use your pinky finger on the enter key if you're using the numpad. ez top.
both my hands rest on my keyboards thingy and the rest of the arms along the table. my ring finger is on alt and my middle finger and index finger is on the space bar.
stuff i maybe should change: get a brake alias for the left hand. and a new "escape" key closer to where my hand rests...

escape so he can learn to press escape quicker for ez hoyling, and brake alias, dunno, it's useless to me, whenever I brake it's pretty much brake alias....

took a while, but after extensive testing etc, i bought three of these: http://www.cooltechpc.com/ctpc/images/m ... _media.jpg

they wont produce any three button bug (nor four, five, six, seven or eight). Really nice keyboard with good functions, good feel - and perfect Elma component =)

after I broke the best elma keyb I found another one on top of a shelf, had got it from some old 286, so I was guessing it would work good with 3-5 keypresses and it sure did, using åöä' for movement and well space was broken so had to use b for turning and unfortunately it broke also, so atm n is for turning. This keyb though cant handle gas brake left enter, so it isn't quite as good as the old one but qualifies for serious elmaplaying fo sho, it's called MITSUMI ;D

So far it's max, and has all i want:
  • big, fat keys
  • long space bar, small fucking windows keys
  • no useless shortcut keys
And it was cheap too. And no problems wiht pressing multiple kyes at the same time 8)
<Fihlvein> another case of zworqy-is-always-right closed i guess
<yoosef> zworqy doesnt suck at anything

My old keyboard stopped working about a month ago, so I bought a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000. It can't handle up+down+left or up+left+ctrl with normal arrow keys, and there can also be some problems if you're using numpad instead of normal arrows. Fortunately the situation is better with letters, at least the following configuration (which is what I'm using now) works absolutely fine:

right hand: plöä and enter
left hand: m = turn, j = alo, y = alt esc, h = alt brake

The actual keys are lower than in old keyboards, which took some time to get used to, but it feels comfortable now, so no problem there.

It's different! Let's reject it until someone popular starts using it!

This is same as mine, although don't have warning sign over arrows. It's actually a bit longer, and less high than it looks on picture. Love it, can't stand those big ones ;/

Bought a Razer Tarantula today, getting one for non-competitive elma cruising might be overdoing it, but at least it works.

Few keyboards I also tried recently that didnt work:
Saitek Eclipse Gaming Keyboard- typical elma problems with both arrow keys and numpad, watefak "gaming keyboard" is this? There's a newer model out, but I doubt they fixed the problem. Seems like even the manufacturer doesnt list these under "gaming keyboards" anymore. :D

Logitech Deluxe Keyboard - Same problems.

Rest in peace, Keytronic 1996-2007, you will always live in my heart :'(
sorey, no solutions today
I used to believe in many things, all of it! Now, I believe only in dynamite.

I have some really old keyboard that came with my 233mhz Meisaku. Perfect for elma and doesnt jam up, the space is reaally small compared to normal keyboards and it fits my faggy pianoplayer fingers needs nicely.

/offtopic

How do you define "be back on elma"? :)

I've tried it couple of times this year too, even dl the belma but havent checked out it yet.

2 years ago my upload limit was exceeded with my homepage (mbnet.fi servers) and thus I haven't been able to upload anything there. Should check if its still like that. Even had sometimes some strange urge to make new levs or just play around with the editor. It felt like seeing a good old friend or something

I've never understood why anyone would use break alias. Perhaps it's because they want to be able to break when they start a level, but that can be easily fixed without it.

Depends on how you press all the gas-, rotate- and brakebuttons. If you do like I do which is index finger on left, middle finger on gas and ring finger on right it's quite easy do brake quickly by lowering middle finger so that you press gas and brake simultaneously. I know some players use thumb on left, index on gas and middle on right, then it seems pretty awkward to do gas + brake at the same time and brake alias could be useful. I think I've even heard about some dude having thumb on left, index on brake, middle on gas and ring on right but I don't know if he use brake alias or not.

Choose whatever key you like. The important thing is that it feels good.
