriction as to what types of files can be attached to the forum. (Which is easy to bypass, though.)Madness wrote:What's the point in renaming the file extension to "rec"?

When you talk, you put emphasis on certain words.
When you write, you can do the same, then people reading can put emphasis back on certain words.
