When are Kuskis no longer called Noobs?

Post by Dynamo »

What TT should you should have or what other accomplishments do u need to not be considered a noob in either playing, level making, lgr making, programming, and everything else that's elma-related?

has nothing to do with your tt i think, but your social status in the scene, when people know you well enough and your name is known to most, then you a no longer a noob.

When you don't worry about your status in the scene, you won't be called a noob. I think. You shouldn't be stupid anyway.

When most of scene knows you.
Decent internal/external times, battle playing, talking at #across - it all makes it quicker.

not much of an expert on the subject, but i hate it when noobs pretend to be pros, using terminology wrongly and telling their times (which are good for them) and saying like "Level X: time X   sach bad0r tim0r cbf h0lying bango lev"

no no you've got it all wrong, it's written in moposite, a noob is somebody with over 45:00,00 in TT, less than 25 battle wins and less than 30 levels made. noobs.

Like I have said before you can be a noob in many different ways. Noob at level making, noob for not knowing anything related to the scene such as who is zweq or noob when it comes to your elma skills. There is quite a few of these.

But in general I think you are considered a noob if you don't have a "status" in the scene, read: no one knows who you are.

ye there are different kinds of noobs. the two main ones i think are noob to scene and noob tt. they hardly coincide. of course also noob lvl making.

i agree noob tt = over 45.00. noob at scene is of course not definable, even though there are those that are and those that aren't.

n00b doesn't have anything to do with tt imo. The status thingie Cloud mentioned is a better way of defining it, but then again we always have those who in my eyes always will be n00bs anyway... (read: Totti :*)
4th position in WC4 (DAMN YOU KARLIS!!!!) PWNED KARLIS IN WC5!!!!TT:39:2x:xx (you've got some playing to do Stini ;) ) When it's all over the question is not who was right. The question is who's left.

If "no longer n00b" = "good" this thread is about excactly the same:

Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

juble can make nice internal times (lab pro), he just doesn't seem to have the inclination.

and there are guys who aren't well known who are fucking awesome. who had ever heard of jx, for example, or to a lesser extent, zaraptor. markku was the same it seems in across.

Well no one has ever said i´m n00b when i came to #battle (TT 48.43.xx and still the same)
and best way to get rid of that n00b status is to play battles and
have good position usually (top3)

Heh, may be weird me saying it, but hows about get back on tropic eh?

If someone is n00b for not being known, then surely if say, Cloud goes away for a while he might be n00b when he comes back because of all the new players that havent heard of him...?
I dunno, I just this: n00b anyway

Signs that say you aren't n00b :

- When we hear your name and we know who you are ( for good reasons .. hum.ELM? P?O "hum )
- You made something like good levels, good times, good lgrs, good program

Bah, you know when you aren't a noob, you can feel it !

my strange opinion:

n00b: this is what you call an idiot and mongoloid
newbie: new to the scene, doesnt know much about elma or something.

people may know a newbie, even though a newbie has 1 hour 15 minits total time or something. newbie can be know by good comments on the forum or something.

n00b is a newbie who is know by his stupidness.

bartek is right. everyone else doesnt really know because I guess they are still noobs. seems only bartek, dz, mila, petson, jalli, cloud,ky (maybe someone else im missing.....) arent noobs in this topic. so look around whos talking, that is what makes a noob, ok, ez.

most ppl that have been playing <2 years are still seen as n00bs unless you have done something spectacular in the scene that could take you out of noob status. everyone these days thinks they are pros but are still noobs. 8O

but seriously, being a noob is a great excuse for not ever having been recognized for doing any special shit in the scene (HELLO CIPH HOWRU???) NOOBS ARE COOl

If you cant beat me in #battle or similar you are a noob to me, wich i wont waste my free time thinking twice at unless you level up with me in skill or do better. Now this must not apply in general but in playing terms its how it works with me...shallow yes. And it feels good you mother
Well i beat u sometimes :)
this is the way i think it too.
so if u don´t have a chance against me in #battle
I keep u as a sucky player or n00b.

Well that becoming pro thing should be handled also somewhere...
like being a pro doesn´t mean that u have to touch internals.
so best way to be a pro is beat Bartek at #battle :P

that #battle idea is stupid. some guys just don't like battles. also some guys aren't good at finding styles quick, or hoyling under time pressure. doesn't mean they are noabs. is Abula better than Zweq because he beat him in 6 internals contest? am i better than Zweq since i beat him in a battle? battle winners are nothing more than that: dudes that can win battles.
