What is "hoylish" to you?
When staying on #battle it has become clear to me that ppl don't agree on what levs are 'hoylish'.
To me hoylish levs are like Warm Up where the main style(s) are very obvious and the level is really easy and all you have to do to get good time is to PLAY PLAY PLAY!

Hoylish : Levels which are not very good visually, but with some serious hoyling potential.
Hoyling : Play a level very intensively. [ See Crazy ]

well, all levs become höylish for me after hours of playing, depending of the lengt of the lev it can take from few mins to weeks playing to get on the "höyl-level" where your fingers start to work automatically on most parts of the lev, you dont have to think all the time what to press and you finish the lev quite often with good time
BUT if theres some really hard trick that you're trying to do and you know that when you finally do it youll clearly beat your current best time, then its not really höylish lev imo, eventho playing that lev much is höyling......mmm, im a bit tired now

After i get so maxed used to a lev i do all parts and presses automaticly without thinking. But suthenly i for some reason think to myself "hey how do i press when i drive this lev" AND BOOM you forget the key combinations, you just loose the feeling. Beacuse you driven so long on auto mode you forget and dont think att all when you play.
The only thing left is the instinct that works like a RAM memory. SOmething distract you and you loose it and must start over
anybody else had this?

How about this definination: when clock is off you can't say if you beat your best time or not. But I think the crazy hoylas see 0,01 differences anyway.

eh i cant lose feeling with some lev, i had not played tricks abound for a, lets say 8-9 months (except 1h tt battles), played 5 fucking mins til i improved my time/wr to ,67. then i played some more and got the ,1x. Really cant forget a style if i play too much (or what did you guys mean), sounds insane that you can lose touch
edit: ok should read what you guys write before writing own comment :S, I usually dont think what i press, listen music or something and you think about the music. Listen the music and let the fingers do the work

hoyla lev - a lev that you enjoy to play, and hence you want to play it a lot
i enjoy levs that feel nice with the bike... it's fun to see the wheels sticking to a polygon because i got a certain jump right, or to get a really nice volt after some section, to catch the bike perfectly in a hang, etc.
what i don't like are levs that i'm not consistent with... like, there is no clear way to do a certain part, and even when i do it, it's not aesthetically pleasing. for example the AH brutal looks really sweet, so it's hoylable, but the Fruit in the Den start is just mango, so i hate it.

A hoyly level for me is one that I play over and over...
Hoyling is repeated playing, so as long as you play and play it becomes a hoyled lev...right? and to be a holyed lev it has to be hoylable...
But I know what you mean. Generally I think of a hoyla level to be quite short and all about the style. More or less any #battle lev is hoyly

A hoylish level isn't just one that you hoyl, but a level where you've got the style all figured out and can finish the level every now and then. Steppes for me isn't hoylish because I can't do the over-wall trick, even though I hoyled like crazy trying to do this. Over and under is hoylish for me because I seem to be able to improve my time every time I hoyl it.

That's the exact decribtion..Abula wrote:How about this definination: when clock is off you can't say if you beat your best time or not. But I think the crazy hoylas see 0,01 differences anyway.
Though I always play shorter levs and often all times ends up within just a few hundreds.
Long levs can be hoylable for sure! But I just hoyl the shorter trax
edit: actually I don't know if it's PR when time's toggled on either

Isn't the definition of hoyling:
"To play a level many times with the sole purpose of beating a record."
?

so i pressed esc, run replay and watched...
i was going down at that replay, made uphill, went back, took the 'brutal' apple with no brutal, going back, made another uphill....
that's what i call hoyling, no excitement of doing ez tricks
