New styles? Hoylas please test them :)

Post by Hibernatus » 31 Aug 2002, 01:46

Hi, as suggested by Abula, here is a topic for newbies who think they found new styles but can't drive WRs.

Here i begin with a style i accidentally found during a crappy run, and which seems impossible. But we never know... :)

 http://membres.lycos.fr/realathlon/pv/51crap.rec

Well, there's also that 09 begining. Maybe the WR is already faster, but it's at least faster than pajen's mopo replay.

I would have so many but I can't post here because of two reason. I'm in a team so I prefer giving the styles to my team mates and secondly I see all WR replays so if I publish some new style people could guess WR holder doesn't use it (because I couldn't publish it if it was WR style).

Anyway you remeber that Zig Zag style. Someone digs up the thread I posted it to a while ago.

A few weeks ago I found one nice style on one internal level. Hoyled it for some minutes and made a conclusion it's 0.5 secs faster than my old normal style. Maybe you who can do the level better can do the part faster with older style than with this new. Anyway:

Level: Tunnel Terror
Style: Brutal volt in 4th apple

Get the replays and level of the style. Can you beat my 20,00? Post the time here, if you get better.

Is this a part of scene corruption? Well, share your thought in the specific thread. dz told us that in his opinion I can tell the styles to everyone and because the style was in Tunnel Terror I thought it's ok then.

Hey, I got an idea!
Why not take it all the way and make a "Styles" forum?

i've found new style at labpro
i can save 2 secs in the last part from right
if someone (toringe, dmd, karlis, stene) want i can send them my training lev
if they get closer than 1.5 secs to my rec..than nothing happend (but i don't think so)
then after failing they can change it to me for some nice replay
...hoylas, mail me for level

prob is that i forgot it on another comp so i made only one basic time (anyway 1.5secs better)

I guess not many people watched this replay from the latest replay update on Moposite, so I decided to post here about it.
The ending is about 0,3 seconds faster than the usual style used there. :)

Stepps brutal style?

Post by klisse » 9 Dec 2002, 12:04

Stepps brutal style?
Here is the basic idea.
1. Don't jump at the jump. But make a sick turning somehow at the edge. e.g with some volts or whatever you pro's do.
2. Do the brutalvolt thing and hope for a high ride.
3. If the spinn is right the backwheel hits the wall first and if you pray, it may happend in a bissard world that the frontwheel slips over the pole.
4. It's really sick if someone can do this ride, and hopefully your time will show 11.xx.

After some testing I've managed to get the frontwheel like 3/4 - 4/5 up the pole.

Do you think this style is possible, or am I far-out on this one?[/list]

I think I have a new style on Freefall...(It's not a wr-style, my record is 20.18).It's much easier to jump back to the flower again. I've never seen it before so I think I should make a copyright of it :D
By the way the wr-style is pretty amazing tried it just for fun but I didn't manage to jump even half way back to flower...

laby

Post by mg » 12 Dec 2002, 01:00

Jeppe or somebody mentioned a trick in laby when nobody knew the bounce style yet. When u get the apple before going down-right into the 9-shaped thing. U just can go right down to the 'hole' without break. You are a bit slower than driven normal but in all you can save about 0.5 sec. Not easy but easier than bounce. I made it several times, and got 57:13 and 14 as the bests. Don't forget i made it on a computer where i wasnt able to go under 57:much ever.

Maybe i put out rec too later cuz i dont think it can be used with bounce in the same rec (u are too slow to do that).

about that laby bounce style, i remember when i also invented it later when you had somewhat good wr already (not the best you got, like 0.5s gap off to second), i did it a few times and started to hate it since it is damn difficult, dd almost had wr on it little later, unfortunately that's when you drove even better time on it so he got bored on it i guess..

maybe ya mg remember us talking about it on irc, that was somewhat sensitive :)

In Bowling, wouldn't it be faster if you made a brutal volt upon the shelf right at the start instead of the normal style?

i've been hoyliing enigma tis after noon without out improving me time 1.05.xx but i think i found a way to do it quicker, it would be no gud for wr but it may help peple like me improve there tt,

at the moment i go to the island after the start turn around and bounce of the slope to get the flower, but this takes sum time, so this avo i tried going over the island and landing on the other slope near the killers and "bug bouncing" back over the killers, i almost made it twic but just causght me head on the top of the killer, is this possible to do and if it is can sumone send me there rec,

Here is the alternate laby style. I think it can save some 0.10s in all.
Try to merge it with bounce in '9' and have wr, quite good task for some hoylas.

I think I have a new style at Zig-Zag. Well I think that it may be possible to take the 4th apple at the begining by inviking a brutal volt. This way it would be the 3rd apple. I don't have a replay cuz I couldn't make it, but to see how to invoke a brutal volt download http://groups.msn.com/juni/Documents/El ... n't know.

Yea, it was already invented.. and i've done it many times, the brutal volt isn't hard. But when u have come down the hill where the 4th apple was, u have to bounce and that bounce is damn hard. If anyone wants my replay of this style, just ask me at #across

It's a compressed file yes, which is better than .zip (compresses more)

Use f.ex. WinRAR www.winrar.com

which, IMO, is a better program than WinZIP

Doh.

This thread isn't for best rar program. Also Doddddy could learn to edit his messages. You don't have to post a new message "oh I made a mistake" but you just edit the previous one. The edit button is in the right corner of the post. And now don't post here any more off-topic like "oops sorry".
