I think: TAS is when a "tool" (an external program) is used during playing, modded is when you tweak an existing replay.

I like the films too, but don't spy them very often. Funny, but I find those less laughable. Flying Circus is much more compact fun for me. You can simply go to replays menu, replay the rec then ghost bike, it will use the replay you selected. Thanks.
