The new patch is cheating....

Post by Jonas »

I donloaded to patch an hour ago and instantly i got my time down on level 01 from 14.40 to 14.31 so isn´t this new patch a cheat?....of course it is, anyone who says the different is a fool....This patch isn´t apart of the real game and shouldn´t excist...I think it is great with the replay stuff but the alovolt key is cheatnig even if it´s cool and fun...so I admire those real hoylers who don´t use this and still get goos times, all honor to them....you others and me are just cheaters who don´t know better....In guess many of you don´t agree with me but think before you say anything....Me Has Spoken..!

LOL

Jonas like cheating :P

I can do alovolts in my father's pc but not in mine. I think that this patch will give same oportunities to all players because you can't alovolt with some keyboards...

ballelma has slightly different physics at my compy. I have told about it at #ballelma recently. Seems like some other ppl noticed the same.
Tested it only with vsync OFF:
1. Here it hanges worse than normal elma with vsync off (so, it makes a feeling like if u are playing elma with vsync on and quite high fps).
2. Still it feels like a normal vsync off - hanges are anyway good, and there is no delay between button pressings. Good grip.
3. Shelf Life shortcut can be done with vsync off and 300 fps (it cant be done in normal elma at my PC with the same fps)
4. Headbanger shortcut is easier than with vsynced off elma.
Now i play only in ballelma - it is nicier to play. Have you experienced the same?

you might get different fps in ballelma, because it uses some processor power, with same fps physics is exactly the same, nothing is changed there

I've noticed that in ballelma my head might go quite deep into polygon, but still not killing the kuski, this has happened in elma 1.2 very final but never so deep -> not so usually.

ez proof that only fps matters
the only other different might be that since elma1.2veryfinal timer resolution is set same as win98 default - 1ms, otherwise xp timer kinda sax and resolution is like 16ms or what
so if you get same frame rate, its same as 1.2veryfinal

That's nothing, me and Jebus have got the whole bike to go the whole way through the wall and past without dying, we've still got the rec if you want....

http://www.elmasite.com/attachment,atta ... d-1194.htm

Explanation of why it stopped: I pressed Escape.

I was the first to got through the wall, but in this rec Jebus went through.

I want to know why this was possible. (we weren't using nitro or any other fack- just normal elma)

why do you upload to elmasite? mongo waiting perioed before downloading....

and about the surviving, i would just assume you had too high speed to ever hit the wall. Dont play naab levels.

Sometimes (to me) both wheels have ended up inside polygon without that squeeze-thing, not head tough.

similar things have happened to me, with enough speed the head can get through polygon. I assume it is because when yuo travel fast enough, the bike doesnt go through every position and quite simply there is no frame in which the head was overlapping a wall boundary, so to the game, you never died since i think elma is programmed to check for frames in which the head is overlapping a wall bounadry and that corresponds to death.

Maybe mila can clarify things or say I'm right or something ;)

that's not very easy to do with 500+ fps hehe.
i guess it's easier with a laggy elma, like 20 fps.

I never noticed head going trough anything at high speed besides normal head turning behaviour, and I won't until you show a replay.

i've seen my friend doing rec like that in freefall (start to left and died to ground, but not directly, but after he changed 'direction')
also turn may help (like in jalli's impsy13 rec)
ez possible, elma logic is - count n-th step of (n-1)th, then check if head intersects some edge
with low fps it's possible to get head in, but very unprobable

Nice, but indeed, mila's explanation says it's normal elma behaviour.. although very rare.

Oh ya missed that, well it probably has everything to do also with the fact that the wall is exactly at the end of possible level space sa you can see inside the editor, and I've also started to trust what milagros is saying because he rocks!
