Using elma language IRL.

Post by ToTaL »

Sometimes when talking with friends I use expresions that I get from the elma scene. I can say like !ez, or bango/bongo.
One year ago, I started greeting people with saying, voi, and used jeu from time to time.
Depending on people the reaction to this varies, but most of the times it start new trend.

I just wondered what experianses you have had with using elma slang IRL?

I don't usually say elma language IRL, but I think I've let a "höyl" slip once or twice..
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

ok im really bad at this, i call be people mongo/bango at work and stuff, instead of just saying something sux i will say it sax balle, and i have noticed i say ez both for ez and for is, and whats worse is caus i say ez before quite a few sentences,

its not just elma i do this with, other games i play i tend to let its lingo slip into my everyday speech, the worse thing is wen your at a lan and you can hold full convo's with people just talking in letters, ie, cbf and wtf
[10:51:18] <skint0r> i could SACh see KyJelly working at ICA ;D

This topic has got me thinking...
How do you actually pronounce 'ez'??
I've always thought of it as 'isi', which is kinda close to easy (which is pronounced 'isy'), but maybe it's "ezz" or "iis" or something...

I guess that since ez must've been invented in writing and never officially existed as a spoken word, there isn't really a right way to pronounce it.

These different languages of the modern age is a catastrophe truly. I see everyday how languages slowly decay and withers. And computers play a part in this. Errors and misinterpretations don't get corrected, thus leaving the reader/writer believing he or she understands right.
Swedish grammar will soon be dead. Kids of today don't understand the grammar of their own language. At least 75% of our youth use the wrong words for ackusative and dative (in other words swedish language loses yet another function, making it much more primitive).
And the "auto-word" function of modern cellular phones have made a huge damage teenagers, rendering their spelling to often faulty. Unless something is done we will have even more idiots in society. (My present estimation is about 99%)
Educate yourselves for all you're worth, while you can stuid people!

Dr Pepper?
I have to agree with Luthers last words.
Language have allways changed.. like the adult didnt like the way the kids spoke in 50´s and so on... and now its them "kids" that dotn like they way we speak. This is very natural and development is not to be afraid of.
Like ppl allways think (ppl like you): This is the end, now its over.. it cant get "worse". Well, it can, and will, get "worse" (the "´s to indicate worse is your idea) all the time. The swedish you use is for instance NOT correct for some other ppl that are even older than you (how old are you?) and also, like you, conservative. Why is it ppl adapt and think that the way "I" speak is the correct way. Why does you think your way is right and my way wrong? Why is it your grandpa think your way of speaking is wrong while his is correct?
Why are ppl created in the way the the thign that is NOW/CURRENT (or: my way) is the right way. Why is it ppl are so narrowminded?

ps. I never said I wasnt narrowminded. I am... I have an idea of conservative ppl like you... that thinks you are better. so... lets be they way we are.. vareity is needed, are you?

Sorry, that insult completely missed me, as I said to him I am a follower of both Herakleitos and Nietszche.
ramone wrote: Language have allways changed.. like the adult didnt like the way the kids spoke in 50´s and so on... and now its them "kids" that dotn like they way we speak. This is very natural and development is not to be afraid of.
Btw. of course I exaggerated (I thought people would understand that - sorry) because I wanted to create debate.
Yes languages have always changed. Have you heard about the middle ages? When the Roman empire sank. Several thousands of years of knowledge dissappeared, well of course that's not to be afraid of: No, "let's start believing that the earth is center of the universe again. Let's forget all scientific progress that have been made. Yes in the true spirit of the pseudo-nihilists of the elevent hour. Let's fuck everything, don't care about shit and while we're at it fucking kill ourselves!"
ramone wrote:...[(ppl like you): This is the end, now its over..]... ...[and also, like you, conservative.]...
If you're trying to insult me you're just like Luther on the very wrong way, you cannot insult someone you don't know anything about. It'll just come out empty words. And... conservative my ass! I'm not afraid of changes, time equals change. But what's wrong with trying to upkeep an language where people can understand each other. Grammar losses in a language equals great hardships for all that try to understand each other.
ramone wrote:(I have an idea of conservative ppl like you... that thinks you are better. so... lets be they way we are.. vareity is needed, are you?
I must again point out how VERY wrong you are. The first pillar in my philosophy I call "potentialism", that word alone should make it clear that I do not see myself as "better" in any way.
Secondly I think the only real sign of maturity (you asked for my age, it's 21) is respect of others, to accept the way people are. Wich you btw is not doing when you try to insult me. But why do you attack me when I try to help you? I don't try to make you guys look like idiots, I'm trying to uphold a level of our languages that make us able to communicate, to UNDERSTAND each other.

(Geez, and I both voted for you, ramone and Luther, for kuski of the month... )

I say CP alot irl but I dotn think of that as elmaword cause I allways used that... however I started to say: Mongo and other forms of it and that annoys me.
