Elma always interferes with your normal life. The question is what you'd be doing instead.

That's why I'm glad elma came in my life. It usurped all my time spent outside school, so I never played any other game anymore. Now I quit elma, I haven't played any computer game since and I have been using a computer sparingly each day. So, to answer my own question, elma would nowadays spoil my life, because I wouldn't be doing the great and many things I do now.

I think I'll be off lauta, or almost. I'm kinda sick of those "fuck you bismuth" retards, and since it is pretty much the whole scene, well, that's it. Over the years I thought it would end somehow, but lately I feel like there's been even more of this crap. I just don't feel I need you to insult me to be happy.

Goodbye, and fuck you; most of you are tiring stubborn assholes.

I still love you Haruhi, and we still need to talk.

I finally realized this when I rejoined the scene with all those shit-heads around. Now I am only nice to people who/(when they) deserve it. I don't know if I've been faxxoring with Bismuth but now I say: don't go. And he is also right, many people are (seem?) indeed tiring and stubborn. Shame on you, you empty shells!

On the verge of quitting I suppose. I haven't played at all for like a month or so, maybe more (time moves fast with gf). It has come naturally, I just don't feel like playing anymore, cruising is not for me. Got other stuff on my mind to distract me. Lauta is just a habit, and like IRC there's nothing really interesting there anymore (no flourishing New Internal Times like in the good old days) and a lot of spam, so that doesn't help either. I feel like I've moved on. Future will tell.

see you in a few weeks! nah but seriously i think even with having gf or whatever in some years you get bored and stuff get rolling on the normal tracks again and you'll start looking at things a bit different, look at FM for example, first they höyled elma, then women, now elma again. i just think it's easy (very likely) to get back to something you've done since a kid, the earlier you started with something the harder passion you got with it. that's how i see it.

just saying never say never ;)

Zweq could be right. If you're using your computer occasionally, you're bound to return to elma again.

I have my Elma computer which I use for Elma. Then I have my laptop which I use for everything else. It takes motivation/determination to just start a hoylable Elma version since I need to start the computer specifically for the game (motivation/determination that I lack).

Not that anyone cares, but I haven't touched elma in a couple of months, and I have no real desire to start back up again. I think 10 years of playing this silly motorcycle game might be enough. Bye!

i was about to quit elma in two weeks, on 27-28th june but situation which is stated on the scene nowadays shows me well what is elasto mania now.
excuse my crap english, i hope it's understandable!
now, when saveload is spread, i bet externals times will be totally hacked
i see that even when sl is shared, noone shares it :) so, SADLY, as it was before, some guys will be having and using saveload, others won't. that crushes the scene. and doesn't matter if saveload is detectable or nope
also, i feel like elma changed totally. now only win in battle makes sense or some wanker record (wr), nothing more. but for me elma is cruising, for MY pleasure, some nice tricks not for faster finish or even finish but for MY pleasure.
saveload would have helped alot - i could cruise through giant levels for clear recs etc, doesnt matter
i would like to thank all elmansu, not except some annoying guys (won't put nicks here), you're still part of community!
i hope we can continue our chatting on fb etc :)
i'm not about to come back here - but who knows, maybe some day

well i wish elma not to die for atleast a few years from now

cya and fuck you <3

p.s you won't see these words but the biggest thank goes to you, Smibu - for opening my eyes!
p.p.s. huj = dick, really

This is most likely my last post ever - I was snoozing away and got myself thinking about internet. I actually quit about two years ago with playing this game anywhere close to the good old days. Just mopolauta kept me in here basically, until other much more important things in my life got in the way. Music deprived me of all my previous interests, so it seems. I'm now ready to put an end to this, once and for all.

I am grateful for all the great moments we shared, be it on this forum, through EOL, belma, irc-channels, msn, and even in real life. I really enjoyed the game for the silly people I met and all the daily and especially nightly conversations we had. I surely hope you all find a great goal in life aswell, be it elma or otherwise. So, goodbye you all!

Same here, just change "music" to "film and other bullshit". Great speech tj! Actually I don't remember when I stopped playing. Must be atleast two years ago.

I sometimes miss battling and I have not yet seen EOL. Still thinking about making a feature documentary about the elma scene but I guess I am 10 years too late...

Why do you approve of quitting? Why, in your opinion, is it better to cut oneself off totally than to pop in at least several times a year?

Because the human mind likes to work things out in absolutes. Either you have the entire cake with topping and all the candy in the world, or nothing at all.
