Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

Yeah, the SVGs would have to be rasterized anyway first if used in Elma 2. In case someone wants to use photographs in LGRs, we'll probably support JPGs too in the new LGR format. JPGs are more suitable for photographs; saving a photograph in PNG format takes a lot more space although the picture do...

@klisse: I added a link to the feature document in the wiki page. As for "what has been done so far", read this topic :) we try to list all the new features/bug fixes after each release. The project is cross-platform, but so far we've only compiled binaries for Windows (should work on XP/V...

Updated wiki. Added the flicker bug also although I still couldn't reproduce it. For everyone: you can create an account in the wiki yourself and add any new bugs directly in the wiki page. It saves some work. Is it on purpose that the terminology has been changed in the options menu? Not really, bu...

Re: Elma 2 - updated 29.12.2012 (added debug version 30.12.)

Added bugs 1, 2, 3 and 5 to wiki. Didn't add 4 because I wasn't able to reprocude it either. And yeah, 6 is not really a bug either. We throw an internal error whenever we can't "handle" an exception, such as all LGRs missing etc. How did you manage to move all physics from Elma to Elma 2?...

Pretty strange. It couldn't load ObjectListView.dll for some reason (Google translate said "Discovered assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference."). Do you have the latest ObjectListView.dll? Try redownloading the DLL files.

Re: Elma 2 - updated 29.12.2012 (added debug version 30.12.)

Ropelli: I guess the debug libs are statically linked into the exe, just like CEGUI, Boost and others, so I think it should work... at least there were no strange DLL dependencies in the exe when I looked, just a few more imported functions from kernel32. Labs: That's not the debug version you're ru...

For those who are experiencing problems (Orcc, Labs, jonsykkel, Madness, Hosp, Lammas, anyone else?), here is the debug version. Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

Depends on what that means :) but of course we'll aim for as good online integration as possible. is that still using the reverse engineered original physics code or did you already 'separate' physics and rendering? and what kind of decisions have you made or will make a...

Re: Do we want a new version of Elma?

Maybe it's time to tell a little about the progress with the Elma 2 project. One big step was to separate the physics code to its own "component" so that it's easier to use. We've done that now. Another step was to choose a suitable OpenGL GUI framework for the menu system. We decided to p...

Background: About a week ago I managed to reconstruct Elma's physics engine in C code. I've tested the code by making a few autolevs and comparing the generated recs to original Elma v1.11a's ones. So far they've been identical. I'm asking whether there's any interest, sometime in the future, to hav...
